i laundried, cleaned, grocery shopped today... maybe tomorrow i can relax a bit..

Happy Birthday NC BEAST.. Hope you had a great day... do anything special???

:rolleyes1 NC Beast cooked his meals today---bbq some burgers and chicken---outside in 100+ not including the humid. index. He volunteered to do it even though I said that could do it on the stovetop grill pan in the a/c. We had a birthday pie (lemon meringue) because it is too hot to think about baking carrot cake.

He had some fun playing some computer games all afternoon while the Pocono NASCAR race was on.

sounds like a great day.. woo hoo and happy b'day to him..

NCBeast I hope you had a fab birthday.

Well today I am off work poorly. I have hurt my knee and can hardly walk!! Hopefully if I rest today I'll be OK to go in tomorrow. So I'm going to spend the day on the sofa with my knee resting whilst doing school work (I feel guilty being off when I feel OK, I just can't walk!!)

I hope everyone else has a good day.

Kevin and I had a fabulous anniversary weekend!!!!! :goodvibes

We went to downtown Chicago early, by about 1pm, and we walked around and shopped until approx. 3:30pm (got the kids some new things to wear at TDS:) ). We then checked into our hotel room at The Hyatt Regency and we had an awesome room on the 25th floor - it overlooked The Chicago River and we had a direct look at The John Hancock building. We rushed to change and freshen up because we had to get to our dinner reservations at The Chicago Chop House. After dinner, we took a cab to go see Blue Man Group, adn the show was fantanstic!!!! If you've never seen Blue Man Group, I would strongly recommend it!!!! :thumbsup2 After dinner we went back to our hotel, and walked around outside down Michigan Avenue for awhile, and then came back to the hotel for a midnight dessert treat :goodvibes It was a great day!!!!!:goodvibes

Then Sunday, we tried to sleep in, but the people next to us were allowing their children to scream and shreek as loud as they could - it woke us up at 8:30am:mad: The screaming went on and on and on and finally 15 minutes later I called the front desk and requested that they call the room and tell the people to control their children, but by this time, we were already up - so frustrating!!!!:headache: I couldn't believe those parents allowed that - I don't allow that kind of behavior in my home, let alone a hotel where others would be affected by it - it's the adults I blame, not the kids:mad:

So, after that, we got ready and went to breakfast in the hotel - it was a great buffet!!!!:thumbsup2 Then we went to The Chicago History Museum - it was very interesting!!!! I love going to museums, and I love taking my time and reading as much as I can - I learned some things yesterday that I didn't know. After that we headed back home to go have dinner at our inlaws and then take the girls home. It was very very nice weekend, and it was great to get away for awhile:goodvibes

geffric - Is Geoff doing this through scouts? I hope he had good weather :wizard:

Belle - Sounds like you and The Beast had a good day celebrating his birthday :) Please tell him that I said, "happy birthday!!!!" :cake:

Danauk - What happened to your knee??? I'm so sorry you can't walk - that's terrible!!!!! I'll send tons and tons of PD your way to feel better soon!!!!:wizard:

Well, I"m off to workout, and I need to workout alot, I ate way to much this weekend!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Morning Taglikins!

Slo, sounds like you had a wonderful day. Did the weather cooperate? I think some bad weather came through on Sunday.

Well, I sucessfully avoided lots of chores this weekend and have Monday morning remorse. Feel rested, wish the house was more tidy! Will shoot for doing a bit each day this week so it's not such a chore next weekend.

.....gotta run and throw in a load of clothes so I have something to wear to work! :scared1:

.

:surfweb:

Are any of you watching The Next Food Network Star on The Food Network. I started watching this show last week, and I really like it :thumbsup2 It's kind of like The Apprentice but with food. Stephanie and I are watching it together, and she really enjoys it too ::yes::

ibounce - We did have some rainy times, but nothing severe, downtown. Thank goodness for cabs!!:thumbsup2

Well, I gotta run - have a good day today everyone!!!

:We had a birthday pie (lemon meringue) because it is too hot to think about baking carrot cake.

Love lemon meringue - I make a great one- if I do say so.
Hope Mr Beasty had a good day! :)

SloThe teacher I am supposed to work with is still off with stress (5 weeks off now) and I'm not sure when she will be back. So this week I have had to grade her assessment as well as my own. I'm not very amused at that as you can imagine.

So now her stress is giving you stress - great system. ::yes::
And perhaps the inspectors showing up every other week is adding to this stress.

Good luck sweety.

Slo Glad you had a fun weekend, I wish we had that food show on here, I love the apprentice.

