EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

For weeks I've been watching, wavering, waffling....finally I booked the airfare for our fall trip today! It feels so good to have that done. :thumbsup2

I'm doing the wavering dance right now... I need to commit soon!!! :surfweb:

I have been looking at Beach Club for our trip this fall (still deciding between September or Novemeber). While playing around with dates November dates I noticed there are no club level Beach Club rooms available at all until November 21st. Everything before then is completely unavailable. I know there is refurb going on for the CL lounge and rooms this summer, but anyone know what the deal might be with November?

Edit to add: More playing around shows that the CL unavailability starts October 12 and runs all the way through November 21.

First time staying AKL club in October. If Itinerary Planning Office can't immediately get you the ADR that you want, will they keep trying? If so, for how long?

That is actually the proposed refurb period, not summer. :goodvibes

Have you emailed your request list to the IPO? If you have a request that is generally hard to get sometimes planning that event later in your stay helps. That way you can make the best use of the 180+10 for onsite guests.

You could include your question in the email. I think your best answer would come from them.

Ugghhh... I just can't decide what to do. YC CL is available at the discount for when we are going during a split stay. Right now I just have a yc GV booked. I can't decide if I should upgrade. there are 2 adults and 2 kids.

We will be at POR for 6 days prior so our park visits will be good and well into it and relaxing with SAB is definetly in order by these last 4 days at YC, with walks to Epcot, boat to DHS and casual jaunts to MK what we plan on doing. So for that reason I can see upgrading. But the King bed issue has me nervous, but they wouldn't put a family of four in a one king bed room, right?

I'm just not sure if it is worth it. Basically it would be $100 more a night, but we would eat breakfast , snack on food (but think my kids might not be for the appetizers) however, they would go for crackers and cheese and stuff like that. Do they still have Swedish Fish?
But, DH and I are definetly good for a drink here and there.
there are plenty of snacks at Epcot but we have no ADRs at that time, except for the Dessert Party, will eat at ESPN (a must do for my boys) and probably try B&C. So our food eating is pretty much flexible whatever we want at this point.

YC is the only resort considering the discount and SAB and location for us.

For those who have stayed at Both Regular YC room and CL YC was it worth it to you. I'm thinking I'm leaning to yes? Sometimes some of the comments here make YC CL sound not as great as other CL's, but if just viewing it separately, is it still good enough to be justifiable?

It sounds to me like you understand exactly what the perks are with CL. For our family breakfast is the biggest one. When we stay non-CL we are usually starving by the time we make it to a park. Then finding something to eat can be time consuming as well. The lines in the morning at the Main St Bakery are crazy. Walking into Epcot in the morning there really isn't anything to eat. Over at the Studios you can expect a long line at Starring Rolls. So if you decide not to do CL I would recommend either buying some sort of pastries the night before (Boardwalk Bakery), or going down to the YC lobby bar and grabbing something quick there. Afternoon snacks are another perk for my family. Typically we leave the parks by 1:00 or 2:00. So we'll hit the lounge on the way to the room for drinks and snacks. If we were non-CL we'd have to again try to find something in a park to bring back to the room, or in the hotel (ie. Beach Club Marketplace has snacks). Evening appetizers are hit and miss. Usually I always see things I like in there, sometimes the kids don't like any of it. But that's fine because I don't want them to ruin their dinner. I do all our dinner ADRs for around 7:00 PM. We rarely if ever make it back for the desserts. I think in March we might have made it back one night in time to try them.
We've stayed regular and CL at the YC. It is one of my favorite resorts. The location to Epcot and the Studios as well as SAB make it high on our family's list. If you decide to skip CL I think it's still a great place to stay, you can easily buy continental breakfast items and snacks around that area, if just might take a bit of pre-planning. :thumbsup2

I have stayed YC CL 5x. Last summer we opted to stay YC GV no club. Honestly I didn' miss it but a big reason was we were upgraded to lagoon view fourth floor and had no one over top of us (ie no 5th floor on this section of the building). We all joked though that we were starving by 10 AM etc. I absolutely LOVED this view. That being said THIS summer we are back to club level b/c DD bringing a friend and I really think the girls can use the lounge space while DH and I get ready etc. Breakfasts are huge plus. I had stopped at the grocers to get stuff for the room since we weren't on club last summer and that helped a little but not much. I really like being on the top floor and lucked out last summer that I was without staying club. That bugs me overhead noise....So I factor this into the cost as well.....I wouldn't pay 100 more for a standard club view b/c I love a good view...But if your kids are older and eat a fair bit I do think it is worth it.

