EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

I really feel it's a must have for AKL. :thumbsup2 The savannah view is the best! Otherwise you might as well stay at the WL and be closer to the parks.

While I respect your opinion, I'd like to share a slightly differing one.

We generally prefer standard view rooms. When we have a pool view or standard view- we get the benefit of multiple views: one from my room, and the second from the 'public space/lounge. If your room faces the 'prime' view, then that's the only view you get. If we are staying CL for multiple days, multiple views = variety.

Sun also matters. At AKL, one summer savannah room had a very HOT sunny balcony. In winter, sun's a plus; in summer, shade is a plus.

It's a bit like the lottery to see what we'll get: the hotel, trees, gardens, plus maybe a parking lot, or backstage area. It is interesting to glimpse access roads. Normally Disney keeps them hidden.

Though what matters most to us, is lounge proximity and resort access. One non-CL AKL stay, our room faced the pool: close to lobby, elevator, dining. Perfect! We were very close to a viewing balcony, and we really enjoyed seeing the pool.

If I'm in a savannah view room I can still visit all the different public viewing areas as well. So I haven't lost that option. But I agree some people definitely prefer to overlook a pool or water of some sort. I love to overlook Stormalong Bay at BC or Bay Lake at the CR or the Seven Seas Lagoon at the Poly. WDW has lots of great views to fit anyone's preference. :thumbsup2

Something I was wondering about was check in, We are staying at the YC. We will be spending the day at the parks and then checking in late afternoon, our luggage is being sent over from CBR from a one night stay. How do they they know when you walk in that you are checking in to a CL room. Do you still go to the front desk and then they will direct us up stairs? I'v seen notes about people "meeting you in the lobby" but don't know how they could figure out who was going where or who is who. Thanks

I believe mostly they know if you drive in and stop at the gate house. The security guard signals ahead. But you can just walk up to a CM who is likely to be near the door with an iPad. Just say you are checking in at club level.

I haven't seen anyone answer this.. How does the CM texting work? I arrive at GF on Feb 6th and I don't know if they text prior to my arrival or only after check in

We're checking in at GF on the 6th, too! :cool1:

I came here to ask the same question. I am really hoping that they are still doing the text thing. It would be great to get some more details, I feel like I don't exactly know how it works.

For example, do you tell them in your text what ride you are interested in? Or do they give you choices? Also, if we use all of our FPs in the morning of one park, can we have them check for evening FPs at a different park?

We will be there the last full week in October. We have never done CL before and this will be the first time at the Poly. I think I'm going to contact our TA and let her know I want to upgrade to CL!! :woohoo:

YAY! I'm so excited for you. I can post pics from our trip in 18 days :)

Do you mean to say if your room is ready? It's after you check in...you'll give your cell number and they will test you when it's set. I'll be at Poly right before you!

Just wanted to mention that when I reserved AKL CL a few days ago and then linked the Orbitz reservation with MDE, I was asked whether I would like to be texted when the room is ready. So at least on the 'front end', they seem to be testing it for AKL. I won't know if it actually works till Feb 27 though. :)

That is the automated.. Apparently, you can text CM's questions and get answers. I have heard people texting when they get on property so a CM is waiting for them

This is possibly a dumb question but I really don't know.

Do CL guests get any benefit for sending purchases in parks to the room/resort? I swore I had heard it gets there faster than the regular 3 days. I could be totally thinking of something else though. :confused3

They do put CL purchases in your room instead of picking up at the gift shop. They use to do this years ago for regular rooms. I like coming in and finding presents!

I think it only takes 24 hours

Yay! I knew I had heard that somewhere! That will be so helpful as I know my grandmother will want to shop til she drops and I know I don't want to haul it around haha!

This is the answer I got when I asked a few days ago:
Yes, we are currently testing a new texting service. It is just a test and could end, but I think it will continue. It will be available to you after you check in, when you'll be given the specific number to text to. It's is available 7am-10pm every day and through it we can assist you just as if you were at the Club Concierge desk. It's not just for FastPasses, but that is one of the things we do. It can be used for just about any question or request you have. We see it as a very useful communications link for our guests.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or need additional assistance.

So we just switched from Poly Cl to Sugar loaf as I don't want to worry about construction this trip. I just want to relax. However, we have never stayed at SL only RPC. What should I know about sugar loaf? are there better floors, rooms? What is the deal with the turret rooms? They look to be the same category as all the deluxe rooms are in the main building. Are they bigger, do you forgo a balcony?

TIA

Do turret rooms have balconies? I know the top floor doesn't, but the other 2 do, right?

Turret rooms on 2 and 3rd floor have balcony in SL.

Texting.

All resorts have "text" when room is ready feature avaialble.

For cr, gf and AkL CL's they are doing a separate TEST texting service.

You will be given the phone number and information at checkin.

You can use it to get help with dining, FP+ and general questions.

We used it to get a late check out. That was much easier to do from comfort of your room vs standing at desk waiting for a turn.

Hope that helps clarify:)

Surprisingly the shops don't know about this:confused3 When I mention it they say to pick up in the shop at your resort.

At our CL trips last year we sent our packages and they all were in oour room the next day.

Make sure to write in large letters room number /info on your receipt(anywhere is fine)

Example at poly I wrote "Hawaii room xxxx"

At gf
"Sugarloaf xxxx"

I read to do that somewhere. It can't hurt.

Yes, it's fun to find presents:cloud9:

I'm not surprised .. I know the resort delivered a large amount of packages to SL last year and the CM's were taking them to the rooms.
