EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

So I've gotten my hello email from the CL CM's at Wilderness... They emailed me this packet of information that I've printed, and it looks like they want me to fill it out for my reservations, etc. I've already made some of my reservations, but others I either cannot get or the times are horrid... do CL CM's have any luck with better options? Do I email them or fill out this paperwork and send it back to them? Also, someone mentioned that CL CM gifts are appropriate where tipping is not, if they are able to accept, what type of gifts would you bring? *I was trying to think that I'm from MA, so maybe something New Englandish... like saltwater taffy or lobster pops or something like that...

When are you staying at the lodge? We're staying there in July, but no packet of info...does it matter that a TA booked the reservation?

They don't always send the packet. I usually email them and let them know what time we will be arriving and how ( bus, car etc). I also at that time make my room requests - not a guarantee but I ask. You can also request them to make any dining reservations you might want.

You just email IPO then, right? :-)

Ok, friends, I need some advice. We have an August trip planned, and we want to try to keep in under control cost-wise because we are also surprising DD with a trip for her 7th birthday Memorial Day weekend (also happens to be the 24 hr day in MK!). Plus we are taking a trip in Nov with my parents. We were going to scratch CL for Aug, but we tend to spend more time at the resort in the summer because of the heat and need to take breaks and swim. The extra space and not having to struggle with breakfast in the morning is all worth the cost of CL for us. Soooo, we're between AKL CL and WL CL for Aug.

We've never stayed AKL CL but we have stayed WL CL; however, it was 10 years ago on our honeymoon. We loved WL at the time! AKL appeals to us because of the whole feel and beauty of the resort. The kids are dying to try the pool. The fact that the lounge is on a different floor doesn't matter to us. The one drawback is the location. We feel like we might spend a lot of time getting back and forth to the parks.

Has anyone stayed at both AKL CL and WL CL? Any thoughts on overall experience with the resorts, location etc?

Thanks!!

If you're doing mid-day breaks, I'd go with WL. That's why I chose it over AKL. :-)

I email them my details, too. Basically who's coming, how we are arriving/departing and times, requests and anything else that's important to me.

I find it much easier than wading through that multi-page packet.

Thanks for the tip! :-) do you tell them any ADRs you already have booked? Or just if there are any you want them to try to get?

Happy to help! :goodvibes

I generally give them the reservation number date and time for anything I've booked.

Everyone will have their own opinion. Here is mine.

I have stayed club level at both WL and AKL. I prefer the WL for the following reason.

1. The staff at the Old Faithful Club is in my opinion the best club level staff.
2. Location is great.
3. I like that the rooms are on the same level as the club.

Why you might enjoy AKL more.

1. The AKL pool seemed larger to me and there appeared to be more seating. You indicated that you spend a lot of afternoons at the pool in the summer.
2. If you have never done it, you should. Drinking your coffee or beverage of choice on the balcony and watching the animals is a wonderful experience.

Good luck and have fun whichever one you choose!

I agree with PamelaKay :thumbsup2 And you really can't go wrong either way! :goodvibes Maybe let the kids pick, it sounds like they might want AKL.

Koh1977 - I don't usually bother giving IPO my ADRs, what I do is if they book one for me I just make sure to link it to MDE so I have them all in one place. :)

Okay-who has great knowledge of the GF RPC??? We are staying here in a few weeks. We have 3 deluxe rooms reserved. Last time we stayed RPC we stayed on the 4th floor, across the way from the lounge...with a view of the beach pool. We could see the Epcot ball far off in the distance (which also meant seeing their fireworks), and we saw the light parade nightly. I loved this location. I loved hearing the piano or the band from the lobby, and being able to let our oldest walk across to the lounge to grab a cookie while I watched from our doorway.

SO-with that in mind, what can I request for the room assigner to be in the same area? I *think* it might have been a south facing room? Not sure what it means to have a "deluxe" room. Oh-and to complicate matters we want to connect with my Mom and my aunt. I know, too many requests, right?

I would keep the room requests simple... maybe "theme pool view" and "connecting". If they don't have connecting available then maybe they can at least give you adjoining. :) Sounds like a wonderful trip!!!! :goodvibes

Too bad the magical IPO can't do anything about getting those hard to book flights. ;-)

Thanks for the advice on WL vs. AKL. We stayed in a 2 bedroom at AKL in 2008 but DD was 18 months old so she has no recollection. We loved it though! I think if given the choice the kids will likely pick AKL because it's a new resort for them and the pool and animals are a big draw. They did ask about Innkeeper's but we're doing that in November so I wanted something different...

If only I did not change my mind a million times ;) And if AP rates comes out, the options might change. Oh well, planning is at least half the fun!

Ugh, I know! Can we all commiserate on the miserable and depressing airfare situation. There's no way I would drive to Florida, we did it once and that was one time too many. :rotfl:

This was a HUGE deciding factor for us too... with 3 days at MK...it was almost a no-brainer we'd pick a MK (near) resort...

O.K. thanks!

Any suggestions on room requests for WL? We've only booked a "standard club level"...any suggestions? (although it's Disney and I'll be happy with whatever room they gave me...)

I put in a request for bunk beds, but that's it. :-)

For weeks I've been watching, wavering, waffling....finally I booked the airfare for our fall trip today! It feels so good to have that done. :thumbsup2

I booked award miles, so if I change dates, they have to be the same amount of award miles used...
