EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Hi, am planning a trip to Disney next year to stay at a deluxe resort for a few days. Normally I stay at a moderate hotel but want to try a deluxe (its been many years since at a deluxe resort before club level rooms I think)
Anyway, I have a couple questions. Which do you think has the better club level lounge? Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge? Does one have a better view than the other.

I have never stayed at either one, so would like to try one of them for this. On one hand Animal Kingdom Lodge has the animals you can maybe see from the hotel, and Wilderness Lodge is near Magic Kingdom. Looking for some friendly advice on making a decision lol.

Also, I will be getting an annual pass soon (first time for that also) When the discounts come out for the annual passholders for next year, are club level rooms ever eligible for a discount, or just the standard rooms?

Thanks.

Thanks for your review thisismyusername.

I'm surprised that they didn't have a room for you with a daybed and having 5 people. I have 5 in our family and we are always given a room with a daybed. I was under the impression that Disney only guarantees a daybed if you have 5. Makes me a little nervous about our upcoming trip.

I had the same experience with the welcome chocolates. The first time we stayed CL at BC we were upgraded so I didn't even know about that until I got home and started reading about CL. And last year when we were at BWI the first room we were given didn't have the chocoates but the second room we moved to did.:confused3 I guess housekeeping is supposed to put them there and some forget. I don't know.

I'm glad you had a great time.

Chocolates? Champagne? Guess we missed out too! Fingers crossed for our October visit!

I'm totally new to the club levels, but I did want to say that I'm using my bounce back offer from our last stay for this next upcoming stay. It was 35% off deluxe and I'm using it on our GF club level stay. So yeah, I guess you can use discounts on club level stays. :)

I'm pretty sure you'll be fine as I think that all of the rooms (except some of the specialty rooms, like the dormer rooms) at the GF have daybeds. I think that's also true of all of the rooms at the GF and Poly too.

It was not low to the ground like the old Murphy beds at POR. It looked to be a standard twin size mattress (possibly slightly smaller) on a rollaway frame. Same height as the regular bed. I asked the staff to remove the chair from the room so it wasn't tight. It really was fine for my 13 year old daughter, and I'm not really complaining about the fact that she had to sleep on a rollaway: I'm complaining more about the fact that we're regularly assigned rooms that sleep four when we have five (no babies, either) at the YC, and we have to straighten it out at the beginning of our vacation. Surely, a note can be made when the room is picked that we'll need a rollaway, and that should be provided and put in the room without us needing to go and handle it ourselves. It's just not a good way to start vacation when one of us needs to stand out in the hall with the suitcases and the kids (since we don't know if we'll be moved) while the other adult goes to the desk to straighten it out…

Thank you so much for your reply! Totally gave me peace of mind, regardless of the 3rd bed situation! :)

I know Poly and GF pretty much have 2 queen and day bed situations for all CL rooms.

I was wondering if anyone knows the likelihood of getting 2 queen and a day bed at BWI (std CL). It's already listed as the number one request. Its me DW, DS14, DS2 and DD 7mos.

So asking the 14 year old to share with the 2 year old might be a stretch .. LOL ..

TIA

I have used my annual pass discount on club stays several times (:
I am using a bounceback offer on my next stay.

We've had 2 queens and a daybed at BWI CL every time we've stayed there. :thumbsup2 I don't know how many rooms like this they have exactly, but it must be a decent amount for us to luck out every time. :goodvibes

From what I understand, parties of 5 are given preference for a room with a daybed, but since there are only so many of them, it is not guaranteed as one might not be available when you check in.

I was going off of a comment made once at a resort at check in. I can't remember where it was but I had daybed in my requests and was told that I'm a party of 5 and didn't need to worry about not getting a daybed.:scratchin

Maybe the CM was new or something. I don't know. But anyway we've always had good luck getting a daybed.

Thanks much. It would certainly make sleeping arrangements a lot easier.

Now to figure out if DS2 get's to experience his own bed before or after the trip. hmmm (He's still in a crib at the moment)

I've stayed at WL CL and AKL CL and I would have to give the edge to WL. We were just at the AKL CL last week, our room was soooo far from the lounge we rarely ventured that far unless we were leaving the resort or coming in from being gone. I much prefer the resorts that have a dedicated club level where your room is on the same level as the lounge.

AKL CL is very nice, we enjoy the food and drink offerings, and the resort itself is gorgeous. Really the only down side was the insanely long walks.

Good luck deciding! :thumbsup2

We have stayed WL CL and it was amazing. We haven't tried CL at AKL, but have had 2 great stays there and I have read nothing but great things about their CL (which is on our list of clubs to try). With that said, I don't think you can go wrong with either one as they are both great places to stay. One advantage, though, to WL CL is that all CL rooms are on the same floor as the lounge, which isn't the case at AKL. There are DVC units on the AKL club floor, with standard CL rooms on a different floor. Good luck with your decision.

Yes, CL rooms are usually included in promos as we have used discounts on them as well :).

We've never stayed at BWI, but awhile back I remember someone posting that the majority of the rooms (something like 99%) have daybeds :).

Could some people please post if you have had good experiences at BC CL? This will be both our first stay at BC and CL. I am trying not to let the recent reviews on the thread scare me because this is a huge treat for us. Thanks :)

Hi Gerberdaisy! I wanted to let you know we stayed at BC CL last October and had a fantastic experience!:cool1::cool1: Now I only have 2 CL experiences total at YC and BC but have been really satisfied at both.

I was already prepared (thanks DIS) on what the food selections probably would be so we were great with what was offered. I found the CMs to be very accomodating and I asked for stuff on several different occasions. There was one family that tended to dominate but as soon as they cleared out a tray of food (Ridiculous when people are clearly waiting) a CM was right there to replace it. The CM Emily, I wanted to bring home with me. She was so great with my kids and also the desk CMs greeted us by name everytime we walked by.

Again, I know I am a CL newbie, but I have had no complaints!:thumbsup2

My whole family adores the AKL CL. We know the CMs, we know the menu, we have our favorite places to sit. I love how the lounge over looks the lobby. I love the intimate seating areas. I love the fact that there is a little tucked away kids area. I love pin trading. I love Don, Stacie, Sam, Courtney, Carmen, Mike, Dave, April.

I love AKL!!!

I'm a little frustrated. I have heard great things about the Poly CL, however since I have changed my reservations from WL to Poly I have not heard from them at all. I called and left a vmail. I have some concerns re: the pool closure, and I also want to arrange for snacks on the Grand One during out fireworks cruise. I have gift bags I would like places in the rooms of the people I have booked for.

I know no one here can help, just wanted to vent!

Are you getting the automated response email that says your message was received?? Have you tried calling them?? Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I didn't email. I've called three times. I left two voicemails and once spoke to someone at GF.

Definitely use email. That is how I correspond with IPO about 99% of the time. It's easier, faster, and then you have a paper trail for anything you've told them or they've told you. Typically they get back pretty quickly if you email during business hours. If you email at night then usually the response comes the next morning.

As far as gift bags you want placed in people's rooms, is this a gift bag you've created yourself? Or is this something you ordered from Disney Florist? If it's something you've created yourself there's not much you can do in advance. They probably won't be willing to do anything until after everyone has checked in to their room and you know the room #'s they are in. Even if they have pre-assigned rooms prior to arrival a lot of times they end up moving people around the day of. Once everyone has checked in and you know their room #'s then I would take the gift bags to the CL desk and ask if anyone would be willing to deliver them for you. If these are gift bags you are designing with Disney Florist then they will handle delivery to the rooms themselves. :)