If you are on CL, are you still buying those refillable mugs?

We are on the basic dining plan, so we'll get the mugs. I like them as souvenirs later anyway and it's a new design!! :-)

Some people have said yes. For us, the one time we asked, they had an ADR available for 9:30 pm and wouldn't do anything to try to see if a better time opened up since there was that one opening. Like really? So we just kept trying ourselves and did get a good time eventually.

As a side note, now with the cc guarantee, it seems MUCH easier to get ADRs with just a few really tough ones left.

We haven't stayed at the YC at all - stayed BC in CL and not and would always do CL going forward. Besides having breakfast as soon as you get up - just having the extra space to sit. My DS and I are early risers so we are go for breakfast together and we get to sit and talk and not wake anyone else up. That is a huge plus for us when you have 4 kids.

I will say that at $100 a day more if the snacks makes you skip 1 meal it could pay for itself. There are several times were we used the evening snacks as a dinner. If we have a TS lunch - then this is a great dinner. We usually do it 2-3 times for a weeks stay. Then we head back to the park for late night doing rides.

We are staying at the YC CL this summer - it was much cheaper than BC so we did it. We can't wait.

I'd lean towards "yes" too! I agree with all the comments posted, and would add that when we determine the value of CL, convenience (especially with kids) is huge. Breakfast alone seals the deal for us. With three kids, the ability to just walk down to the lounge and feed everyone (rather than in-room breakfast, CS breakfast or a TS breakfast for significant $$ and time) is wonderful. And we tend to be ready for that breakfast at different times (our boys range in age from 7 to 14, so you can guess who's first in the lounge and who's last!) so CL works perfectly for that. The last time we stayed non-CL was at Poly in January 2013 when Hawaii was closed for renovations - getting everyone ready for breakfast at Captain Cook's at the same time was not as relaxing as I would have liked!

As others mentioned, the extra space is wonderful too. The glass of wine before dinner - love it! And our kids are snackers, so snacks available throughout the day prevents a zillion requests for snacks in the parks. We still get our favorite snacks in the parks, but it's nice to know the basics are available in the lounge. So for us, it's not just the value of the actual breakfast, snacks, appetizers, wine and desserts, but the tremendous convenience of having them easily available. (Again, times 10 with kids!)

Good luck with your decision! Don't think you'd regret CL for just $100/night more!

This reminds me that I should add the value of a quick "date" when staying CL - we LOVE this! Our boys are ages 14, 13 and 7, so it works for us - not so much for those with younger children. Anyway, if we're back at the resort around 9:30pm or so and the boys are in their PJs and ready for a movie/bed, my husband and I get a 20-minute date in the club lounge. We pick a table in the corner and spend some time together. No guilt and a great way to spend some time together during a busy trip while our kids are just a few steps down the hall. It's particularly relaxing at BWI, where there are a few tables for two along the edges of the lounge. :)

Thanks for all the replies on my question.

I'm going to do it -- it'll be a nice treat for us.

Just one more thing, since we are 4 people they should give us the proper beds right? Or should I make a request?. It is the Standard CL rooms I'm looking at available with the discount, if that makes a difference.

The standard rooms in CL are exactly the same as in the rest of the resort. I don't think with 4 people they will let you book a King bed? So you'll have to book the 2 queen beds. You'll get 2 queens & possibly a day bed. Not all rooms have the day bed.

Hello! Are all CL rooms on the same floor as the CL lounge or do you have to book a specific room category to be guaranteed a room on the same floor as the CL lounge?

THANKS!!
