If I had thought of it sooner, we could have sent out a few Merry Christmas in July Christmas cards. I read that someone is going to give each of their family members a Christmas gift which I thought was fun and a neat idea, but I gave my daughter a new Webkinz, and she has been recieving this and that as gifts, so I am passing on that idea this year.

Happy Birthday Kim!! :wizard:

Oh I love Christmas is July! I tune the tv into QVC all day long! It always puts a smile on my face. :goodvibes If my new mixer were here by then I might would cave and bake cookies even though I am not supposed to eat any. ;)

So, we did feel some of the effects of the tropical depression. There was the calm before the storm, then once it hit, there was windy, heavy rainfall, and thunder. But it is now back to normal more or less with no wind.

Todays QOTD is-
*Do you like storms with thunder, lighting, rain... or are you someone that gets scared and worried? What do you like to do when you are in a storm?

Glad it wasn't too bad for you, Patsy.
I love storms...as long as everyone is home and safe. Love thunder and lightning. Just sit around and listen to it.

I also love a good thunderstorm. Just the right amount of rain for the ground and no destructive properties.

Glad everyone is okay where you are Patty.

As for HP, I started reading at 5pm last night and finished at 3:30 this morning. She did a great job with one.

I love a good storm too. Of course MUCH better when I am not driving in it! :rotfl2:
I never knew it could rain so hard until I moved to FL. Sometimes it is like someone just throwing buckets of water all at one time. Even a poncho and an umbrella won't keep a person dry.

Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes!! I had a really nice day with my family.

I'm glad you weren't too bothered by the storm Patsy. I love thunderstorms. I don't like driving in them and I'm not fond of watching the lighting. But I love the thunder and driving rain. I was just saying to my DD15 that we need a good thunderstorm. She agreed. She doesn't like the lighting either. Now Dh will sit and watch it out the window. :scared1: Now my poor dog just hates them. She gets so upset by it all she doesn't know what to do.:sad2:

I used to love storms, until lighting struck us 5 times in 8 years (same house). Now I hate them.

I don't like storms, especially when there is wind and rain. We have many trees around our house, so you never know when one of them may fall down.

I used to think storms were sort of romantic back in NY, when the thunder and lightning seemed a good distance away. But here in Florida I HATE them! Tampa Bay is the lightning capital of the world I heard on the news last night. Some poor kid got zapped walking along the beach -- wasn't even raining yet. Another man got zapped reaching for his car door handle - blew right through his thumb and out his foot.

No, I don't like storms at all.

ooo can anyone join in with this chat?

I have a gift closet, well it's a box in the closet. If i see things people will like or stuff in the sale i buy it there and then. I also put little things in there for exchanges if i see some appropriate. Although i do have a tendancy to forget whats in there and buy more stuff!

I don't have a gift closet, but I will pick up things that are "perfect" for somebody I know and keep it until Christmas.

::yes::

I have a closet in my bedroom I use (part of it). Right now it is low. I am trying to get things out.
I have lots of Yankee candles and accessories, lots of Bath & Body work products and then various odds and ends I have picked up for specific people.

I also have one of my hall closets that I use for exchange stuff....the floor part. But it has a 5 drawer plastic thing full of things, as well as 4 shoe boxes and more just sitting on the floor. Working on getting that cleared out too.

:thumbsup2
I have one of those 4 drawer plastic thingies. I pick up stuff I see on sale that someone might like and also stuff for exchanges. Even tho' I hadn't done an exchange in a while I'm now jumping back in. :goodvibes

I have a gift closet. I had to many things around the house, so my husband and dad had built me a storage room outside. It has many shelves...and I use it as a storage as well as my gift closet. It has exchange items, gifts for birthday, Christmas....

I have a gift bin. I started my Christmas shopping already and I have that stuff stowed in there. I also have a 4 drawer unit in my closet for exchange stuff.

I'd LOVE to have a storage room. I live out in the boonies (yep, there are Boonies in NJ :rotfl: )and I like to stock up on things...just in case!!

I do have an armoire drawer for any extras I buy. If I see something nice and deeply discounted I like to buy it, even if I have to save it for later.
The lower drawer in the armoire is boxed pins for trading.

Harry Potter fan here! I received the book in the mail on Saturday and began reading it yesterday. I'm past the 500 page mark now. I'm trying to get through it before someone spills the beans.

Thunder and lightening don't bother me, it's the wind I don't like. I live in Tornado Alley.

I used to have a gift closet when my kids were little and went to tons of birthday parties.
