Exchanging Old Tickets

I'm not seeing where it says old tickets. I am just looking to see where it is tonight, not actually going to exchange them yet.

It won't let me exchange them online. That's for old tickets from 2007-2010. Apparently I have to call to exchange the tickets. I'm so confused. lol

My husband and I had one day left on a multi day ticket from 1985. We were in high school then, so mine was under my maiden name. I brought our marriage license to WDW just in case they needed proof that the ticket was mine. They didn't ask for any ID, let alone my marriage license ha ha! Just exchanged it for a one day ticket (we exchanged it in 2014 at guest services at MK). Too bad they wouldn't let me keep the old paper ticket, as it was cool and nostalgic. I had asked on here too, to make sure I could exchange it. Robo, who knows just about everything and has been replying to your thread, told it would be easy and it was. Have fun!!

The Guest Services CMs were much more interested in looking at the "vintage" ticket than my ID. Took less than 5 minutes.

I just did a test call (didn't give her much info) but she was sure I wouldn't be able to use the other tree tickets as they are under my parent's and brother's names. I'm getting mixed answers. lol I just don't want to show up and not be able to use them. I'm not trying to get free tickets either. I'm so confused.

It would be cool to keep the tickets too though. One of them has baby Simba, two have Tinkerbell, and one has the candle from Beauty and the Beast.

I've heard of My Disney Experience. Robo, do you know if that is legit to exchange my tickets on there?

You can't.
It must be done in-person at a ticket booth or Guest Relations at WDW.

I think Robo works (worked?) in GS at WDW, so he is a great resource, especially when it comes to ticket-related questions.

I was wondering if he had worked there. Sounds like he knows what he's talking about. I think I am going to do what he says and wait until I get to the park to exchange the tickets. I'll have money set aside in case I can't use the three of them that aren't in my name. If I can use them, that just means extra money towards something else in the park!

I think you may be thinking of Cheshire Figment, who passed away last year. As far as I know, Robo has never worked at WDW.

I've worked at GETTING to WDW many times.
But, you're correct, I've never gotten a paycheck from them.

I will estimate that out of over 89,000 posts, at least 25,001 of them
have been about ticket issues.

And, the late, great, Cheshire Figment and I conversed many, many times over the years
on this board.
Whenever he upgraded his ticket sticky, he'd post me with the details.
And, Mike (CF's real name) would watch my ticket responses carefully.
He'd send me a note if I got off track, and set me straight.
Mike is the only DIS member that I personally met and talked with at WDW.
He... and his ticket wisdom... will be greatly missed.

It was seriously one of the easier things we did to exchange the tickets. I don't think they really cared at all whose name was written on them. I think your plan is a good one. I think it will work out, but if not you have a back up. I keep hoping to see Robo at GS one day and personally thank him for all his help to me and others over the years on these boards , but I'm sure that's not the name on his ID badge!

Well, there aren't names written on the tickets. I don't know if there are names in the computer system either. I was only four when I went so my mom took care of all that. Not sure how she booked the tickets as we didn't have a computer then. She probably called or something. I orgininally was going to save up to buy tickets anyway but then my mom gave me the tickets. It's good to have a backup plan anyway. Well, I know who to message if I have questions. I just like to get all the details I can. I ask a lot of questions before I do anything.

Cheshire Figment sounds like he was a cool person. It would have been fun to talk to him I bet.

We haven't discussed how many days you intend to spend at WDW theme parks on your upcoming trip.

THAT can make a big difference in which tickets you should use for that trip.

Please post with more info and we can make sure you don't make a ticket-purchase/use mistake.

Not entirely sure to be honest. I know we will be in Florida from December 31st-January 6th. My boyfriend and I might fly in a day earlier than the rest of the group. We are planning our trip together while his family does their own thing but we will kind of meet up. I know one day we are renting a car and driving two hours to Tampa to visit my cousin. I think maybe four or five days in the park? We might do some other things in Orlando. Probably going to skip Universal. I'm hoping to figure more of this stuff out tomorrow.

If you will spend 4-5 days in WDW parks this trip, you should not use the old tickets for this trip.
You should just buy new tickets for all days and hold onto the old tickets for a future trip of 1-2 days.

You would be using (the old) HOPPER tickets that are "worth" about $160 (or more) each, if used on one or two days...
and rendering them down to a "worth" of about $15-$30 each.

I guess it would be cheaper to get a package deal than use one day tickets individually is what your are saying?
