 We're all sharing a bug here, too. I've started subbing as a teacher's aide in my DSs school, too, so I'm not around much.

My favorite thing to eat on Turkey Day are the sweet potatoes--I think because that's the only time I make them!

My inlaw's stuffing takes a close 2nd, but like Debra on Everybody Loves Raymond, I am not allowed to have the recipe! :rotfl2: I ask for it every year, and get some lame excuse. One year it was "there are too many ingredients for you". :crazy2: I really can cook, not just saying it to look good here. Funny part is I do have the recipe, (they don't know) but like seeing what excuse they come up with next.

My favorite is pumpkin cake! Or even better pumkin cake roll. Mmmm....
Used to get this alot when we lived in Pennsylvannia.

Patsy & Lynn hope your family's are feeling better soon.

Kim, I am coming to your house Sat. I just love turkey and could eat it all the time. Have a safe and fun time on your trip.

I think it would be so much fun to be at WDW for a holiday! But I always chicken out thinking it would be too crowded.

Have a great trip, Kim!

Nancy, we had a great time! We ate and drank ourselves around the Food and Wine Festival, which we've never been able to do before. It was really good for us to have some time together without the kids.

Had to promise them a trip next Oct, tho. How soon can I put up a ticker without looking too pathetic? :rotfl: I think seeing 330 days or so would make it worse!

:) I put the counter up as soon as I have a date. Just having one makes me feel better ::yes::

Anyone been gobbled on the exchange board yet?

Favorite TG food....I'm with Heidi. Turkey but the day after in sandwiches.
If it has to be that day, dessert. Whatever that might be. It changes here every year because I am the only one that likes pumpkin pie :(

Check your pm ;).

I think the gobbling had started on the budget board.

Another DISer and I were talking about the Budget Board's trade post. It is where you list what items you have and what items you are interested in....and if you see someone else list something that you want to trade, then you pm each other.
I wonder if we could do something like this on this board.

Isn't there something similar here??

I saw the gobbled turkey on the CB. I never go to the budget board. I hate budgeting :rotfl:

There is one that is a would you like type of thread, but not a trade thread.

I haven't read this thread recently, but when I see the Weather Channel, I always am wondering, Is Meriweather dry? in a safe part of the state? The weather reports from Washington state are so bad sometimes.

Thanks for asking, Bobbi.
We are safe. I live on a hill. But the road to town is between two forks of one of the rivers that floods. It is a mess down there, but the road is usable.
There has been a lot of destruction :( Very sad to see.
Clean up is going on but it will be a slow process.

I'm glad that you are safe, but it must be hard for you to see that devastation. We lived in Lower Makefield/Yardley, not near the Delaware, but when the Delaware floods, it does affect the whole community.

We've lived in this house for 20 years and this is the 4-5th time the river has gone over the roadway :( Not fun if we have to drive around, but doable.
But this is about the 3rd time we have seen the massive destruction and the slides (which are still occuring) :(
And....it is always in Nov.
the rivers have all receded now, even though we are still getting rain, but the slides are the big problem now.

I have not been keeping up with this. This is so sad. I hope that it is a very Happy Thanksgiving this year.

Nancy - Be Safe

Thanks Heidi and Lynne! I'll try to have fun on my trip but...

I BROKE MY BIG TOE!!!! It hurts something awful!! I hope the pain subsides soon. Did ya ever want to have a do over day? I've been putting ice on it and "trying" to stay off my feet. Not an easy task with so much to do.

Wish me luck!!
Kimba

O' Kim :grouphug:

pixiedust: that it stops hurting soon. I recommend Tylenol.
