Yeah, I just think if they go that route they'll just do another round of boarding groups.Let the guests decide if they want to use up all their extended time waiting in line. If enough people enter the line, they can just close it to new people. That will also leave the other rides with shorter lines.
The demand for that ride isn't going to go down for years, if ever.
You would have a MASSIVE queue lined up for EH guests waiting for the switch from BGs to Standby, which would be a crowd control headache. And you would likely have way more than 2 hours' worth of guests lined up before you even started to let them into the internal queue. It's just an unworkable nightmare.
Far more people want to ride it than can ride it. I don't know how many years it will take for that to change. I imagine that BGs are here to stay for quite a while.
