If you were to open a type of business in your neighborhood that you think your neighborhood either needs or may want, what would it be?

A bakery, we do not have one.

If you were to put together your own FIRST AID KIT, what type of items would you put into it?

Actually i did put together a small one for when we travel.

Band Aids (all sizes)
Antibiotic cream
Hydrocortisone cream
Antiseptic wipes
A needle
A few safety pins
I keep pain reliever separate.

QOTD 5/28: A Texas styled BBQ house.

QOTD: Our first aid kits are fairly extensive:
Antiseptic wipes
Polysporin
butterflys bandages(the paper ones that you can cut to size...very handy and have used them many times with excellent results. Usually on myself as I'm a klutz by nature!)
splints
finger splints
a variety of gauze pads
latex free bandaids of all sizes
triangle bandages
compression bandages
an assortment of airways
wraps for sprains
vet wrap for the hounds (the only thing that will stick to greyhound skin)
And a bunch of misc first aid gear

For my portable first aid kit that's in my purse:
An assortment of latex free bandaids
and Antiseptic wipes

I also carry on me at all times:
Reactine
Dairy Aid
2 inhalers
ibuprofen
Epipen

I'm a regular walking first aid kit, but it's a necessity with 2 over active boys and my allergies.

If you were to open a type of business in your neighborhood that you think your neighborhood either needs or may want, what would it be?
A bookstore like Barnes and Noble. We have a used book store and a Half Price Books but no new bookstore.

A furniture store.

Or a formal/bridal dress store.

If you were to put together your own FIRST AID KIT, what type of items would you put into it?
bandaids
gauze
white tape
neosporin
some kind of antibacterial spray
moleskin
that kind of spray that seals wounds
safety pins

I'm sure there is more, I just can't think of them at the moment.

I also would like a bookstore since ours had closed :(.

A place for younger kids like a Chuckie Cheese, and one for middle/older kids.

Albertsons-with those mainland prices.

Chain restaurants.....

There are alot of places I wish we had here.

If you were to put together a tour of your town for visitors, where would you take them, and what authentic foods from your area would you have them try?

I would not tour my town there is nothing of interest here.

I would take them to Gettysburg and tour the battle fields.

As for food...
Just take them to a good Amish restaurant :thumbsup2 and everyone would get a pack of peeps to take home. :teeth:

I feel the same way, that there's not much of interest in my little town beyond just showing them where we live. We could go into Dallas, maybe take them past Southfork if they were interested in that. On to the mid cities to see Cowboy Stadium and the Texas Rangers Ballpark. If they had kids, we could go to Six Flags Over Texas or Hurricane Harbor. Maybe to the Mesquite Rodeo if it was in the summertime. The zoos in either Dallas or Ft. Worth, Billy Bob's and the Stockyards in Ft. Worth to see the longhorns cattle drive. That's a lot of driving though. It's pretty spread out here.

As for eating, Tex Mex for sure! Or maybe a good steakhouse.

I'd take them to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery, London Farms, and Steveston (a 10 min drive from here). Locally there's the Richmond Olympic Oval, and shopping at Richmond Centre. For fast food, Yoahan Centre has our fav authentic Chinese food, and for fine dining Felico's an outstanding Greek restaurant around the corner from where I live. Also SUSHI at the Sushi House down the street from me that has killer Japanese food.

James came home last week for a couple of days. It was surprise visit, he lives six hours away.

My mom had a good report on her hip.

I really like your second answer. Wish I could say the same :(.

That was nice of your son, what a sweet surprise.

As for my most memorable. It would be going on the glass bottom boat yesterday. I can soooooo easily get motion sickness, and I was so into going onto the boat at the start. Then reality kicked in while I was boarding the boat. It was such a great experience of seeing a turtle, different fishies, and spinner dolphins. But when the boat stopped so that we could see the fishies, and coral, I did not feel well. Luckily, I was okay, and made it back safely.

I need to consume less soda as well :(. But whenever I do not drink it because of the caffeine, I get a headache.

Yesterdays QOTD: Yesterday the abandoned house next door to us was finally demo'd. Had fun sitting on the deck watching the demolition in progress. The excavator operator is doing an outstanding job, and has kept the debris on our property to a min. He even helped us take out the tall tree next to the house that we had a permit to remove, and both us and the owner next door wanted gone in the worst way, as it's less than 2 feet from the property line. Nice to see the neighbourhood being revitalized with new homes being built in the area. The downside to this past month is that Dozer, our male greyhounds arthritis has gotten alot worse since the Victoria Day long weekend. We are taking him to the vet on Sat to see what can be done for him to help him on the path to being healthy again. Have had no luck attempting to find his race records, and have contacted the National Greyhound Data Base to see if they can provide us with the info we need. We adopted him at just shy of 20 months old, and this is why I'm having such a hard time finding the records. He may be one of those dogs that after racing a short time, "disappears" off the records. Fortunately he disappeared our way and have had him for 9 years.

White bread. It's strange, I don't mind eating wheat when we are out but I home I have to have white. I've tried to change but for now it's a no go.
