Do you sometimes feel compelled to take a peek? Because you think you're the subject of a comment that you can't see?

I do.

But then I remember, there are reasons these people have pushed me to ignore them. One of them is called "blood pressure"!

I don’t take a peek at a particular poster but occasionally I will click to show ignored content if a thread is a topic I am really interested in. I mostly put people on ignore for attacking another poster. A couple of times a year I go through my ignore list and see if I want to give some of them another chance. I am not a member of the controversial board.

You're probably very wise...

Sometimes I do but for the most part, no. If I put someone on ignore, it means I don't really care to read their posts even if I'm quoted. This applies for any website not just this forum. If I block you, it's as if you do not exist in my mind.

I am not tempted to peek. I honestly have not thought of the ignore list in ages, I guess no one has been especially annoying lately.

There is not as much drama as there used to be.

I never put anybody on ignore - I will just ignore posts or certain posters on my own. It's easy enough to scroll by or not click.

I've used ignore if I realized someone's posts were bothering me because of my own issues. I generally still read them eventually, just at a time when I know I have the bandwidth. That little bit of control goes a long way towards reacting appropriately.

I occasionally will if I'm only seeing one side of a conversation. I usually quickly remember why I ignored them.

Generally, I put people on ignore who are consistently argumentative, talk down to others like they are scolding a small child or act like their opinion is somehow more valid than everyone else. We are all adults here, so anyone who can't be civil in their posts isn't someone I care to interact with. It is easy enough to temporarily unignore people by clicking the 'show ignored content' button on the lower right of any screen. Sometimes the context of a thread is lacking, so I unhide a thread to see what is being discussed.
