Well it was Animal Kingdom and certainly for us one of the most anticipated days of the holiday, more so for me, sarah and the girls as AK had no Expedition Everest last year and it was time to meet the beast (No not the mother in law)
Why does the parks always seem really packed when they hold the rope for Mickeys opening sketch type things but anyway the rope dropped and we all thundered towards Asia. When we arrived we sent the womenfolk to get the fastpasses whilst we queued but the que was moving 3 times as fast as the fastpass distribution line so they gave up on the and joined us. We held up the line through the standby theming and boy was this completely outstanding, tell me one person who will resist ringing them bells if they can reach them!!! We got on the ride and it was everything lived up to expectation It was AWESOME!! The atmosphere on here was spectacular. We ran straight round and walked on again, this time Dan and Beth were assigned the front seats to which no promise of money could relieve them from. This time we fastpassed it and moved to Khali River rapids. Now it was still only about 9.40am at this time, we had a change of clothes so we braved it, I wonder why there were only Brits on at this time???? Beth and Rob sat together and much to everyones amusement got the backwards seats at the big drop and were drenched. At the end I was dry, last year I was soaked on the re-ride after being dry on the first time round, I didnt risk it and exited with Sarah and Toria. We waited for the rest to come back round and yes we squirted them all. Turns out Beth and Rob got the backwards seat again which wet any point of them that hadnt been soaked the first time. All the kids got changed and we headed back to Everest and used the fast pass.
We headed onto Dino Land ad rode dinosaur which is a pretty good ride that really throws you about. The best thing is Dan was captured on the ride pic almost jumping out of his skin with the big dinosaur, something that didnt do his street cred much good. We split from Dave and Les and spent some time in here, got a Chip n Dale pic and headed off for lunch.
After dinner we went on tough to be a bug which is brilliant as I remembered but it seemed shorter, but then again my brain is one year older and more senile!
The heat was staring to blast so we got the ice creams decked and headed to Africa, Kilimanjaro safari was jammed but we had fast passed it before dinner but we still waited 20 minutes but due to the heat it was a little futile. Anyway we werent worried as it was time for the Lion King show, words cant describe this apart from spectacular and we were in the Simba section get in!!!! We finished off with one or two things like Pocohontas and made our way to the exit. We were weary and glad to be going, it was hot hot hot!!!
Les, Dave, Dan and Rob on Khali. Spot them if you can!
