Hi. My mother and I will be at BWVs three nights before my ds and dh arrive.
We plan on going over to EPCOT one evening for dinner.
We've been to most places there but I'm having a hard time choosing where we should eat.
We would like a nice relaxing atmosphere, good food/drinks. We do not care about seeing Illuminations. What would you recommend and why?
Thanks so much!

Epcot
I always wanted to eat at Mexico because I think it looks really cool inside. But, DW is scared.
Via Napoli was great but not for atmosphere.
Tutto had both great food and formal atmosphere.

Boardwalk area
Honestly, we enjoy ESPN Club.
Yachtsmen's steakhouse had great food and atmosphere.

Thanks so much. We've eaten in Mexico many times and I guess that can be a possibility. Never been to Tutto, will have to look into that one. We are from NY so are very spoiled with good Italian restaurants but I'll take a look at the menu and see if people here give it good reviews.
Yachtsmen is closed for Refurb when we are there Aug/Sept and that was one of my ds's choices for when they arrive. Think we are doing Jiko instead.
Will go to ESPN when dh and ds arrive not a place my mother and I are looking for during our few days before the guys come. Thanks so much I appreciate your help.

Hmm, I am LC fan. But I would also def. recommend San Angel or Tutto.
Thank you. What is LC? Again Tutto. Will look into that since never been.

KY isn't known for its fine Italian dining, but I thought the food was excellent there. Tutto was a bit more formal atmosphere, which would have been great if DW and I were on a date, and maybe not so much with two hungry kids. The service was excellent. Have a great trip.

If you want something a little more 'grown up' how about La Hacienda or Bistro de Paris?

Nice relaxing atmosphere and Epcot restaurants cannot exist together in the same sentence, except possibly for the Morrocan Restaurant which never seems to get as much business as the others. We like it. Food is interesting, belly dancer is fun.

Otherwise, f you want a nice relaxing meal, don't go to Epcot. Head over to the Swan/Dolphin and do Blue Zoo if you like fish, Il Mulino if you want excellent Italian (of course there is an Il Mulino in NYC as well), Shula's if you want steak.

DDP has ruined any hope of a relaxing meal at Epcot.

One other thought -- if you want a really nice mom/daughter night out, book a table in the dining room at V&A. Wonderful atmosphere, amazing food, extraordinary wine pairings. V&A is not just for lovers. My best friend and I dine there every once in a while and always enjoy it. If I asked her today where should we dine at WDW before the hubs arrive, there would only be one answer -- V&A.

I don't find many of the restaurants in WDW as relaxing, but have had great meals. I really like Chefs de France and Le Cellier might be another great choice. I've never been to coral reef, but that may be a good one to check out.

I'd suggest La Hacienda on the later side of dinner. I think the interior is nice, the booths are very high and can make you feel pretty sequestered, and eating late should make the restaurant less crowded. It's especially good if you're a margarita fan.

Le Cellier isnt very good. I would never recommend that place to anyone. So over rated.

Try Tutto or Bistro/Paris. :thumbsup2

Having been to almost all of the restaurants there, our favorites are Via Napoli and LeCellier. We've been lucky I suppose, but have always had great food and service.

Just wanted to mention a wonderful mother/daughter experience that we've shared:
We usually go to a spa for a treatment or two and then have Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. I looked at the menu for Tutto and it looks OK. I think I am going to leave the Italian food for our dinners in NY. I've now crossed off Tutto/Italian.

Thank you. LaHacienda we have been to many times so wanted something different. I looked at the menu for BIstro de Paris and this may be a top choice. Thank you.

Isn't Morrocan a buffet? I definately do not want buffet. I understand about relaxing/EPCOT but we are staying at Boardwalk for 8 nights so have already incorporated Blue Zoo and possibly Shulas (since Yachtsman will be closed due to refurb). We want to keep it in Epcot since we will have been there during the day and will want to get off the Boardwalk and have a different location for dinner.

Thank you. My mother and dd did V&A Chefs Table a few years ago. We will be at GF one night for Citricos but want really to stay in Epcot for dinner the day we are there touring. Thanks!

Thanks. I haven't been to Coral Reef in a long time but I remember the last time I was there I thought it was rather dirty and very over rated but that was years ago. Has it been getting good reviews lately? We have never been to Chefs de France (Is that same as Bistro de Paris??? or are they two different restaurants?). This may be one of the top picks since it has been getting mentioned here and the other dark side message board.

I am quite a big margarita fan but we have been here so many times. I will ask my mother but I think she got sick last year after La Hacienda but she is not sure if it is from the margaritas or not LOL

Thanks. Tutto/Italian is out. Is Bistro/Paris the same place? Does France only have one restaurant? Thanks!

We wanted to keep in Epcot for our one day and plan on going to GF for another dinner at Citrios. Can't do spa that trip since it will be our third big vacation during the summer and my dh will kill me since spas are planned for DR. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much everyone for taking the time to respond.
I think the top choices are LeCelliar and Chefs de France/Paris...Is there only one restaurant in France. I keep seeing two different names on two different boards. Thanks!

Chefs de France and Bistro De Paris are two different restaurants. Bistro is upstairs and more upscale (and more expensive of course). :)

My mom and & I are also going to be there 1st week in sept as a mother daughter trip! I too am from Ny as you can see, yes very spoiled by our food. I have been to tutto many times and I thought it was great. ( I loved looking at the italian waitors too!)
I cant comment on a few others that we havent done but doing in sept! I didnt like Germany's Resturant but I do not like buffets. The chinese place was good nothing great. I would defintely try tutto, get a glass of wine and relax, eat and enjoy!:)

Thank you. I want Bistro then. Thank you VERY much for clarifying that for me.

Thanks so much! I think we are going to try Bistro our next trip.
I'll keep Tutto on my list of must dos though.
Enjoy the trip with your mom!

When we go to Epcot the two restaurants that we have to go to are Le Cellier and Les Chefs de France; they are both so delicious and low key. We don't have kids when we go so we're similar in that sense. However, they both are rather difficult to get a reservation for. If there are not any openings for your time I suggest checking daily in the hopes that someone may cancel theirs (it's worked for us in teh past).
Good luck!
