EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Thank you for sharing, I really appreciate it! It's great how they go above and beyond for their guests. I will definitely inform the CM's. I think breakfast will be easiest with him, desserts will be our biggest issue (peanuts and eggs make dessert time miserable for him). It breaks my heart when everyone else is eating cake or cookies and he can't have any. Anytime I go to a party I always offer to make a dessert, so he'll be able to have something. Thanks again!! I hope you enjoyed your trip!!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE DISNEY MOMS OUT THERE!!!!! Have a great day!

Maybe different resorts handle it different ways? For our stay this June I had to speak with the CL Manager who told me there were new rules in place. Any food allergies couldn't be kept in the CL lounge. This food was kept downstairs in the kitchen it was prepared. Then when we went to the lounge they went down and got the food. They said they are not allowed to hold it anymore in the little club kitchen area b/c of cross contamination. My DD has gluten allergy, not deadly by any means but they told me this is new allergy rule at BC/YC

Wow, even better. It really is great to know. I will definitely be calling prior to arrival to notify them of his allergies. He isn't a big eater by any means, but it's too risky to just 'try' something and hope there is no cross contamination. We carry Benadryl and his Epi-pens everywhere to be safe. I am so happy to know they go that extra mile. Thank you, you guys are making me feel so much better!

WWYD? We currently have a 3 night reservation at the Yacht Club for the beginning of June in a garden view room. I have a $300 credit on the room, which I can keep and use towards dining, or I can upgrade to CL, but only if we move over to the Beach Club, which we don't like nearly as much as the Yacht Club. We are having such a hard time not booking CL anymore, and I'm having a hard time not justifying it when I think about plunking down $100 on 5 resort mugs and buying breakfast for 4 days when CL is an upgrade of $300 (or, essentially negates my credit).

We've read so many lukewarm things about BC CL, and think the resort rooms are in dire need of a rehab based on our stay there last summer. Should we just stay put at the YC? (No CL availability for our dates.)

I thought they actually did just get a refurb?? If you'd be spending the $300 on the same things you're getting with CL, I think I'd upgrade. :-) of course I am staying CL for the first time in July at WL so I don't know much about CL.

Tough choice, at the YC you'll be guaranteed a full balcony and their garden views are really nice. :thumbsup2 Is the BC CL room garden view also?? I would only switch if you plan to really utilize the lounge, not just for breakfast but for drinks and snacks during the day and evening. If you plan to drink beer or wine, eat the hot apps or desserts, or even just grab snacks and drinks, you could deduct that from your daily snack/food budget. My kids eat and drink their money's worth for sure, me not so much. You mentioned 5 mugs so I'm guessing you'll have 5 people in your room, the lounge might be nice for spreading out a bit.
Tough choice!

I know--we just aren't big fans of the BC. If the YC had CL availability, I'd do it without hesitating.

Plus, it's so hard to say whether we'll be at the resort a whole lot. I am sure we'll be doing our fair share of swimming, but we like doing that during the evening hours, often when the lounge is closed. But if the weather's bad, and we're hanging at the resort, then the lounge and access to snacks and drinks is awesome.

Another idea was to use the credit and switch over to a non-CL room at the GF since we're mostly going to the MK (same cost as BC CL). I'd love to check out the recently refurb'ed rooms--they look gorgeous! That's, obviously, a bad choice from a financial standpoint as we'd only be gaining closer access to the MK and no food at all, LOL.

I stayed at BC CL two summers ago and it was really disappointing. I LOVE YC CL and found the BC CL GV rooms to be in such short supply. Some of them connect and 1 of the 5 is handicapped accessible and it is awkwardly laid out unless of course you are handicapped. LAST summer, after the disappointing experience at BC CL, we styed YC GV no club.LOVED IT. We honestly didn't even miss it...THIS SUMMER my DD is bringing a friend so we opted to do CL again b/c of the extra lounge space for the girls to hang out a bit so DH and I can get ready in the room etc. I was pretty disappointed in my last BC CL stay. I wouldn't do it again....

Oh don't I know it!!!! Our March trip started out booked at AKL, then we bumped up the cost and picked BC CL, then we bumped up again and did CR CL :bitelip::bitelip::bitelip::bitelip: Once the money is going to WDW what's another few hundred? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Very good to know. I think we'd just be disappointed all together in BC until they refurb it. We are willing to try it again, but we far prefer the YC over the BC for many reasons, and I'm afraid if I have a crappy view, a room in dire need of refreshing, a Juliet balcony and the lounge is "meh," I'm going to be disappointed I didn't save my money and stay over at the YC.

