***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

DDE was doing an advance schedule for members and mailing on the 14th.

I am guessing that is what this person is talking about. DDE always does an advance mailing of the completed schedule, it just doesn't always reach everyone before the official website release of events.

Well, I don't know of anyone who has received anything from DDE, and I don't know anyone who received the DDE mailing prior to the booking date last year, and once burned I am not counting on that again.

"Cat" is Cat Cora (celebrity chef). LOVED her kitchen conversation last year, maybe they will add one for her.

Cat will be 'demo'ing at various stages and events the weekend of November 1st.'
I'm assuming that includes Party for the Senses for 11/01/2008.

That's awesome! We'll be there! :thumbsup2 Where did you get this info?

Actually, I received mine the Saturday before the Monday reservations were to take place. I remember bringing it to work with me to use to book the events.

I don't think we received ours until a few weeks after booking started, last year. Haven't seen this year's yet, either.

Same here. I don't recall any year where we received the mailed brochure prior to the booking date. Nice souvenir, but otherwise it was pretty useless for us.

from Cat :cat: ... she responded to an email I sent to her offices.

Hi Sally,

Thank you so much for writing to me.
I WILL indeed be at the Disney Festival again this year at Epcot, demo'ing at various stages and events the weekend of November 1st.

See you then!

Keep Cooking,
Cat

I also received the mailed brochure on Saturday, August 4, 2007. Reservations opened Monday, August 6 at 7 am EST. I marked the date I received it on my calendar and keep my calendars for several years. ;) My brain cells keep diminishing for some reason and I use all the tricks I can.
So that means I will be hovering near my mailbox at delivery time this coming Saturday if I don't receive it before then. :goodvibes

DDE dosen't send things out anymore :sad2: . Thats what I was told when I called last month. Because you can get the info from DTD guest relations. I did get my Mickey Monitor in the mail last week.

Andrew Shotts from Garrison Confections will be at the festival from 10/3 - 10/5 and will be at the 10/4 PFTS.

Hi guys, just a quick question.

I see that the theme this year is Foodie Cities and there are menu items listed for the World Showcase kiosks. Are these the full menus or just a couple items listed for each of the kiosks? I've been to the festival the last 2 years and know that the previous couple years they've had beer samples at each country, and there are usually 3-4 different menu items as well on top of that.

TIA, looking forward to this year!

I would look for there to be beverages at each booth, although they're not listed.

Nobody knows if that list of food items is final or not.

I'm personally hoping that food item list is not final. It seems...a lot less than the previous couple years. Example is Istanbul where they only have Manti and Baklava listed. If you look at last years menu, there are just more items, so I'm guessing and hoping anyways that there will be more stuff listed. Hopefully.

I'm an annual pass-holder and have not attended any of the other special events in the previous years. I'm hoping to end that streak this year though, there seem to be quite a few events going on. I just don't know if it is really worth it to spend $100+ per person or not only because I don't know what to expect. The one I'm looking at right now is the City Tastes, particularly Taste of Spain and Taste of Italian Cities.

DH and I are thinking of heading down to Food and Wine for a long weekend in October. Is there enough to do to fill two whole days at Epcot (F and W stuff) or should I just plan one day there and a day at another park? Thanks!

Nobody here can tell you that about the City Tastes. This will be the first year they are presented.

We spend 2-3 days a week doing FWF things, for all 6 weeks, but that's us. ;)

Does the Premium Annial Pass or the DDE card get you any discounts on any events or food/drink at the booths in Epcot during the F&W festival? If so, please provide details!

Nope. Does make it less painful when doing the events that require park tickets, though.

No discounts.

In the past, dining plan snack credits could be used for food or non-alcoholic beverages at the booths (don't know yet about this year). That's it.
