Everything you need to know about WDW Christmas- Tips & Secrets

But my question is, once I get to the Boardwalk, can I walk to the Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts to take in all of the displays in their lobbies?

Yes. The path that starts as the BoardWalk continues all the way around Crescent Lake, passing Yacht & Beach Club.

When walking from the Boardwalk to the Beach Club and Yacht Club, head towards EPCOT which will take you around to the Beach Club. If you go the other direction, you'll end up at the Studios.

I got a quick question about the edible holiday displays. I know that I can take a boat from EPCOT to the Boardwalk, and I can take a bus to any resort. But my question is, once I get to the Boardwalk, can I walk to the Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts to take in all of the displays in their lobbies?

Ever since I saw the H&G Channel's behind the scenes of Christmas at WDW, I'd like to see these for myself. And walking seems to be the quickest way according to Disney maps.

I figure, 1 day I can just step off the monorail 1 day and take in the Contemporary's lobby.

Thank you

Oh I know what you mean, I have 5 Deluxe resorts we plan to hit on arrival day and the other 5 or so we will do the morning we do MVMCP.

Also, from what I understand, you can access more than just those. You should be able to access Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Dolphin & Swan by just parking at one of those resorts, or if you are already at Epcot, take a boat from there to access those resorts.

What I'm wondering is, we are staying off site so and will be traveling my car. Can we get one of those 3 hour passes from the lot attendate without any problems so we can view the resorts decorated?

:santa:Arriving at Beach Club Nov 12, 2010 - Nov 16. Does anyone know if the BCV Gingerbread House is open this year by that time? How about the Grand Floridian opening date? Osbourne lights start date? THANKS....

Does anyone know when the resorts and parks are decorated for Xmas?We are considering a short trip over Thanksgiving (Nov 23-Nov 27).

Looks like we will miss MVMCP but get to see the Osborne lights and possibly the Candlelight Processional (starts our last evening).

We really want to see the decorations so if they are not up yet then we may postpone for a short weekend trip in early Dec.

Thanks for any help!

I've been for Thanksgiving a couple of times and the parks were always decorated by the time we arrived (the Saturday before). Have a great trip. The weather is usually great that time of year.

I was reading in earlier posts some people say they ship a tree to the resort they are staying at. How do you get the package when you arrive at the resort. And how far in advance do you ship the package thanks. I wanted a small tree and some decorations for the room. When I called the disney florist they wanted a crazy amount for a four foot tree. I just want a smaller one than that and never have heard of shipping things to the resort. How does that work?

Call and ask your resort. I'd probably ship it about a week before you check in. That's what we're doing this year. I bought a small PINK Christmas tree :scared1: (It's a mother/daughter trip!) on clearance after Christmas last year and will be shipping it down for us. The box is actually not that big.

I had someone ship me something at my resort once. They put a note on your reservation and give it to you when you check in (it was a small package). I have shipped things to others at their resort and mark the package "hold for XX/XX/XXX checkin" under their name (insert date for X's).

Have fun! Anyone checking in around 12/19 at the POP want a pink Christmas tree????????? :rotfl:

In reply to how to park and tour epcot resorts:

I would park at DHS and then take friendship boat to the right of the entrance to the first resort (stops at swan/dolphin, beach club, epcot and boardwalk. Second stop is beach club takes 15 minutes from studios entrance on boat. Then you can walk to boardwalk and swan dolphin resorts. This is what we did for dinner at Beach Club and it worked out great and didnt have to worry about 3 hour parking pass.

Our problem is we would have to pay to park at DHS

No worries, you can visit the resorts. We visit other resorts on every trip (to eat, shop, recon ;)), and it's never been an issue. Disney wants you to stop in and spend some time (and money!!) so the wheels start turning for an upgrade on your next trip. :rotfl:

You can park at the Boardwalk without needing a 3 hour pass (which, by the way, I have NEVER received in years of visiting resorts! We drive each time, and have dinners at many resorts- I have never seen one of these passes people talk about :confused3 )

Anyhow- at the Boardwalk, you don't even need a dinner ressie or anything- just tell them you're there for the Boardwalk (to shop, etc)

The Grand Floridian lobby and gingerbread house is a must see; much more impressive than the Contemporary.

This is our first Christmas trip together to WDW. I havent been since the mid 90s and I remember it being really busy at that time of year. I'm just excited to enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds of the holidays with my hubby at our favorite place! :santa:

Remember it can turn cold even at WDW.We were there the week before Christmas in 2005 and about froze. We had sweat shirts and gloves and still it was cold .

I didnt buy a CP package, and dont want to wait in line for a few hours, to maybe get in the theatre. I would like to see a few songs from outside the theatre, how much can you see hear???? Any reviews on this kind of viewing and/or pics?

We did this last year. People will stop, listen a bit, and then move on. You can hear the songs just fine. Visibility is ok, but you won't get the greatest pictures.

I tried to search it, but I didn't see it any where.

We are planning a trip first week in January...will decorations still be up?

Thanks!!!

I JUST booked our trip - dec 3 - 6. is it too late to book the CP?

didnt want to waste a long hold if it was sold out. Thanks!

Actually, I would love a pink Christmas tree! We are checking on the 19th at Pop for a week, me and my 3 girls, ages 11, 9, and 6 :)

Whoops, this was in reply to mom2RK on page 58!
