Cupcake shops seem to be a big hit these days opening up in different states. Is there a cupcake shop near where you live, and do you frequent it?

What is your most favorite cupcake combination?

Yeah it's the same here! I don't like them but I love making them! My friend was in a cupcake shop in London recently and sent me a pic of them! OMG they looked incredible! There's a woman who does muppets ones and they're awesome! Mine aren't that creative but it's fun to do with my daughter!

Do you have any good recipes for cupcakes, and frostings?

I like to make the tye dye cupcakes.

My favorite would be carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. They are so small, and expensive here.

Oh now u guys do all fancy things to your cupcakes! We have vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing, that's it! Tye dye would be good to make! I've got tiny wee butterfly cutter to make glitter butterflies for the cakes! Super cute:)

When eatting at a buffet, do you leave a tip for the waiter/waitress?

It depends on how helpful they have been to us. If they refilled our drinks and took away the plates and brought new ones- yes! If we refilled our own and all we had was a stack of plates- usually not. It also depends on interaction other than maintaining our food levels...... but to tell the truth- we really don't do buffets anyway! :rotfl2: It's a rare occasion.

There are many ethnic noodle dishes out there. Some have sauces, while others are in soup broths... what are your favorite noodle dishes?

No there isn't one within walking distance here. My favorite cupcake combination... probably chocolate cake with buttercream icing. But I also like gingerbread cupcakes with a cinnamon cream cheese icing.

Yes usually but just a small one.

ah.... I'm going to stick with spaghetti ;)

(and I do have a twitter account but I don't get on it much.)

Lasagna, Alfredo and almost anything Italian. Although, I do love Asian style noodle dishes as well, I just can't spell any if them lol.

Jennifer, what sort of Asian noodles are they?

I like ramen, somen, udon, pho, pad thai, rad na, chow mein..... I had pad thai today for lunch!

I remember getting a Nintendo when I was in grade school....the very first generation of Nintendo. :) I remember playing Super Mario Bros.

Today is my son's birthday. So lets put up a QOTD that is birthday related that my daughter came up with.

As a child, what was your most favorite birthday present you had gotten?

Looking back, my favorite birthday gift would be taking a day trip to Chicago with my family, and I also got to bring a friend. We spent the day exploring the museums and walking the Miracle Mile. :)

That sounds like alot of fun. Wish we lived somewhere where we could just drive to another state to do something fun.

Growing up, what type of arcade/t.v. games did you play? Ex. Pacman.

We played pacman and a few Mario games.

hmm.... It would have to be my beanie babies. I got a beetle, pelican, and a butterfly. I LOVED them.

All of the Fall, and Winter holidays will be here before we know it. Are you getting prepared with your Christmas gift list, or are you waiting to shop till the last minute. Or maybe waiting till Black Friday? How soon do you mail off your Christmas cards, and presents? :santa:

:wave2: Interesting question. I've started Christmas present shopping. Been acquiring presents since about March this year. If I see something I like (and on sale), I buy it. Come November, I start pulling things out of the cupboard and allocating them to people. Then I plug any gaps.

Christmas cards....I start that in November as well. I have a list of about 100 people that I send cards to; so I aim to write about 20 or 30 a week. I like to hand write them; rather than type something up and print off en-mass. I aim to mail my cards in the first week of December as I have a few international friends in my list. That way, the cards get there by mid December at the very latest.

Last year, I pulled out my Christmas tree in early November. I figured that if it was good enough for Disney, it was good enough for me! :thumbsup2
I think I might do the same again this year. I liked looking at the tree for an extra 3 weeks.
