No way!! I am watching Christmas:santa: in July on QVC though!!Maybe I will find something on there! :thumbsup2 I did buy the wreath from Maine for my door on QVC last year. It's amazing!! I will get it delivered every year until I decided to stop it!! Well one down and a million to go!!:scared1:Every year I ALWAYS say I will start to shop during summer especially when I see something I know my kids or someone on my LIST will like!! And every year I am running around like a nut and getting stressed out 2- 3 weeks before Christmas and definitely not enjoying the season!! :sad2:This drives my DH nuts!! He always says I want to enjoy my holiday and I certainly can't do that in the MALL!! :confused3:laughing: Typical male response!! :rotfl:You think that after all these years I would have learned my lesson by now!!:confused3 :rotfl: I will be at WDW the week before Christmas!! I will definitely be doing some shopping there!!;)I HAVE bought the first gift of the season though!! Maybe there is hope yet!!!;)

I've barely thought about Christmas! But I don't have to do much shopping anymore, as the nieces & nephews are getting older, they have simple request: money! So I just sit down & write checks on Christmas Eve--so easy. And it also helps me to stick to my budget--I used to say I'll spend this much on each kid, but I'd see something perfect for one of them, so I'd end up spending more on each! Also, since it's just me & dad in the house, we don't do much decorating. We alternate holiday visits between NY & VA. 4 of my siblings live in VA--my 2 brothers live in Richmond, 2 of my sisters live in Northern VA--one in Falls Church, one in Ashburn. My other sister lives here in NY. So each year, we spend Easter & Christmas in 1 state, Thanksgiving in the other. So we go to a decorated house each Christmas anyway! It just is too much work for me & dad.

I've begun thinking about it some. One of the things that I think I'm going to get my kids this year is their favorite movie on DVD that we currently have on VCR tapes. Carol made a comment that she would love to have Beauty and the Beast on DVD. Does anyone know it it's out yet?

I have bought some gifts, but I'm way behind from where I'm usually at this time of year when it comes to my Christmas shopping. It's mainly because we went to DL in Feb, and kind of threw me off with my Christmas gift hunting. Have picked up a few things for the kids, but not much else. We have alot of people to buy for every year, so have decided to pick up some jams and syrups from a good company in Kelowna, and give that as gifts along with some inexpensive chocolates for Christmas instead. I'm also going to go through my leftovers from Christmas's past and anything that I don't want, will add to what I've already decided on. I did purchase an early Christmas present for myself this morning...a good low end ellipitical trainer to get in shape once the move is over. The price was too good to pass up. No excuses for not losing weight anymore. Have a great day everyone!

I think Beauty & the Beast came out on DVD a few years ago. But they are releasing them on blu-ray so there is a good chance it will be out on DVD again soon.

Mint, although I use the leaves from my bay tree a lot.

I would have to say basil! Love the smell of the basil plant growing on the windowsill in the kitchen!

I have Beauty and the Beast on DVD......I think Amazon has some links to sale of new ones still.
Thanks! I'll have to get on the ball and check it out.

Herbs, herbs????? :rotfl: Have no idea.

Well its hard to find a good bakery in this area.

1. Apple Pie

2. Eclairs

3. Apple Strudel

We have such great bakeries here in Boston especially in the North End!:laughing: I would have to say my all time favorites are, cannolis with chocolate chips(have to get my chocolate in there somehow!),lobster tails, large light flaky pastries shaped like a "lobster tail" filled with a smooth, sweet ,cream filling, an assortment of Italian cookies and a crusty loaf of rustic Italian bread!! I also have to say that there is a bakery that has great Irish bread too which I really love!! That's to satisfy the Irish half of me!!!;):rotfl: No wonder why it's so hard to lose weight!!!!!:scared1::laughing:

As for the QOTD yesterday, my favourite herb is Dill. The 3 things that I would purchase at a bakery, and we have a really awesome one in Ladner, 15 min drive from here, and across from our dentists office. I usually buy a Ladner Strudel (filled with cinnamon, custard, and almond paste), a filled donut, and some old fashioned strawberry filled donuts, as they make them the old fashioned way. Have a great day everyone!

We also have wonderful Italian bakeries here on LI--one is 5 minutes from my house. They make wonderful cannolis--they fill them when you order them so the shells stay crunchy. I also love their cannoli cream filled cake--layers of sponge cake, a layer of cannoli cream & a layer of chocolate pudding, all frosted in whipped cream & sprinkled with almonds! Yummy! And their Italian bread is to die for--when people came from out of town to visit us, one of their stops is this bakery. we also transport the bread & pastries to VA once in a while......;)

All of our local bakeries are either event specific or in a grocery store. I miss the home town bakery that you could walk in and buy cookies that were actually good.
