Expedition Everest officially opens April 6-8...what does that really mean?

We'll be in the World 4/2-4/7...will this be open regularly by then so that we can ride it on our AK day (4/3)? Have they opened new rides in the past (Soarin', M:S) on a consistent basis before official opening?

We were over at AK on the 3rd and there were people on the trains getting to ride, maybe CM's?

They're having AP/DVC previews at the end of this month and then probably "soft openings" afterwards. As far how often it'll be open, I'm sorry I can't help you there.

We rode Soarin about 3 days before the official opening, so I wouldn't give up hope.

I talked to a CM working EE last week and he said he couldn't give me an official date of when it would be open. All Disney is saying now is "Spring 2006". He just said it would probably be a good idea for us to stop by during our May trip.

I know with Soarin they were pulling people at randowm before the actual opening --- I would expect the same with EE. Who knows maybe some DISers may be at the right place at the right time

I rode Mission Space about a month before it opened to the public. We didn't do anything special, just happened to be at the park one night when they were doing preview tests. Is something like this possible for Everest? I'll be there March 3-7...
Anyone in the know on this one?

The ride will officially open April 7, 2006. AP and DVC previews will be January 26-29. Guest previews will run various times between those dates. Mission: Space was open for previews about 3 months before official opening. Everest will be no different.

Oh boy - we are going to be at WDW 2/24-2/26 so that is probably to early.

I was also planning a long weekend (solo adult trip, yippee, with my sis and sis in law!!) the last weekend in March. Now I have to think about the first weekend in April instead if they can arrange it. I wonder if the crowds are much different between those two weekends. I didn't want to go to close to Easter week.....oh boy.

ugh - we're too early. We'll be at WDW 3/24-3/31
Lets hope for a sneak preview. If not thats the first thing we're doing in August

We got to see Stitch before they even had the AP opening! You just never know what to expect from Disney.
