EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Just saw this BC CL review on the theme park board I thought I'd share with the group: http://www.disboards.com/threads/almost-just-back-many-random-thoughts.3390546/
Thanks for the link, I love a good review of BC CL. As for the food thoughts, I did appreciate that as well since we don't do a lot of TS so I choose wisely. My DH has said that about Ohana's dinner as well, it was his #1 favorite ever, then we had a meh experience, and then the next year was just okay. He won't even try it again :( Only breakfast ADRs for us this August, there's too many yummy snacks and CS IMO so we will be good to go :) Plus sitting down to dinner with 5 kids sometimes is more hassle than convenient KWIM

I agree. I usually schedule one sit-down per day but often times end up canceling a few. It's so hard with kids to know what they'll want to eat and when they'll want to eat it. Even their favorites sometimes they're just not in the mood for. Also I agree the food has gone down hill a LOT compared to pre-DDP days. I've got Ohana scheduled next week to give it another try, but we really didn't have a great experience there two years ago. And it use to be a MUST DO every trip.

I doubt they could add daybeds to all the rooms due to the dormers.

Yes I agree:duck:those would be the rooms where a daybed cannot be added. We've had an ongoing discussion over on the BC thread about word that they may have added daybeds to the rooms that could handle them during the refurb. My fingers and toes are definitely crossed that this happened! However, since we don't know for sure and we will be there in a couple weeks, I booked just a standard room -- I couldn't find a ratio of standard rooms with daybeds but I have to assume there are plenty. I'm sure we'll have a lousy view, but at least we will be well rested lol.

It's funny how much we've gone in this direction lately. We used to have two ADRs per day -mentioned this on the RC thread earlier. But with CL, the locked in times for FP+, and all the new fun places to eat, we're leaving things more flexible. With the cancellation policy, we can't book and change as easily, so we have to be more certain. And we visit frequently enough that we want to mix it up. We love places like Territory Lounge, Crews Cup and Tutto Gusto where we can sit down without a reservation. Also love Les Halles and excited to try all the F&G stands! So for six days, we only have 3 ADRs total - yikes!

As for what they are in the mood for, that's so true. When planning our January trip, our teens thought a return to Akershus would be fun. The day before our Akershus ADR, they started to get a little tired and were dragging a bit. That's fine, but not if we're paying for three boys to have dinner at Akershus because they want to be ironic. So they agreed we should cancel. And as much as they claim they can eat, they cannot snack around the World, have AKL CL appetizers and eat dinner at Boma - they just can't.

According to the notes I've seen, about 1/3 of the standard CL rooms at BC have daybeds. It's a far better ratio in standard than in garden view or water view.

Yes that's exactly why I booked standard. I have noted (pre-refurb) the ratio of rooms with daybeds: GV 9:1 and LV 26:7 -- not great odds! So I'm going on the assumption that SV has better odds. Sure hope so! We arrive on March 28, so I'll post what we get:duck:. I'll also see what info I can gather regarding if they were able to add any daybeds during the refurb.

I cancelled all of our ADRs the other day. I actually only had one a day scheduled but I was feeling too overscheduled. I thought that with Epcot so close, F& G booths and CL for snacks before dinner we could really play it by ear for dinner. I am so glad to read that I am not alone. I almost started to panic and make ADRs again. I might for our MK EMH night because DH doesn't really consider CHH dinner.

Wishing you luck! Let us know how it turns out! We're arriving for our possible dumpster view standard BC CL stay on April 4!

Same here! I make them, I cancel them. I told our kids that if they are really enjoying F&G, we can cancel our Easter Weekend ADRs at 50's and Chef's. I actually prefer the food at Les Halles over Chef's anyway.

We arrive 3/28 with a BC CL SV too - race you to the daybeds LOL Hope we both get lucky!

I really like Chef's (profiteroles!) but am looking forward to some yummy treats at Les Halles this trip.

Oh how funny that we arrive the same day, same type of room, same room request! Maybe we'll be neighbors :)

I doubt they could add daybeds to all the rooms due to the dormers. Here is the room we were given last March, if you notice in the corner the way the walls come in there's no way a desk could be there in order to allow a daybed across from it:

We had this exact set up when we stayed last year. The rollaway just barely fit directly in front of the balcony. So we got our one request, which was a large balcony, but no daybed - and the rollaway made it so that you could not go out on the balcony as it completely blocked all access. In the future, I will make sure that a daybed is the one and only request. I can live without the balcony, but 5 people with a rollaway in this set-up was not ideal. You really couldn't maneuver through the room very well. We put up with it without a fuss because it was such a short stay. I don't think I'd have been able to tolerate it for a whole week.

Gosh you sound exactly like me and our last experience. We were in lagoon view 5699 and had a large balcony (it was awesome!) but the cot totally messed up our access to the balcony. Like you, we were only there for a few days and switched over to Poly CL, so we dealt with it. Not to mention the jack-hammer noise every 10 seconds from being next to a service elevator....but that's a whole different topic lol.

You guys are braver than I am taking those crappy odds. I don't know if I'll return to BC CL with the kids again unless I book deluxe. It's sad, I love that resort, but I can't deal with my boys punching and kicking and screaming at each other trying to share a bed, and I can't deal with a roll-away. To me they completely ruin the room. Not only cutting off access to the balcony, which I love using, but sacrificing all the space for our luggage. I don't know, I just need peace and relaxation when I'm on vacation. I am sooooo looking forward to the villa at Kidani next week. I'm going to shut my bedroom door and enjoy the solitude. :D
Does anyone know if all RPC rooms have daybeds? I guess I should have verified that before I booked it! I just assumed they did.

We are staying at BC because of SAB and the location. I do know the risk. We're there for 2 days before our cruise. The kids really wanted to go back now that they are all strong enough swimmers to really enjoy SAB. I'm not worried.

Don't get me wrong, the Beach Club is an awesome resort for families and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for groups of 4 or 5 people. I was only referring to my own personal situation which is not normal. :rotfl: My teenage sons are possibly trying to kill each other. :upsidedow

Yes, they do :).

We had that same problem when our boys were teenagers so when we tried the Poly (not only experienced having that extra bed, but the huge room), we were hooked. Now we have a hard time booking anything other than a monorail resort as we love having a guaranteed daybed as well as the large, spacious room ;).

Great news! Whew! :D

I have heard this same issue with other people with teenage sons. Is it something in their high testosterone levels?? I swear they are fine at home in their separate rooms but when you put them together it's like two cavemen battling for territory! :rotfl: My oldest has suddenly rediscovered his love of wrestling and thinks his younger brother is his own personal test dummy. :scared:

I will be there after you guys, and I booked a standard view club level room too, so I will be very interested to hear what you all get! I am also a bit concerned to know how much light gets through the Roman shades if you end up getting a room with them because I read somewhere that this is a problem. I really don't want to deal with complaints from my kids who sleep until lunch time! I seriously hope I don't have a view of a dumpster either!! If you guys get a really good BC CL standard view room, would you please give me the room numbers?

I sure will post pics along with our room number.

We too are hooked on Poly CL -- especially love the spacious rooms with a guaranteed daybed. I fear we are outgrowing the BC rooms if they did not add a sufficient amount of daybeds. So sad about this because BC used to be our ultimate favorite resort.
