If you were told that you needed to teach a class on preparing a certain type of food, or drink, what would you choose to make?
I would tell them that, no, I will not be teaching any kind of class.

I posted this question on the Community Board as well, just to find out these answers...here are two QOTD questions.

*What is your favorite Thai food?
*What is your favorite Japanese food?

Thai - I've only eaten once at a Thai restaurant and found the food, for the most part, too spicy for me. Of course, it may have been what was selected. We all picked something different and shared.

Japanese - I'm not sure that I've ever eaten at a restaurant that serves Japanese food.

Pad Thai.

I've learned to like some sushi....some I'll eat just to gross out the kids!

You could get your food mild, and let the waitrees know that you are not able to handle any spicy foods so for them to recommend things to you. Usually things like pad thai, chicken satay, are safe.

My favorite thai food is pad thai-spicy, but it does depend on how it is prepared.

My favorite Japanese foods are shrimp tempura, and sushi...but I have alot of Japanese foods, as well as Thai foods that I like.

I don't know that I've ever had Thai food. :confused3

I like sushi and anything tempura. :teeth:

What was your most scariest experience that has happened to you?

The one that leaps to mind is when my son was missing. We were at DH's aunt's new home - right across from a lake. My son was about 6. He just disappeared. We were frantic. We looked for about 5 mins then I went into one of the bedrooms to call the police. I was actually on the phone with the dispatcher when I found him. He was hiding behind the door all curled up. Turns out he thought he was in trouble. Scared the life out of me. I get teary now just thinking of it. It brings back so much emotion.

Tie for second would be when my nephew with leukemia went into a coma (he was 9) and watching my dad have a heart attack. Both are doing fine now by the way.

Glad to hear that they are both doing well.

My scariest, and one of my most saddest, time was finding out that my baby had no heartbeat.

Look into your pantry, what could you make your family for dinner, and don't forget dessert.

Wow...my family could make a whole bunch of things. I keep canned meats and vegetables on hand at all times. Plus there is always meat in the freezer. I live about 30mins from the nearest grocery store and I don't have a vehicle during the day (DH uses it for work). So when I get to go out food shopping I really go food shopping. :rotfl:

Plus the power around here tends to go out often. We have lots of trees and old lines, and then there's our local neighborhood pole taker outer! (He's about 19 and has taken out 3 poles in the past year. Always one vehicle accidents and somehow there is always a deer involved - why the boy still has his license is beyond me!!:scared1: )

Here's an example:
Chicken, white rice, any veggie of choice and brownies from a box mix. The chicken and white rice could be seasoned with any number of seasonings I have in my pantry.

As a good Italian I always have pasta and sauce ingredients. One never knows when you will need to cook for 50 guests.

Most scariest experience? The first thing that comes to mind is when I was about 10 - 11 years old. We had a bad thunderstorm in the middle of July where the sky turned black in the middle of the day. These kind of storms are not normal for that time of year. Anyway, I was standing in the kitchen when the lightning stuck and the thunder boomed and the lights went out. I was already afraid of storms and to have this happen petrified me.

What's in my pantry? I can fix several meals. I grocery shop once a week buying groceries to tide us over for the next week. I stock up on BOGO items so there's always something to fix. As for desserts, I could make cookies, a cake or brownies. Tonight we are having Border Skillet Chili with cornbread.

Pantry-Pasta and ingredients to make sauce. Freezer-I usually have steaks, shrimp and I just discovered the Jenny-O turkey breast that goes into the oven frozen. Dessert? Flour and sugar, etc so just about anything! I'm making the Barefoot Contessa's brownies today....yum!

Scariest? Lost youngest DS when he was about 3 during MVMCP, about 5 minutes before the fireworks started ....so you couldn't look through the crowd. It took about 20 minutes before security said they found him. As I was talking with security, a man walked past and doubled back to ask if I was looking for a little boy. He then said he had just taken him to the lost children center. Apparently, there were quite a few kids there for him to play with.:goodvibes

 So sorry to hear that Patsy!

Thank you.

As for todays QOTD, my pantry is stocked with almost everything I would need to make all kinds of different dishes. I am still trying to think of what to make for dinner tonight. I think my daughter would like shrimp tempuara, so I might do that along with vegetable tempura, miso soup, rice, and other side dishes.

favorite, pizza
least favorite, anything that got contaminated by the pear juice
