Everything Michigan....

So how is everyone doing? We have yet to have a major snow fall around here. News says we got 4" of snow the one time but I would say that we barely got 3". I am so used to getting tons dumped on us about now. So weird. I'm not complaining but its just weird.

Has anyone gone to Crystal Mountain? My dh turns 40 next January and he really wants to go as a family there. Just wondering if anyone can tell me about it.. I'm NOT a skiier but my whole family are.

Hello stranger! Happy Birthday to DH!

I have been skiing twice-both times at Caberfae. I kept making everyone on the rope tow fall.

Anyone else amused by all the 'OMG Snow' threads going now?

I am, too, now that I don't have to go through that anymore. I put in 28 snowy years in Michigan, that's enough.

I'm loving the idea that we aren't getting the snow here! I'm so sorry to all those on the East Coast who are...but I'm glad we are getting the year off!!!
:goodvibes

Me too..:thumbsup2 Chuck on Channel 4 said this year Michigan is caught in some sort of El Nino pod where everything huge goes around us this year..hehe

Im happy with the snow situation this year....had enough to close Western Michigans Campus for the first time since ive been there but after that it just left and i can drive my car safely....i like that!

I just moved to Virginia from Michigan, and the winter here sucks! Last weekend we got 10 inches. This weekend a whole bunch of rain and maybe a couple of inches of snow tomorrow.

I chat with so many people that live out east and the stories about the snow..... :lmao: I'm still sitting here waiting for ours... Really weird not getting any yet.

It looks as if we might get an appreciable amount of snow in southern MI tomorrow--perhaps up to 10" by Wednesday. . .I knew the weather was too good to last. . .:confused3

And kids all over MI are jumping for joy, LOL! We are finally getting a snow day (in our town anything over 5" is pretty much a guaranteed snow day since we have a lot of dirt roads and they get done last).

The fridge is stocked up and I have the week off work, so it will be nice to have the kids homebound with me for a change. :goodvibes

We live in a rural area also. I am in my office watching the snow fly and thinking "I knew it was too good to last" Darn groundhog anyway. I think he cursed us.

So far we have gotten about 3" of snow. I just got done shoveling and its not snowing anymore right now. School is cancelled for tomorrow. Probably only because tomorrow is count day. :rotfl:

What there do to in the macanaka and St. Agnus area for kids? I know I cant spell. ITs been so long since we went I need help rememebering.

Hello all. Was just reading on the DIS when the title of this page caught my eye. It is nice to see many Disney lovers in my state. I see the subject is snow and while I am not sure where everyone is located, here in SW Michigan we finally got enough to close school. This is the first snow day and I have the day off to boot. My son will be disappointing, at first. He is only in K and hates when he misses school. He has yet to learn the true joy of a snow day. I am ready to begin his education today. Big breakfast in the middle of the week. Some sledding in the yard. Popcorn and a good book. I am even trying to get a friend over.

What does your house have planned for this wonderful snow day? Hope many parents are off also and can spend some time with the kids.

Brand new to the DIS boards.

I am in lower center MI. About 13 miles north of Indiana state line.

Oh my, you and I could be neighbors. Glad you have found this wonderful site. Enjoy your snow day, I know I am going to.

How much did you guys get in Monroe? We got just under 6 in Wyandotte.

My husband is taking the kids to Mt. Trashmore for some snow boarding time and sledding.. Me I get to take my dad to Detroit to the doctors..

We got about 10 inches and I can't get the snowblower to start. If someone stops by and offers to remove the snow, I would pay $50 for their service!

All right.....who complained about no snow?!:goodvibes

I know it wasn't me. . .or anyone I know for that matter.

Lenawee was hit with 9". . .Toledo stations are a hoot--why the heck does 13 ABC feel the need to stay on air through GMA just to tell us about the roads--yeah they have snow on them. . .it is really only relevant to someone in, or traveling to, Toledo. Sometimes these local news agencies act like Chicken Little--good gravy, Bill Spencer (although he gets more excited about tornadoes vs snow) lived up north when we did--why all the hysteria over 9" of snow? :confused3

Just gotta laugh because I didn't know anyone referred to it by that nickname anymore! I've skied all over the country, on some of the most difficult mountains North America can throw at you, and the only place I've ever been hurt was Riverview Highlands.
