Christmas shopping!

What is your most favorite winter activity?

Hibernating! I stay inside mostly. I'm not a winter person. I snuggle under a blanket usually on the couch with a cup of hot tea and read a lot. (and surf the Disboards).

Are there restaurants, stores....in your area that are offering special gifts when purchasing gift cards for the Christmas season?

Ex. If you purchase a gift card at a coffee shop, they will give you a small free coffee.

I know that there are some but I couldn't tell you who at the moment.

I know there are a few restaurants offering a free $$giftcard if you purchase like....100dollars worth giftcards.

Have you ever flown on a hot air balloon? How was your experience? Would you do it again?

If not, and if you could pick anywhere to fly over, where would you choose?

I've never ridden in one and don't think I ever would. I don't care for heights.

But, if I ever did, I think it would be beautiful to fly and look at Christmas lights. But I don't know if they fly at night or during the winter.

I have never gone on one, and they do not have them here. With being afraid of being that high, and since I also get motion sickness, I would have to pass on going on one. But, I do think it would be beautiful, and a memory to remember.

If you were to attend a holiday potluck party, what would you bring?

It all depends on what they need and the theme of the dinner. For a generic meal, if they needed a meat dish, I would probably take Dorito casserole. For a vegetable dish, green bean casserole or corn casserole. For a dessert, brownies.

When both of my kids were born and for surgery.

Yes. The parade is not as long as it used to be because part of the route is on a major thoroughfare in town. Different organizations make floats and there are three trophys given. The two high school bands march together, the drill teams march also but separately I think. The Sheriff's Posse ride their horses as do a local equestrian group. Some organizations just walk with no float. Local public officials and pageant winners ride in expensive cars. A local antique car club might be there. A firetruck and police car rides along turning on it siren occasionally. The Shriners usually are there. Some people walk along and give out candy, others coupons for local businesses. And, of course, Santa brings up the rear. It's a pretty big production. It got so large that they finally had to put a cap on the number of entrants. I remember once when the kids were little that there were over 100 different floats/groups walking in the parade.

We do have a parade, and many people come out for it. There are floats with lights, marching bands, .... my kids clubs are in it, so this will be our fourth year being in it.

well my neightborhood doesnt but the downtown area does. there are of course floats, balloons, santa, elves, etc..

It's cold and rainy here. I'm hearing that it may snow next week.

I like the smell of fresh Christmas trees a little. I really like the cinnamon smell this time of year.

we had our parade today!! my dd was in it for the 1st time!! of course it had to rain on and off, but not to bad!! fun times!! one of the winners was 'A Christmas Story' even a kid in a bunny costume!! LOVED it!