Well I finally got some nice news at work today. I'm not having the year 6 class (the exam class) next year, instead I am having either the year 4 (8-9 year olds) or a 4/5 class. I am so happy 1) Not having the exam class means no revision which is really boring! 2) The year 6 class next year has lots of naughty kids in it, including the naughtiest boy in the school who I have now who will be far worse next year when he is in the oldest class in the school. That class is going to the teacher who is off still with stress - 6 weeks off now but she should be back next week 3) I'm not working with the teacher I worked with this year as she has got the exam class, insead I will be working with a new teacher which will be nice. I really like teaching year 4, they are probably my favourite year group and I haven't taught them for about 5 years so it should be better. Plus I'm not sure which assistant I am getting, but either one mentioned to work with me is nice and we work well together.
Oh on the inspection front, we have another 2 day inspection some time in the next 6 weeks, I am hoping it is the week I am away on camp! Then next year we will have another big 2 day inspection before christmas. After that hopefully they will leave us alone for a while!

It looks like it's a beautiful day today :sunny:
Which is great, because I'm off work, and I'm taking the girls to a beautiful park close to home, and I'm packing a picnic lunch. We are also taking their bikes so they can ride them at the park too (around a little lake). Then when we come home, they want to play in the pool. It looks like there's going to be no rain today, so they'll probably be able to do that :thumbsup2

Wally - I love lemon meringue too!!!!:goodvibes

Danauk - I'm so happy that you got some good news at work :woohoo: :yay:
**How is your knee doing???

Well, I'm going to go and start getting our lunch ready so we can leave before it gets to hot out. Have a great day today everyone!!!

Happy belated anniversary Slo!

Well Hello There Missy! Glad you stopped by. I noticed the Mike Super link in your siggie. He was on the Magic for the WE repo and was FABULOUS! And what a great guy. He told us whenever he comes to town to just e-mail and he'd send us tickets. My tablemates 14 year old son is into magic and Mike had lunch with him on one of the sea days to 'talk magic'. Great guy. ::yes::

Belated birthday greeting to the BEAST!

The girls had such a nice time at the park we went to, and we had a nice picnic lunch. Unfortunately, I got really really sunburned :sunny: It hurts!!!! Than after the park, we came home, and the girls swam in the pool, and than we ate dinner outside - it was a really great day!!!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Hellllloooooo! I lost you'all for a while there. I followed the bread crumbs through ibouncetoo!

I have been well - except for having my gallbladder out last week, but other than that, just waaay busy with work! :worried: I have only recently had some time to start DIS'ing a little more again - most likely, I should not spend the time doing it, but you know how it is when you have a cruise coming up - no matter how far away!

I am sooo jealous of you going on that repo cruise! It sounds like it was just the bomb!

That is so awesome about Mike Super! I missed his show at Mohegan Sun recently and I was sooooooo bummed. I am trying to get him to do our next cruise, which is April vacation next year. So I am trying to show him that there is a fan base here - not sure he even knows about the DIS. But, figure I can start it up! :bitelip: :hyper:

He sounds like such a great guy! Cutie pie too.

I have to tell you that I went to see Copperfield recently and was very close to him and I could not stop comparing the two magicians and totally felt that Mike was better now than David Copperfield!

So how have you'all been?

Slo

Hi everyone. Been busy, busy, busy as usual. My sister has been here this week with her 2 kids and Ian has been in heaven. (Sophia, too.) Too bad they have to leave tomorrow. Ian's camp started this week, too. It's been hard, after only 3 weeks, to get back into the routine of making lunches and getting up and out early every morning.

I'm now starting to get into serious trip planning mode. As soon as my sister leaves the guest bedroom is going to be turned into a staging area for packing. My intention is to put suitcases on the bed and as I run across or get things for the trip to just pack them immediately.

What's everyone doing for Father's Day????

We are having everyone at our house (we do all holidays :faint: ). I'm hoping and praying that the weather is nice, because we all want this to be a pool party, and if everyone has to stay in the house, that will be a bummer :( Currently, the weather is saying rain and storms on Sunday, but I'm hoping it'll be wrong {{fingers crossed}}

castlegazer - I"m so sorry to hear of your gallbladder coming out :( I had mine out when I was 25 (12 years ago) and I was so sick with it (I was hospitalized for a week). I sure hope you weren't as sick as I was, and I hope you are having a quick recovery :wizard:

RRBB - How nice that you've been having a nice time with your sister and family :goodvibes I wish my kids had cousins, and I have no idea if my brother and wife will have children. I"m praying they will, because if would be fun to have nieces of nephews:)
**When are you leaving on vacation? I'm an early packer and packer planner too ::yes:: By the end of August I will have a pad of paper out on my dresser so I can write down things I want to pack so I don't forget.

Well, I gotta get myself moving and shaking
Have a good day today everyone!!!
