Everything you need to know about WDW Christmas- Tips & Secrets

I JUST booked our trip - dec 3 - 6. is it too late to book the CP?

didnt want to waste a long hold if it was sold out. Thanks!

I booked a Garden Grill / CP dinner package for 12/2 about a week ago. Keep on trying! :)

Please help me! And help me NOW!!!! :rotfl2:

Last year, we decorated our window at POP, mainly with squillions of window clings. This year, we want to do MORE!!!!!!!!! But I have to know how wide the window ledge is there. I can't buy stuff to sit on the ledge if it won't fit. We've seen some teeeeeeny lit trees, but I don't know if they will stay put.

Does anyone know the measurements? Have a pic? Thanks! :thumbsup2

Now that the Christmas lights are gone from Epcot (can't remember the name of the display off the top of my head) is there much to see after dinner? Our kids are a bit young to sit through CP and may not make it to Illuminations since we plan on being in the park for the day and it's not until 9:30 in December. We plan on seeing the story tellers during the day, but just wondered if the different countries' pavillions have any Christmas lights up or anything that we would want to see after dark.

I tried to search it, but I didn't see it any where.

We are planning a trip first week in January...will decorations still be up?

Thanks!!!

I saw somewhere that most decorations are down by Jan 3rd. Last year they had a cold snap and the decorations were up during most of my trip from 1/9 - 1/16...most started to come down 1/13. I heard that is a rare occasion that they are still up that long.

We really enjoyed the decorations even though we were in our winter coats and gloves in FL!! :rolleyes1

It is not huge, but will fit stuffed animals well, I would guess about 4 to 6 inches. The shades will help hold stuff on if it is not too heavy.

I posted this question on the resort boards but haven't had many replies....

I totally get that the parks will be crazy busy at Christmas but how busy will the resorts be? I've read that many who attend the parks are down visiting family in Florida.

The reason that I ask is that when the 2010-2011 promos came out, I booked ASSp for Christmas - right over the holidays. Then a few weeks latter, I upgraded to CBR because we loved being at a moderate. Last week, due to a potential cost savings need, I downgraded our ressie back to ASSp. When the threat did not materialize, I booked up to CSR. I had no problem making any of these ressies. So how busy do you think they'll be?

Bumping up...I am starting to put together my must do list for our trip in less than four weeks

I'm having a heck of a time convincing my DH to go to go to wdw next year for Christmas & my mom is booking rooms for the whole family on her dvc points. But he doesn't want to deal with the crowds on Christmas and he just doesn't understand why I want to go during the busiest time of the year - at least I have time to convince him

Thought I would share our pic from last Christmas at CBR! We plan to do the same this year!

SUPER! Thanks for sharing . Love the idea of shipping from amazon too. (We are driving though, so I should be able to bring what I need)>

This year will be my first visit for MVMCP - but MNSSHP and the Hallowishes is amazing.

(This is a photo my DH took when we were at the MNSSHP two years ago...I think it pretty much captures what we thought of the fireworks :) )

That is such an amazing photo! My fireworks pics never turned out the least bit clear let alone like that~ have never been to Hallowishes as we work in education and can never get off at that time.

We're going for Christmas this year, and am contamplating the MVMCP...have been before and it was great but the price is a little steep - taking all the adult kids and granddaughter this year. There will be 7 of us...

I know that after the 18th they will do the Christmas parade instead of the regular parade, but do they also do the fireworks from MVMCP instead of regular Wishes?

Will they do the Christmas parade instead of Spectromagic? I had seen the Christmas parade before at the MVMCP and loved it !

i was wondering about dining too. we like a traditional turkey potatoes and stuffing but are willing to try something new....i just don't want to have to make it!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

We were there for Thanksgiving one year and we had reservations at the Coral Reef. The traditional Thanksgiving meal was on the menu that day and my kids actually ordered it. (turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc.)

Has anyone done this tour? Do we know if they still offer it?

My husband's bday happens to be while we're at Disney. And we were looking for a tour to take that he could use his Bday fun card to pay for. I've never noticed this one before (although I might have skipped right over it since we've never gone during Yule).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I'm sure this has already been answered but I just started reading the thread since we are going in December as well. I just today booked the Yule Tour for DH and myself. It is now up to 89 dollars, but I received a 20% discount by using my Disney Visa.

BTW while I was on the phone with the cast member she told me that there were still openings for the MVMCP on December 29, Sunday...

I think you may have mistaken the dates...the last day for MVMCP is December 19th.

The Christmas parade will take the place of the daytime parade after the last MVMCP, which is on December 19. As far as I know, they're still showing the MSEP rather than SpectroMagic (and of course, that's not running every night).

Please keep reading the DIS for a few days before you decide on TGM. The reviews are very mixed, some like it while others hate it. I prefer Ridemax to either of the choices mentioned so far, and Ridemax has far, far less "negative" reviews (not to mention, the only option with a money back gurantee). Either way, do your homework before you hand over your money.

Well I have to agree with you about Ridemax. I tried it for the first time last February and it really does work.

You are right. I was so excited while typing I typed 29 instead of 19. Just wanted to let everyone know that there were still available tickets for that date.
