My husband works at AK and just got home. They called a "town meeting" at 2:30 and took his whole department over to the attraction and let them ride it. He said it was very very very fast and he loved the "surprise" but that it was definitely scary. They gave him business cards to give out to friends (telling about the ride) and a free gift. He loved it and said he'll go with me again on Saturday (the rest of us WDW cast members get to ride it Friday, Saturday, Sunday). He said the store by the attraction is very unique .... very different. He thinks both the ride and the store will be huge hits. And they told him the park's hours will be extended once the attraction is open officially (April 1st). No other details.

Cool!!!! My DH is going to ride it during the preview.......... it looks awesome!!! Glad he enjoyed it!

WOow. Thanks for the info. I've been waiting ever since I heard about this ride for it to be opened. Iv'e been watching for years as year by year i see it being built. And sometime in August my goal will be complete. I can't wait for this ride to be officially opened. Glad your husband had a great time.

will the store be open before the ride's open to the public?
I'll be there in March and it would be cool to bring back DS something from the ride. Like a Let's look forward to the ride in August!

Cool! Are there steep "drops" like a standard roller coaster? I'm hoping not cause I hate them. I don't mind the corksrew's (like the one in MGM). What kind of harness does it use? It it the over the shoulder one?

Thanks,

I guess I'm a minority here I could care less about this ride. We don't need another roller coaster ride we need a attraction that eveyone can enjoy and with some imagnitnation. There is no thrill if a ride is harmfull to ones health. That's what I see here just like Mission space. Just my 2 cents worth.

Please help me understand. How is THIS ride harmful to one's health??? :confused3 Are you aware of something the rest of us are unaware of or are you just making assumptions????

DH said it was not an over-the-shoulder-harness since the ride does not go upside down. From the way he described it to me it sounds more like Space Mountain except he said there are two people side by side, not single like Space Mountain. I can tell you more after I ride it Saturday.

Thanks,

They have an 'attraction seating gallery' on allearsnet.com and you can see what the different seats look like on the different attractions. Here is the link for EE: http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/ak/ak_ee12jpg.jpg

From what I heard its a lap bar kind of like the one on Big Thunder. I am not sure about that though if it goes really fast...

BTMRR Top Speed= 36mph
Space Moutain Top Speed= 28.7 MPH

Well, after seeing some video of EE earlier today, I must say...

This ride looks very very cool, and definatly a ride I must try on my February 1-5 trip (if there is a soft opening??).

I remember Joe Rohde saying on the WDW Christmas Parade segment that this will be a ride for the entire family to enjoy. After seeing that video of EE, I'd have to dissagree. I can see where alot of people might not want to ride this attraction. It definatly lookes alittle intense in some areas.

These attractions are all good to have on occasion, but remember Disney should be a place where families can all ride things together - I'm not suer EE will be one of those rides.

COOL! Lucky YOU! :cool1: Give us MORE details if you can on Sat. ;)

Well I think this is just what Disney needs more of.

They are mixing up new attractions across all age groups ( Just as Walt Wanted)

Crush in EP
Philham.in MK
now this EE IN AK

Remember Walt said "something for everyone" not everything for everyone.

This is why Disney is the Best you have SO MANY choices to fill the day.So many Resorts to choose from I just don't understand all the complaints of this ride this attaction.

It's not like you can't find enough things you like to fill your day.

BE HAPPY

I am so bummed... we will be there 1/18-1/23, during Cast Previews, and then after we leave the DVC/AP previews begin... if there are any CM's who would like to take me on it.. I will be in AK on Saturday!!!

Extending hours....By how much we talkin' about? We go in may, could be exciting.

We'll be in Animal Kingdom on Friday--can I pretend that I'm a CM? ;) :teeth:
