Joe would probably choose Jack In The Box. He says they have the best deal around. I don't know where I would choose. I don't normally eat fast food breakfasts.

The only two places here that I know of that has drive thru for breakfast is McDonalds, and Burger King. I would usually get a sausage biscuit. But if I just wanted something to drink, I would go to Starbucks, or Jamba Juice.

May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii. People celebrate with hula preformances, lei contests, people give each other leis..... and other cultural events.

Is there a particular day that something like such is celebrate in your state or country, and if so what do you do?

Hi Patsy!
Well, we celebrate "El Dia del Niño" , it means the "Children's day or day of the children .I remember when I was a kid, we used to get presents from our parents, grandparents etc, the rides at the amusement parks were free for all kids, there was NO school :woohoo: it was a lot of fun. :cheer2:

Cinco de Mayo, May 5th, is a day that lot's of people, not just Hispanics anymore, get involved in. Then there is Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, all the standard ones.

Off hand, I can't think of really anything around here that is a special day besides the above. Unless you want to add the festivals, fairs, etc.

Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a regional holiday in Mexico, primarily celebrated in the state of Puebla, with some limited recognition in other parts of Mexico.
The holiday commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of Mexican General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.

Cinco de Mayo is not "an obligatory federal holiday" in Mexico, but rather a holiday that can be observed voluntarily. While Cinco de Mayo has limited significance nationwide in Mexico, the date is observed in the United States (also voluntarily) and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day,[8] which actually is September 16, the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico.
It's a fun day too :yay:

Chores....

At what age did you give your children chores, and what were they?

What type of chores did you have as a child?

Did you get an allowance?

I began teaching them how to make their beds at age 5. Before that all they had to do was pick up their toys. They began learning to clean their own bathroom about 12 years old. They also were in charge of seeing that their rooms were cleaned by that age. It's hard to remember now when they began doing different things. It was a gradual process.

The chores I had while growing up was making my bed, picking up after myself and sometimes the dishes. We didn't have a dishwasher until I was a teenager.

I did not get an allowance and neither did my children.

I think I will start giving my kids a chore or two to do each day over the summer to give them some type of responsiblity.

No, unless I go out for lunch to eat Mexican food with a friend.

If you were to own an upscale hotel, what would you name it?

If you were to select three restaurants to have in your hotel, what restaurants would you choose, and what type of foods do they serve?

Margaritas and Mexican food! Plus it's my birthday.

Happy Birthday a day early! :cake:

Revere's, why, I don't know. It just popped into my head.

Coyote Rojo - mexican
Zapatas - gourmet pizza
Culpepper's - steak

That way, I'd have a little of just about everything.

Susan, I would go to your restaurants :goodvibes.

Not sure what I would call my restaurant, but I would have a Japanese restaurant, a family style restaurant, and...hmmmm not sure.

Those are all three restaurants that we have here in town. I wouldn't necessarily eat at Zapatas. I've eaten there before and prefer Palios but Zapatas is more upscale and that's why I chose it. They both serve "designer" pizzas instead of the typical Pizza Hut ones.

I'd like to go out to breakfast on Mother's Day and then lunch also. Am I greedy or what. :rotfl:

I already recieved my Mothers day, Birthday, and Christmas presents from DH, as he's letting me loose in DL solo for 9 days in Oct, after I found cheap airfare to DL. An Orchid would be nice so that I can slowly kill it (I have a black thumb when it comes to Orchids, even though I know alot about them). Have a great day everyone!

Trish
