I'm working on an article where I answer these questions. Here are my thoughts.

1.) "It isn't Disney."

2.) "It's too expensive."

3.) "It's just all coasters."

4.) "It's another Six Flags."

Anyone else?

Not a won't, but a very sad can't:
It is too far away and so it costs too much to get there
boo-hoo. :(

I wish Universal Hollywood was more like Universal Orlando.

What do you mean "I won't go to Universal Orlando", isn't it part of Disney World?

They wouldn't let me in with my "park-hopper" pass.

Lol, Rhonda!

I think people don't realize how much there is to in just the 2 parks!

:D I had quite a time trying to explain to my own mother that Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World were 2 seperate places and that her 5 Day Walt Disney World Park Hopper would not get her into Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios.

Then I tried to explain that Disney has 4 theme parks and 3 water parks. Universal has 2 theme parks several miles away from WDW.

I finally just told her to give me x amount of dollars. I'll get your tickets and you just follow us. :D

really some people say all the time "its all coasters" but hey if you hate coasters- this is the place to go!

You mean there are people that don't want to go???

I had to explain it to my sister, too! "Which Disney Park is Universal, again???"

I hear ALL THE TIME "I don't like thrill rides, there's nothing for me there...."

I say DON'T TELL THEM! Keep the lines shorter! :D

I will have to circulate the rumor that it is just a park with a 5 star place to eat.:smooth:

I've been to IOA many, many times but I've never been to Universal. For some reason I just have no desire to. Maybe I will some day.

Here are my favorites...

Even with all the cutbacks, I just can't drag myself away from Disney for one minute..they are so much better than Universal...This is from a person who has never been within five miles of Universal...

I would feel disloyal to Disney if I considered going to Universal...yeah right, that is like not eating at Burger King as you would be disloyal to McDonalds....

I owe all my vacation money to Disney, they give me so much more for the dollar....yeah right, do they now send out bills....

There are some who will never even give Universal a chance, while others love it..I gave up long ago, if I tell you once how good Universal is and you give some dumb answer like the above I do not bother any longer...keeps less people in the parks, and shorter lines for me....:)

1. It's not family-oriented

2. The parks are not as clean

3. The employees are rude

I have been going to Universal since the very first time they opened their doors a couple years back every time I have come to Orlando for visiting WDW and have yet "to not see":

loads of families with children in tow of all ages varying from toddlers to teens enjoying the park rides and attractions, park areas that are always clean along with being well maintained during each visit, and have always encountered very friendly and courteous workers throughout the entire facility whether in gift shops/restaurants/ride operators...etc.

Oddly enough in talking with others, a great portion of the negative feedback people state about their families not visiting Universal are exactly some same things I have personally experienced before at Disney also at one point or another.

But, it seems that Disney is somehow given more creedance or justification throughout their expressions of dissatisfaction in comparison to Universal when I have discussed it with others, also leaving me at a loss at times.

We stayed at HRH last summer. Are van was broken into along with over 10 other vehicles.

We were given one night stay to be used in the next year.

I have asked my teenage children if they would like to go back.
One said he would rather stay at Fort Wilderness camp ground in a tent and he does not enjoy camping. My DD said she would be so worried that are vehicle would be robbed that she would not sleep at night. Maybe we could park at Disney and take a taxi to HRH.

Otherwise pool looked very cool. The FOTL was cool.
