We got onto the ride, and the woman next to me completely ignored the team member who asked her to put her bag on the floor.
But she did decide to do it off her own accord.
Right when the lap bar was coming down.
She bent her whole body in half with her head practically on the floor and was almost crushed by the lap bar
Luckily a team member saw and yelled out!
The whole system throughout the entire room had to be emergency stopped and reset, LOL.

OH my gosh! This reminds me of Dan. We were on a ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain a long time ago and it was a standing ride. They give you a few seconds to get to a comfortable standing position before they lock you in, like this



Well, Dan being the complete idiot that he is, starts squatting and standing real fast, like it was a game. Unfortunately for him, they locked it while he was squatting, so his head was down near my chest area! Every time I looked over to see his reactions to the ride, I couldn't see him, all I could see was the top of his head and I'd start busting up! Totally got what he deserved for not following orders!

Something I enjoy about Universal in general is that the team members always clap when you arrive back at the platform after every ride, which makes everyone else clap and cheer .

Completely forgot they did this! It's been since 2008 since i've been to US Hollywood!

At one point, a guy was turning around taking a 360 degree video, and Jamie tried to move out of the way of his shot, but ended up kind of running in a circle around him

Sounds like something DH would do on purpose

Something many Dis-ers would probably like about Universal is that they’re ON IT when it comes to table hogging.
All the tables have reserved signs on them and once you have your food you’re shown to a table.
Two guys sat at a table nearby with no food and two team members POUNCED on them!

A great reason for us to go!

I don;t know how you guys handle the heat like that. How hot does it get where you live? Is September the only time you guys are able to visit WDW?

While we waited in line for the train Jamie was doing a sorting hat impression..
He wouldn’t do it for my camera, but I caught him doing it at Epcot on our last night

We exited the ride and stopped to watch the Durmstrang / Beauxbatons show for a few minutes.

Ah I love it! And the music for the Beauxbatons Makes me want to go to the Yule Ball!

Hufflepuffs unite! Last time I was at Universal, I wore my Hufflepuff shirt and as I was getting on forbidden journey, the team member was like "You know you're not playing in today's game right?" I laughed and said I had to rep my house.

They have been changing/getting rid of a lot lately I understand the parks need to change and grow but...but...THINK OF THE CHILDREN! And when I say children I mean US But seriously, I am sad DAWK isn't going to be there...I am looking forward to seeing the new show though! And it will have Princess & the Frog in it which I know you will LOVE

How fun! I always want to do this but then I end up at the parks instead haha But this trip we are going to tour the MK resorts our first night via Monorail. We are doing Hoop Dee Doo for dinner (the earliest showing) and the plan WAS going to be to go back to MK & watch fireworks/parade but of course they have a MVMCP that night so...yeah. John is only there the first 3 days with us and the tickets are RIDICULOUSLY expensive so I decided against the party with him. So we are going to resort hop to the MK resorts (starting with Wilderness since we will be there already) and see all the gorgeous Christmas decorations I had to do some "woosah's" and "let it gooooooo"'s to myself since Disney is already impeding on my original touring plan

So glad you're doing a monorail resort hop! And at Christmas no less. Take lots of dazzling photos to show me please

I love this! We will most likely stay at Beach Club again on our next trip (which probably won't be for another 3-4 years after this one...too many other plans in the meantime) b/c it'll be a big family trip with my parents and my sister and her fiance but SOMEDAY I would like to stay at AoA. It looks so fun!

Honestly AoA was good fun, but I would rather stay at Beach Club any day, especially with the refurb! I love the new rooms, and the DVC units are looking just as beaut Take lots of dazzling photos of this too please i will die of jealousy!!!

I didn't like it at first but Jacob LOVES Cars so it's grown on me over the years!
Plus it has some distinctly adult humor that goes over the kiddies heads which I appreciate -
My favorite line from the first Cars:
"I told you, race cars don't need headlights because the track is always lit."
"So is my uncle but he still needs headlights!"

Hahaha yes it's funny! And sooooo pretty, I love the setting. And the soundtrack! Gahh why isn't it more popular. Also I must get to Cars Land at DLR

It's so funny you posted that! Jacob kept asking me to buy him some of these b/c his class went to the Natural Bridge Caverns (just a bunch of big caves really) and in the gift shop they had these rocks.
I was like..."Jacob what do you need these rocks for?"
And there was a really long pause and he goes "I don't know, I just NEED THEM."

