Epcot boats going away?

I read on Screamscape.com that Disney is thinking of getting rid of the Friendship boats that run across the lagoon at Epcot (they would, however, keep the boats that run between the International Gateway, MGM, and the resorts).

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

The boats were still running on Saturday when I was at Epcot.

This rumor keeps cropping up. The consensus here is that if the waterline gets too low (on account of the drought Florida is going through), they may stop running some of the boats, but that they're likely to start again once they get some water.
