I have a question for all of you. When you are trying to cross a crosswalk...not in a city where there is a bunch of people trying to cross at once at a streetlight...but somewhere that is more rural or a side street. Do you say thank you to the cars that stop for you?

I wave thank you no matter where I am - other than a place like NYC in a mob...but if one or two of crossing a side street, I will still wave a thank you. So, city, town or rural, always wave thanks to the driver. :)

I do usually wave to the people that stop....especially if it's a crosswalk where there is no streetlight.

I do the same thing Susan. But, I came across so many people today either walking across the road, or people that were driving wanting to turn, so you let them go.....and 95% of them did not say thank you. :sad2:

If you were in elementary school, and were to bring home lunch, what three things would you want to bring? Ex. Sandwich, soup.....?

I always took my luch all through school, hated the school offered lunches.

I took a pb&j and usually a cupcake, would buy a milk.

Yeah, I know. Sad, isn't it? But I just keep on being friendly and polite. What goes around, comes around.

Was thinking back to my elementary school days and trying to remember what I used to take for lunch. Almost always a sandwich. I don't think I took chips back then, not sure when eating chips became something we did. I do remember the old "you can't eat just one" Lays commercials but I think I was closer to junior high age then. I think a time or two I took soup but liquid in the thermos could be quite messy if you didn't screw the lid on right. I did take milk some but mostly bought it in the cafeteria. I probably took fruit, can remember eating plums at school. And cookies.

I never took packed lunch in primary school. All our food was cooked fresh on site and it was actually really nice food. I usually opted for the salad or on Thursdays it was roast dinner day which I always had with home made chocolate sponge pudding and custard for desert.
I guess if I took packed lunch I would have taken a sandwich, kiwi fruit and a bag of chips.

I attended Catholic school and there was no lunch offered so we always took a lunch - think mine was usually a sandwich, fruit and dessert. The school did give us milk. :)

I currently have no gardens but if I did, I definately would have a vegetable garden.

I don't garden, I don't like dirt plus we would have to put something up to stop the deer from eating everything.

I have a garden which I love, we use it so much in the summer. I don't tend to plant many plants as I have pet rabbits and they eat them!! We have some bamboo plants, acers in pots, a palm plant, a rose bush, a tree (which has pretty lights in it), 2 vines which go over my swing seat and several ornimental grasses and bushes. We also have a pond with lillies in which has a bridge over it which leads to a deck area which has a pergola over it with festune lights. I like statues in my garden so we have several statues and a moving water feature statue. DH is into lighting so we have lots of lights in the garden to uplight some of the feature plants and statues so it looks pretty at night time. Being in England though our garden is very small!!

Sounds like a corner of Disney to me!

Thank you everyone for the concerns. The tsunami warning has been cancelled. There were only a few small waves, and everyone is safe. :goodvibes

Today is the last day of the month, so today's QOTD is-

What do you have planned for next month? Anything fun, and exciting?