So here are my options with what I have paid so far. WWYD? We are going for 3 nights in early June. This is a bonus trip that I am doing for work-related reasons, so our initial thoughts were to keep it as cheap as possible since we'll be back for 2 weeks in mid to late July, but as usual, we keep increasing the cost of the trip since we have a hard time not having that extra layer of convenience and luxury while staying at the resorts. We are driving, so we will have the ability to bring some water, snacks, breakfast bars, etc. with us easily, or go off site to get anything we need, but we tend to keep things fairly simple so we don't have to be mules in the parks loaded down with water bottles and food.

For park days, we're doing 2 days at MK, one half day at Epcot and AK, and one half day at HS. We're frequent travelers, so we don't do everything in the parks: If we want to go swimming, we go swimming. If we want to tour commando, we do. If the weather's miserable, we're miserable, LOL. We need morning coffee and some breakfast to function. We have only two ADRs scheduled (one signature for our anniversary at GF, one lunch ADR at AK). We could do more ADRs if we feel like it, or just do some CS + lounge snacks.

- Stick to our budget and stay put at the YC, non-CL, enjoy a $300 credit towards our meals/expenses.
- Stay Poly CL for an extra $150 (???? kind of tempting, kind of not…)
- Stay GF, non-CL, for an extra $145 for the convenience of being by the MK and staying in one of the beautiful new refurb'ed rooms.
- Try OKW 1-bed (one of the few resorts we haven't been to) and keep a $150 credit

Such a hard time deciding!

to me it is easy....b/c it isn't my decision. YC or GF no questions asked. Full balcony. Coffee pot in room...the money you are saving get breakfast in the lobby at YC at that little place can't think of name has pastries etc....Pocket the money, eat better food b/c we all know their club food isn't blowing anyone's socks off...GF would be tempting to me with refurbed rooms. We are staying in GFV 1 bedroom before our YC stay this summer to see it for 2 nights...so since a short trip if GF is on your must see list, I would do that or YC....Trip short enough at GF that won't cost that much more...OKW 1 bed. Have done that myself when I rented points super cheap but I wouldn't pick that over YC or GF...

Those are my choices! If me I would do the GF to see the new rooms bc trip so short.....and cost lower at 3 days vs 7 days....

I would agree for such a short stay, go GF... :-) I thought about Poly CL for a while, but with all the construction going on, I wouldn't want to be disappointed.

Here's a club level question that I have looked for but can't find the answer to so if it has already been asked sorry. Can the IPO's book a BOG FP lunch for me? I know they can book most ADR's but I like to do my own and already have for our next trip in Sept. On our last trip I booked BOG for dinner and really didn't like it but I'm sure part of that was due to the fact that we were sat out in the very dark West Wing section and I had to use a little flashlight to read the menu. So I'd like to try it for lunch since I've heard a lot of good reviews here for the lunch seating. We will be at MK for at least 2 days and have Liberty Tavern for one lunch and would like to try BOG for the other but don't want to stand in line for hours to eat. Has anyone been able to get a FP reservation through your club level staff?

If you're spending 2 of your 3 days at MK I would definitely do the GF. :thumbsup2 I love to be near the parks I plan to spend the most of my time. Plus the GF is awesome and one of my all time favorites. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the opinions--I am now leaning strongly towards changing to GF! All of the outer buildings have been updated, right? (RPC wasn't available for our dates, which makes me believe that they'll be rehabbing the main building then. Sadly, SL isn't available with an AP discount.)

I never asked, but I usually handle reservations on my own. I do think some of the simple requests I've put in lately have not always been handled very professionally--e.g., I asked for them to book my ME reservation and they sent me the link to do it myself. Sort of off-putting considering I don't make any requests and don't have them do anything for us.

Hi! Wanted to give a summary of our YC/ BWI stays from last week. We were at YC from 5/4 - 8 & BWI cottage suite from 5/8-10. YC has several new club CMs but everyone was pleasant & friendly. We were in room 5177, right over the back entrance. This room is close to the lounge & elevators. We usually request a quiet room but I made no requests this time. No problems with noise at all. Everything was clean & in good working order. There was a notice in the room about a helicopter fly over on Tues & Wed for "promotional" taping. We did not hear anything, but someone on another thread said they were woken up at 5 AM by this!

