Expedition Everest Ride?

So who has been on the new ride? We go every year but it wasn't opened on our last trip. I have two children 12 and 8. They have each gone on most of the rides at WDW but I would like to know if this one is okay for them. Should I ride it first or do you think it is a family ride? Please help with info. I know about the yeti scene but I am more concerned with if it is too fast or the drop is too intense. Is the drop worse than Splash Mountain? Is it faster than Big Thunder?

We went on the ride in June. My boys are 9 and 5 and they LOVED it! It is a little scary when you got backwards, but other than that, it is not too bad. I don't think the drops are any worse than Splash Mountain or BTMR. Our whole family rode it twice!!! It is worth it! Have fun!!!

My DD6 rode with my husband in May. She is slight and the only thing she felt was that it was bumpy. My DH felt that was probably from him trying to hold her down so she wouldn't get to jostled- she is a tiny one.

If your kids like Space Mountain they should be okay on this ride. It's a bit faster and scarier than BTMR, but no where near as fast as RnRC. You go both forward and backward in light and in dark. The drops are not as big as on Splash Mountain. I would say it is a medium roller coaster.

it is a family ride and you dont have to preview it for your kids. they will love it.

We just got back and my kids(DS14, DS10 and DD6) all loved it! They wanted to ride it again but the stand by line was 100 minutes and we had just used the fastpass for it. We will definitely ride it again on our next trip in April 2007.

Thanks so much for the info. We love to ride a new ride all together. Last year it was Soarin. We are so excited about Expedition. We will for sure be using our fast pass too. Even in the off season the new rides are always packed. Thanks again!!