Spoiler alert...he never got the rocks

That's funny because that's pretty much the exact conversation Jamie and I had I'm sure I can do something crafty with them... I need to get on Pinterest

They changed the dinosaur! Didn't it used to be the T-rex? Is that the Indominus Rex or whatever it's called from Jurassic World? It actually looks more like the one from Jurassic World 3 but who knows. Cool looking either way!

The T-Rex is still there! But he always has a crown of people trying to get pictures with him. This little guy stands all alone so I showed him some appreciation

It's CRB for us this trip. Our favorite if Wilderness Lodge but with the construction, it just would be the same. Still trying to decide when to go to MNSSHP. Either on Sunday or Tuesday. There is nothing like trick or treating as an adult.

Yeaahh best to skip it until the construction is done, it seems like an extensive project, hopefully worth it though! Yessss do MNSSHP!! We did so much trick or treating last year, like an embarrassing amount And we got a bunch of stuff that we don't have over here in the UK, omg, PEANUT CHEWS! Get back in my life!

YES I DO!!! It will be odd staying in Kidini instead but hey I'll be closer to Sanaa and the bread service haha

WOW sounds good!! I've got Liberty Tree, Sci-Fi, Tuskar House (with jungle book viewing), Jiko, Boma (breakfast), Sanaa and California grill... ALL on your list haha AND we have Kona, Crystal Palace and The Plaza but like that could all totally change!! I'm thinking about Tutto Italia for their set lunch menu too but the stupid site has been down to book ADRs most of the day

Ow wow we got a bunch of the same things! Twins. I'm being surprisingly well behaved with my ADR list, I haven't really changed anything. Although I just realised we've never done Be Our Guest for dinner, only ever lunch.. I'd kinda like to try it, but I have no room for it really I dunno maybe I'll shuffle things around

The late night opening is a massive draw to AKL!! It's open until 11pm the whole time we're there it's perfect! It's so quick on the bus from AKL too... Night time everest will be awesome! Then home to look at the animals from your balcony!

YES the rides are a bit / a lot more puke-inducing but I agree, even if you don't like the rides the atmosphere is so good! And all the music loops that play are just I'm happy just moseying around

We had a fun time on Forbidden Journey!
I would say it’s my favourite ride at Universal.

On my WDW trip back in 2013, my sister and I did a day at Universal. This was back when there was only the Harry Potter theming at Islands of Adventure, and Forbidden Journey was our first ride of the day. I usually don't get motion sick on rides, but I felt SO nauseous during this one!! I actually had to close my eyes when we were in front of the projector screen! It stinks, because I love Universal, but all of the rides there seem to be so rough! I reallllly want to ride Star Tours on my next trip (since I just watched all of the movies this year), but I'm worried that it may be too vomit-inducing

I missed commenting on the last update, but I just wanted to say I can never get enough pictures of your Poly view, especially with fireworks in the background! Your Universal day looks like a ton of fun. I know I mentioned it before, but we're waiting for the kids to be older to go. I love all the details in your pictures. Have you ever thought of staying at a Universal Hotel for part of your trip?

Me neither! And I'm glad you can't get enough of them, because I took SO many waiting a until the kids are older to go to Universal is a very good choice, the rides are much more intense. I think you'd get a much better first impression if everyone was old enough to enjoy it properly! I actually have thought about that! But we like to spread our time out at Universal. Plus I'm a bit high maintenance about trips to Florida..! So, I like to land and go straight to Disney... But I wouldn't want to end a trip at Universal because I get really sad leaving Disney, when the time came I don't think I'd be in the mood to ditch it for Universal I guess since I like doing split stays, what could work is booking a few nights at a Disney hotel, then a couple of nights at Universal, then back to Disney for the rest of the trip?! That would probably be the way to do it for me!

We own a former council flat in North London and the guy in one of the garden flats below us only goes outside to feed a massive flock of pigeons.
For whom the people in the flat by our estate's exit also throw out copious amounts of bread/chips.

Haha thanks!!! It's just gel polish, I do them myself normally (with the UV light and everything) but I thought I'd treat myself before my holiday and pay for the whole works at the salon Normal nail polish HATES my nails, no exaggeration, they chip half an hour after I paint them. But gel polish stays on flawlessly for two or three weeks it's GREAT

I'm so not here for this Hufflepuff discrimination! #justice4badgers

Jamie's sorting hat impression is amazing. "BETTAH BE...GRYFFINDOR!!!" is a truly A+ HP movie reference and I support any/all people yelling it in public places.

