Everything Michigan....

HI  Although it was quick it was so sweet! I'll have to post our pictures up on FB...

My uncle lives on Half Moon! You can see the boat launch from the state park from his boat dock. We go all the time.. We swim from his dock or cut through the marsh to get to the beach..

That is really cool! Maybe we can have a MI Dis Meet at Half Moon over the summer! :thumbsup2

Wow....DIS members are CIA operatives in hiding?!?!?!?!

Nailed it in 1 LOL
:rotfl:Nah, nothing that glamorous. I used to make frequent road trips to Indiana, and Coldwater was my regular rest stop. I thought I remembered it being about 13 miles from the border. I've probably been to every fast food place and every gas station at the Coldwater exit. :thumbsup2

Anyway, glad to have you aboard.

I am originally born in Dearborn, then Lincoln Park, then Trenton. My DH and I moved to the south in 1985 and now live in Savannah.

Did you grow up in Dearborn? I went to Lowrey from K-9, then Fordson. Raised my family in Woodhaven and Allen Park. Now live near Lansing.

I use that same route to go to my DSis's house in Ft Wayne ~ 12 to 69 ~ easy as pie and very little freeway traffic! :thumbsup2

Welcome to the Dis, WickedElphaba. :)

Nah, I was born at Oakwood Hospital and then spent my first 3 years in a mobile home park (long gone) off of Dix near Southfield in Lincoln Park. (1958-61). Then we moved to Trenton when I was three and I moved south with my DH in 1985. We have long, long, long time family friends who live on West Road in Woodhaven, about a mile or so down from Telegraph.

My DH made Lansing his home for 4 years at MSU. I went to HFCC and UMD.

So how is everyone doing? We have yet to have a major snow fall around here. News says we got 4" of snow the one time but I would say that we barely got 3". I am so used to getting tons dumped on us about now. So weird. I'm not complaining but its just weird.

Has anyone gone to Crystal Mountain? My dh turns 40 next January and he really wants to go as a family there. Just wondering if anyone can tell me about it.. I'm NOT a skiier but my whole family are.

Wow...I TOTALLY forgot about this thread...lol

I'm thinking of hitting the Great Lakes Crossing Mall soon. Anyone been lately?

jbmom- why didn't you tell me there was a Michigan thread? I just saw it today.

Hi everyone. I'm in west Michigan. I've lived in the same small town most of my life. My kids have some of the same teachers I had when I was in school.

I wonder too about Crystal Mountain. We went to Boyne Mountain a couple weekends ago and had fun. DH and the boys tell me the skiing was great, but they are ready to try something new.

Cause you are always lurking on the Dis boards and she figured you knew already, but were just ignoring it. :rotfl2:

Hi everyone I am a Michigander too - all my life! I lived in Troy growing up, Warren for a time and now I live near Port Huron with my family.

I have never been to Crystal Mtn but we were up north in Atlanta/Hillman area last weekend for the Sno Drift and there wasn't very much snow up there at all.
Did anyone go up for the Sno Drift? It's a rally car race and Travis Pastrana from Nitro Circus races in it and was there. Made it more interesting for sure.

Missing the snow that the Port Huron area usually gets - we want to go sledding and well there's nothing to sled on except hillybilly sledding (4 wheelers and sleds on grass/dirt!)
