Everest - - My Husband Just Rode It

I guess I'm a minority here I could care less about this ride. We don't need another roller coaster ride we need a attraction that eveyone can enjoy and with some imagnitnation. There is no thrill if a ride is harmfull to ones health. That's what I see here just like Mission space. Just my 2 cents worth.

:rotfl2: Are you serious? If anything, I think disney is lacking more of the bigger style coasters. I'm not wanting to see disney turn into a Cedar Point in any way, but I think they could use a couple big coasters. I'm getting a season pass to Universal or Sea World for just that reason, the coasters.

Thank you for this info. It sounds great! We are AP holders who already had plans to be in the World at that time. DS13, DS8, and I have AP's. DH is joining us mid-trip and will be using old park hoppers. He in no way would ride this attraction (neck problems) but I wonder if they would let him stand in line with us so he could see the mountain.

I'm with you - I hate roller coasters (although I don't understand your health comment). I wish Disney would make more rides like Soarin', which almost everyone enjoys.

Unfortunately, Disney needs the big coasters to draw people away from the other theme parks.

wow, is there really a drop of 112 feet?

not that it would stop me from riding, but I thought the biggest drop was 80 feet?

Bethsg,

I know how you feel my DD and I arrive on Jan. 19th until the 24th, just missing the AP preview. We were totally bummed when I found out. We'll just have to back next year. We are going to go by and take a look. I hope the store will be open while we're there.

Everyone have a great time and make sure to tell us all about it.

Tracy :earsgirl:

Very cool!... what is the store like? lots of stuffed yetis? :confused3

I'll be there every day of the AP preview.

I'm ready for my Expedition to begin!

Are there any pictures of the finished product?

How about a couple of podcasts of the ride in action

You will have to download quicktime to see them.

Which part of AK is it in?

ie which other attractions are nearby etc?

It is in Asia between Kali River Rapids and the bridge that leads to Dinoland.

I watched the podcast last night. Ride looks VERY fast. I didn't see the big drop, so I'm assuming it's indoors.

Also not sure how I'll handle going backwards. Never done that on a ride.

Well I think this is just what Disney needs more of.

They are mixing up new attractions across all age groups ( Just as Walt Wanted)

Crush in EP
Philham.in MK
now this EE IN AK

Remember Walt said "something for everyone" not everything for everyone.

This is why Disney is the Best you have SO MANY choices to fill the day.So many Resorts to choose from I just don't understand all the complaints of this ride this attaction.

It's not like you can't find enough things you like to fill your day.

BE HAPPY
Very well said. I agree :) For those of you who couldn't see the Yeti in the videos, I did a print screen of theAnimatronic Yeti :scared1: . I t is not very clear though.

The video makes it look like either the big drop is curved or it's backwards....either way is fine with me. I'd prefer a shoulder harness because I hate the popping out of my seat feeling and because I worry about the safety for a smaller person (like my 5yo who can't wait to ride!) riding with a bigger person. Those lap bars don't come down far enough to make me feel like she is held in well. I guess I'll just have to do like I do on BTMRR and push that bar down as hard as I can on myself (ouch, not comfortable)so she's not bouncing around...unless they've made them individual lap bars, which would be great.

Is it all backwards??

Its just Indianna Jones et le temple du Peril at Disneyland Paris is backwards for the entire ride and is very very disorientating and very fast. It isn't the most pleasent of experiences.

It starts off going forward, then it goes backwards, then forward again. It only goes backwards for short period of time.