Hahaha I'm so glad you support the public yelling because it was getting louder and louder each time he really has no shame.

I absolutely love the Disney Water Parks. Yes, you are right....it is not pleasant to think of how many kids come and "go" in the water, but that's kinda of part of the nature of a water park LOL. Personally I prefer Typhoon Lagoon over Blizzard Beach. BB has some great slides and it is a lot of fun, but with TL you have some great slides and then an amazing wave pool to spend tons of time in. The BB "wave pool" - if you can call it that after comparing it to TL's, is really boring to me and I can't spend much time in there. Glad I was able to give you an inadvertent suggestion on something to do next trip.

PS: My best friend wear contacts - she's literally blind without them, and she's never had an issue at the water parks. Tell Jamie to suck it up

OK, we're going to go to a water park, I've convinced him! He thinks it sounds like a fun place to bake in the sun, but I think I'll get him on the lazy river and maybe the wave pool

HAHA, you sound like me. I had been with my now hubby for nearly 13 years before he proposed and he KNEW that it had to be at Disney, had to be in the Magic Kingdom and had to be during Wishes!. I mean I made things easy for him right? We didn't have a PP photographer there, but he surprised me by bringing in our two best friends to capture the moment! WOOOOO. Oooowww Wishes! OMG....I know the temptation. I find myself playing with them every time I encounter them...eeek! Maybe make a little garden (herbs or succulents?) and layer the soil with these stones?? Just a suggestion LOL...ROCK GARDEN!

It was! I love Universal so much, it makes me sad when people boycott it just because they're so pro-Disney! They're missing out! I might get Butterbeer ice cream this year, chocolate always tempts me too much though! YES they do theming so well! Just as good as Disney in my opinion

I love this place, it’s not exactly fine dining but there are lots of different concessions to choose from and the atmosphere is fun.

Hey girl hey! I am an American living in the UK. My good friend/roommate at uni in New York studied abroad in London for half a year, which is where she met the guy who eventually became her husband. OH my gosh! This reminds me of Dan. We were on a ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain a long time ago and it was a standing ride. They give you a few seconds to get to a comfortable standing position before they lock you in, like this



Well, Dan being the complete idiot that he is, starts squatting and standing real fast, like it was a game. Unfortunately for him, they locked it while he was squatting, so his head was down near my chest area! Every time I looked over to see his reactions to the ride, I couldn't see him, all I could see was the top of his head and I'd start busting up! Totally got what he deserved for not following orders!

On my WDW trip back in 2013, my sister and I did a day at Universal. This was back when there was only the Harry Potter theming at Islands of Adventure, and Forbidden Journey was our first ride of the day. I usually don't get motion sick on rides, but I felt SO nauseous during this one!! I actually had to close my eyes when we were in front of the projector screen! It stinks, because I love Universal, but all of the rides there seem to be so rough! I reallllly want to ride Star Tours on my next trip (since I just watched all of the movies this year), but I'm worried that it may be too vomit-inducing

Oh no!!! I can see how people find it nauseating, I think it's hard for the brain to keep up with everything going on.. one second you're face to face with a dementor, then tipped backwards onto your head, then in front of a screen with a fast-moving video.. it's very disorientating!! On another visit to Universal later in the trip we saw a guy running from the ride into the gift shop to exit, but he puked all over the floor, then continued to just run off GROSS!

Sure! As soon as I win the lotto, I'll send the tickets and hotel reservations to you.
(Of course, since I don't play the lotto, it might be a while...)

Well this is just beautiful. Of course I will be your English friend, but only once you've assimilated properly and been to Nando's The Sports Direct mug definitely adds to your honorary British status though I must admit, I don't own one, so maybe I need to eat a few more Nando's this week to make up for it.. Yes that sounds fair.

Thank you! Haha oh no, sorry for causing the dilemma well club level is always debatable, but i definitely recommend theme park view if the upgrade is reasonably priced!! That was the real highlight of the stay

Wait your work doesn't actually have a group lotto that you don't participate in do they?! Haha pkondzi remember that football bet I told you about..? There was just someone in the news here who put 50p on them to win at the very start of the season when the odds were 5000/1... but he cashed out the next day.. for 45p..!!! FACEPALM!!!! He LOST 5p when he would've won £2.5k!! Who takes the time to cash out 45p???!!!