Breakfast & snack offerings were the same as always, but there are a few new things at 5 PM. There was a beef skewer: small sausage type meat wrapped with bacon. Yummy!!! There has been discussion regarding CMs now serving the wine & cordials. A small cart is set up in the hall just outside the lounge & the CM stands behind the cart. We don't drink, but this seemed ok to me. The CM did not seem to be "policing" guests & we saw many guests standing & chatting with this CM.

I did hear a family complaining outside the spa about not being able to use the lockers/ changing area there. As I was in the ladies room, the mother was ranting about paying so much for a hotel & having to use the bathroom to change for the pool. I have not had any thoughts on this previously as it didn't affect me. But this woman got me thinking: the rest rooms near the pool are clean, but get a little sloppy if lots of people track in from the pool. I would be really upset if I paid big bucks for a spa treatment & had to use a wet, smelly changing area after someone wandered in from the pool. I do expect a clean, pleasant changing area in a spa at home, so I am OK with the new policy.

We swam at Storm Along Bay Wed AM. The pool was relatively quiet with lots of chairs available. The hotel was fully booked with a large convention. They had a few evening events on the beach which shifted the movies over a bit, but otherwise didn't seem to effect things much.

I have wanted to try the BWI Cottage Suites for awhile & booked for 2 nights there with the AP 37% off. I am glad we only stayed 2 nights as we were rather disappointed. We walked over from Epcot & approached a CM outside the entrance. He was very friendly & called upstairs to announce us & he escorted us up. The CM at the first desk seemed very stressed & busy. He directed us to the desk inside for check in. Anita checked us in. We found her very unprofessional. She was rushed with us & mumbled so we could hardly understand her. It was not a regional dialect thing, as she said she was from the same area of NY state we are from. She was chatting & joking with another CM thru out our check in process. No info on the lounge or offerings except to say there was a sheet with lounge times in our packet. We had to ask how to get outside to our room. She mumbled something about a stairway, but after having her repeat it twice, we gave up & left to figure it out on our own. We asked about our luggage which was being transferred from YC. Anita said it would be delivered right to our room, no need to call. This was at about 2 PM. At 4:30, we called bell services. Yes, our luggage was there but yes, we needed to call & be in the room for it to be delivered. This is something the club CMs have offered to do for us in other resorts. We also found our magic bands did not work to enter the lounge area that night. The CM said they had not been coded at check in. He was surprised we had even gotten into our room.

We are used to YC, BC & RPC @ GF with the lounge & CMs right there when you get off the elevators. We did not like having to travel down the hall & enter thru an office area to get to the lounge. Might have been different if our room was inside the club area, but even then, we still would have had to enter thru the office area. We found the lounge area large, but not enough seating. a couple stood one night at evening service as there were no chairs for them. We missed the lemonade the other club levels offer. And the other clubs levels have offered bottled water, this was a large dispenser that tasted like tap water. Yuck.

As for the cottage: we were in room 1208 & I can say the rehab is definitely needed. The sofa fabric is worn, large white spots on the blue paint behind the sinks & the acrylic shower doors have water & soap residue all over. Our room had some type of dehumidifier behind the sofa. It was so loud we couldn't hear the TV or sleep, so we turned it off while in the room. I have never stayed in any hotel room that had anything like that. Both bathroom fans are on motion sensors. And yes, you need to move around while on the toilet or the fan shuts off after a few seconds. Very bizarre. However, it did not sense movement in the shower, so the room filled with steam. Fan came on after you got out. Not pleasant.

We kept the over bed fan on all the time. The downstairs area was nicely cooled, but the bed upstairs was warm so needed the fan going. The hairdryer & it's bag were dirty. I did find out stairs in a hotel room are not for me: after walking the parks all day the last thing I wanted to do was walk upstairs to bed.

I don't want it to sound all bad. The area with the cottages is pretty, quiet & peaceful. The room really is pretty & we liked the whirlpool tub. The muffins, bagels & fruit is much better than the YC's. Loved that BW has strawberries & grapes instead of just different melons. But all in all, we prefer YC.

Sorry I got long winded! Thanks for reading!

This BOG lunch FP thing is just a test run and I'm not sure IPO has any access to it. It requires you to log in to your MDE account. I definitely remember sitting with the CL CMs in March and listening to one explain to a guest how to book it, so I'm assuming you do it yourself or she probably would have offered to do it for the people.
It's a very easy process, somewhere on this Resort board there's a thread running with lots of info and opinions on it. :)
