Advent calendar help-
I am putting together an advent calendar for the first time for my 4 year old daughter.
It has 24 pockets in which I will put pieces of paper with activities written on them and such. I will also include little surprises in the pockets...but I need help thinking of things to do.

Here are some things that I am already planning on-
*Making snowflakes and decorating her room.
*Writing Christmas cards to her friends.
*Making cookies and other Christmas treats with mommy.
*Drinking some hot chocolate while reading a new Christmas book.
*I have some Christmas books and activity books that I bought for her, so will do those.
*We will be putting together Christmas craft projects.
*Assemble the gingerbread house that we bought.
*She will be able to open a present from under the tree on certain days.
*Watch the Peanuts Christmas video.
*Make cinnamon ornaments for the tree
*Make bird seed ornaments for the birds
*Start making thank you cards.
*Put together a Build a Bear reindeer set.

What else?

How about buying a toy for the Toys for Tots program, then dropping it off at the collection point. Could she help you do some wrapping? We love to put on Christmas carols and wrap presents. We also do a Christmas lights drive. The kids put on their PJs and we all pile in the truck with some microwave popcorn and go looking at Christmas lights. We drive all over. My kids really look forward to this even my 14yr old!
Anyway just a few thoughts! This sounds like a cool idea by the way!

Patsy

Writing a letter to Santa

Going to the beach and making a sand snowman(since you don't get snow)

Do you have family nearby? Pick a day and go caroling. (could do this for friends too)

Going to the beach to make a sand snowman is a cute idea.
Yes, we live with my parents... but we don't do any carolings. I don't think anyone else other then my kids would want to hear me singing :lmao: .

Heidi, yeap it is sure a good kind of busy. I am loving my new little guy so much! He is such a sweetie pie. :)

Patsy, he is waking up usually 1 to 2 times a night. How is your little guy doing? Is he waking much at night?

He is doing good. He weighs 15 pounds...how much does your little one weigh?
Brandon wakes up 2-3 times a night which is an improvment, but he usually goes to sleep from 10:30-1:30.

Thank you.
The Toys for Tots idea is a very giving and creative one.
My daughter loves to wrap presents with me no matter if there is an occassion or not, so she will be wrapping some presents. I will be taking her shopping for her to buy some presents for her to wrap and give out. We also go out driving to look at the Christmas lights here.

If you kids like your singing, than that's all that matters. :)

Usually the weekend after Thanksgiving but since we'll be in Disney then this year then the weekend before Christmas!! The sooner the better for me!!
I love Christmas!

I use to decorate December first, but since DH wanted an artificial tree last year I decorated Thanksgiving night.

I plan on doing that again this year too.

I like to decorate as soon after Thanksgiving as my work schedule permits...although, as I am currently snowed in at my house today I kinda want to start now, lol! I definitely think my Mickey lighted wreath would cheer me up from this dreary gray snowy day! :thumbsup2

The first tree is going up today. The second over the weekend. Then we will add more as the time allows.

When we were getting real trees we did it 3 weeks before Christmas. Now with my artificial pre lit 9 ft. slim, we get that thing up on Thanksgiving weekend! I love to decorate for Christmas. It is my favorite time of the year!

I am glad there are many people on here that like Christmas as much as me. :thumbsup2

I though you would call me crazy for decorating so early.

:santa: We usually get our Christmas tree either the night before Thanksgiving or on Thanksgiving morning. I call all the stores trying to find out who will have their trees first.

My little monkey is close to 10lbs. He is such a little runt..lol It is so weird b/c Ethan was always on the very big side and Landon is just so tiny!

OOOHHH Christmas talk. I am a Christmas nut!

Last year we decorated the 2nd weekend of November. This year we are planning for the 3rd weekend (weekend before Thanksgiving). We love having the house already decorated come Thanksgiving.

We usually bake things like cup cakes/cake, sausage balls, cookies, etc.. and we play tons of Christmas music and movies and get the house all decked out. I love it!! I am sooo looking foward to it.

:santa: :santa: :santa:

Awww he is a little thing. My daughter wasn't as big as my son is now. I think he will grow taller then everyone in our family.

Do you have any items that you just can't seem to find even after searching everywhere for it?

No I am pretty good at remembering where I put things.

Happy Halloween Exchangers.
So, what does everyone have planned for today?

Shayla has been looking so forward to this day. She started recieving Halloween things from last week, and she had already tried on her costume.

She will be a witch, and Brandon will be a wizard.
