I find all of your responses very funny.

I consider myself very confident in talking to strangers (unless they are scary!!) I'm probably one of the least shy people there are!

HOWEVER, with the exception of the exchange board I rarely post on these boards. I feel comfortable with you guys. I occasionally post to some of the other threads, but I feel weird about it. Don't know why. I read A LOT of the threads and defintely have opinions or ideas on a lot of the questions/comments but rarely do I post them. I just feel very weird about it.

weird huh?

So I think its weird that some of you say that you are shy but have posts that number in the thousands or 10s of thousands!!

We're shy but anonymous here. Unless we post a picture so you can see what we look like, we can be or look like anyone we want to. Not that we do that by any means but the ability is there.

Just to clear up a misconception, my count is very high because before the exchange board I did a lot of bumping of the threads to keep them on the 1st page of the CB. Now I list all the links for the exchange sign-ups and the sent/received threads.

Also I am over on the DDA (Disney Design Addicts) thread and to keep the count high :teeth: I post to people individually instead of a multi quote.

I crochet a lot. I've made afghans for lots of people. In fact, right now, I'm making afghans for my college freshmen nephews in their school colors. I figure that will be a nice Christmas gift. I just hope I can finish both of them in time, otherwise they will be birthday gifts!

My post count is high because I have no life and sit at a computer a lot during the day :rotfl:
Actually it went high to start with because I was part of one of the cliques (no longer around), and it was fast moving.....maybe 20 pages a day!!
Also like Heidi, when the exchanges were part of the CB, we had to bump them a lot of they got lost fast.
And now the exchanges here (my main page).
And I also play games and the moves the post count pretty fast (when people are around to play).

I don't make presents for people anymore. We used to a lot though.

Its been a few years since I've done any crafting. In the past I would handmake all my Christmas gifts, I use to folk paint, ceramics, wood projects, stamping, and I've even done some baking for gifts, I gotten away from doing these crafts when I went back to work. Now that the boys are all in college I keep telling myself its time to start again in order to keep myself busy in the evenings, but instead I'm on this computer all the time.

My post count is high for similar reasons. I was on 2 clique threads for a while, would post all weekend on them. And now the exchange threads, the exchange chat threads....lots of posts there. and Nancy got me into the games, so I've been posting loads there.

And like I said, it's easy to sit at my computer & type my thoughts. I will never see 99.9% of the people I'm posting with, so that's not scary. I'm shy in real life, but not here! :rotfl:

I love to crochet but don't do it very often anymore. I did make a zig zag afghan for our Christmas swap last year. Are you using a pattern for their afghans or just crocheting?

And to answer the question, I used to make home made gifts a lot more often than I do now. But I still do occasionally, crochet an afghan, sew a blanket, make baked goods for the neighbors, etc.

I have a pattern--I'm making a ripple pattern. One nephew goes to James Madison, their colors are purple & gold, the other to William & Mary, the colors are green & gold. It's kind of full circle--I made them afghans when they were babies.

I am very crafty. In the past I have made jams, cookies, and painted crates filled with goodies. It all depends if I'm in the mood to do crafts, and if I get a really good concept for a christmas craft project. I also think that no one should have to defend their post count. We are all members of this forum, and our post count really doesn't mean anything, other that we are active members of this forum. Have a great day everyone!

Trish

They both sound gorgeous! And the ripple pattern was what I meant. It's my favorite to do.

I'm working on the purple & gold right now--it really looks good. I'll post a picture when I'm done.

I do a lot of baking for gift giving.

I use to make baby quilts to give to friends having babies. They take so long to make and I got burnt out on them. Also, most of my friends are done having babies!:rotfl:

I think one day I will get interested in it again.

One year I made the fleece blankets and matching pillows for my kids and all my nephews and neice.

I can draw or paint, but I like doing other crafts.

I found instructions for a cute pillow that is made weaving ribbons and then attaching to material and stuffing it. Very cute for a litte girl. I would like to make it, but only have one little girl in my family now. Maybe I will make one for myself.:thumbsup2

Wow, there are alot of creative exchangers here :).

Here is today's QOTD-
Have you ever tried making foil packet meals? If so, what do you like to put in them? For those of you who do not know what a foil packet meal it is a sheet of foil that you add in your meats, seasonings, vegetables, and such into, then wrap it up. You cook it onto coal, or a grill usually when you are out camping, or just on the grill at home.

Just about everytime we would go camping which isn't much these days since we have purchased our DVC and Marriott timeshares. We used to place hamburger, carrots, potatoes, onion, salt, and pepper. I believe that's it, and than we will place them on the open fire to cook. This was a very easy meal since I would fix it before we left home and freeze them, so we would just pull them out of the cooler when the fire was hot and ready.

No, never. I have a hard enough time with the crock pot and making a mess. I can only imagine what a disaster that'd be for me. I can see DH laughing now. :lmao:
