It's been a bad year for spider and wasps of all kinds. Haven't seen too many mice or rats this year, but have had skunks in our neighbourhood for many years. They tend to hibernate under the deck of our other place. Last fall DH almost stepped on one when coming off the deck last fall.

Here is WA house it is mice and spiders.

In AZ......lots of insects!! We have a pro come in every couple of months (it is the norm there)...mostly crickets, but also beetles, ants. DD called a couple extra times (yay you can do that) for a Black Widow and a scorpion!! Luckily those were the only sightings of them.

Hey, Nancy! What kind of landscaping are you going to have at your house in AZ? Will your yard be all rock with desert plants or are you going to have grass?

We have desert front......rock, couple trees and plants.
Back has grass on part and rock on part....more tropical looking back there. Couple palm trees and fruit trees and shade ones too.
Everything is very small right now ;), but cost a lot

We have it relatively easy in Ohio. Cute chipmunks are our main problem...we have to trap and release every few years from our garden. I feed the birds, and the chipmunks think the food is for them. Squirrels are somewhat of a nusiance, but not too bad where we live.

I can sit outside and read by my little garden pond in the summer, no mosquitoes here for some reason. Can't do the same during summers in Cape May NJ...lots of mosquitoes there this year.

However we do get lady bugs, or something like them in fall in certain years...they get in the house, it's crazy! Haven't seen them this year...yet.

If you were able to fly on a private jet to anywhere around the world, which one place would you go to?

Patsy remember your insect question, well how about a black bear instead?

John went out on the porch last night to unplug a Halloween decoration and just on the outside of our deck stood an 800 lb. black bear. He ignored John and stole our garbage bag.

That is the second time a bear has been that close since we moved here.

Tough question since I don't like to fly. Probably Europe somewhere.

Can't even imagine what your water bill will be like. But I bet it will be pretty when they're all full grown.

If I could use a private plane, I'd be coming to visit you in Hawaii, Patsy!

I had such a busy day yesterday that I had gone to sleep early. But then I woke up early this morning not being able to go back to sleep. So, I cleaned up, got exchange things done, and decided to come on the computer.

So today's QOTD is-
When you are not able to sleep, what sort of things do you decide to do?
