Express Pass?

I just want to make sure that I understand the difference between the normal express pass and unlimited express pass. Are you actually given a "pass" or is it loaded onto your ticket like Disney's Magic Band? With the regular pass-do we get express line access to each ride once in both parks every day our tickets are valid for? I know there are a few rides in Harry Potter not included with Express Pass at all. This is our first trip and we may do a split stay now so I want to make sure I understand how the passes work. If we stayed one night at Sapphire Falls and got the regular express pass would we get 2 days (check in and check out) day of Express Pass and is it valid in both parks on the same day? Thanks for any help and advice you can give a newbie!

*The Express Pass is not loaded onto your ticket. It is a separate ticket.
*Sapphire Falls will not have any type of Express Pass benefit.
*For the "regular" Express Pass, you can purchase it for a single park or for both parks, if I understand correctly. I've never actually purchased it in the park. But what I do know for sure is that with the standard version of the EP, you get ONE use per attraction that accepts it.
*For the Unlimited Express Pass, you can use it as many times as you like at every attraction that accepts it.
*Staying in one of the three deluxe onsite hotels (Hard Rock, Portofino Bay, Royal Pacific) gets you the Unlimited EP on both check-in day and check-out day.

It's loaded on a separate ticket. The last time I was there, we stayed at RPR they took our photo and it was on the ticket.

Sapphire Falls does not have Express Pass. Only Royal Pacific, Hard Rock and Portofino Bay have EP. If you stay at one of those three hotels you get EP for check in and check out.

Yes I've never purchased EP either, I've always stayed at the on site hotels. But you do need to either purchase a park to park express pass or a single park express pass.

Stupid question can you go on a ride more than once if its unlimited?

You can go on as many times as you like. You can't stay on the ride though. You have to get off and then go back through the express pass line. And some of the lines are visible to the non-express pass line (the Hulk used to be that way, not sure how it is today). So after our 4th time of walking right by the same people who were waiting in the regular line, I started to feel guilty and told my wife and kids that perhaps we should ride something else. :-)

Other rides have more private express pass lines so folks in the regular lines don't see you walking by them over and over again.

Good I was wondering about that. I won't go on a lot of times just a couple of the rides that I really enjoy. Since this is the first time we will have the passes because we are staying at RPR I want to make sure i get good use out of them.

We felt the same way after 4 times on MiB using the child swap crossover.

I told you someone would think SF had EP when grouped with RP in the same category! LOL!:P:duck:

To the OP- this is not a jab at you in any way. I am referring to another thread in which we discussed Sapphire Falls and Royal Pacific being placed in the same category despite the difference in perks (namely, EP).
