Help

For some months now my emails to DC have been bouncing back undelivered.

I've spoken to them and they say its not a problem at their end and there's no reason this should happen. I've used both links on teh Club website and have typed out the addy by hand.

Anyone else have this problem or is it just me ?

This is what I get

Not tried e-mailing them yet, but spoke to a very nice lady today there, to renew our membership until the end of the year.

I've been trying to email them as I'm not sure about the amount they've charged me for 6 months renewal. I thought it was a pro-rata amount but I'm sure they've charged me the same as the whole of last year

I sent ages in a queue and on hold last time I rang :(

They charged me $42, but our current membership doesn't expire until end of July. I thought it was rather too much, and repeated to her that it was pro-rata, and she said that it was. How much did you pay? I can't remember what we paid last year. The $42 does include shipping, but still seems like quite alot!
Ian

I was charged $49.95 - mine expires end of June. Sure I paid that amount last year

Seems like we paid the same pro-rata amounts, $7 or $8 for each month. I wonder if anyone knows for sure what a year used to be, I imagine we'll get more responses when people are awake tomorrow! Off to bed, got to work tomorrow and earn those pennies we'll be spending at Disney!!!

Hi guys,

I renewed our (final) subscription a few months ago, and got 4 months for $29.95. I thought this was a little high so questioned the cost and was told it was down to the international shipping.

As for your email problem Tracey, it's just possible it might be an issue with your ISP (though unlikely) - do you have or can you create a hotmail account and try sending the email through that ?

Paul

Did you all just ring the number on the back of the card?

Thanx

I arranged mine via email Sam, with a final fax to confirm credit card details.

Paul

I can email DC fine with my Hotmail account - thanks for the suggestion :D

They say to contact my 'carrier' (ISP I assume) to resolve the problem.

I've also emailed DC about the cost of my DC renewal - they said to take the matter up with my 'carrier'

Methinks they didn't read my email and just send out a blanket reply. I hate it when they do that  suitably sarcastic reply sent back ;)

It also looks as though the new Fairytale discount package (7 nights for the price of 4) that's just been announced it for US residents only so yet again - we miss out :(

I know what you mean about the standard replies - they can be so frustrating sometimes

What are the fairytale discount packages ? I don't think i've come across them before. Bummer if it's another think that doesn't cover us Brits (Mickey Monitor for UK AP holders, Disney Visa, etc).

Paul

It seems it was just a miss-informed CM who told a Canadian member she couldn't book. Her booking was taken by another CM 10 mins later.

The Fairytale discounts have just gone live for DC members today and will be available to the general public from May 11th. I think they're valid til the end of October.

Plenty of threads about it on the Resorts forum :D

We are having the same problems. Renewed back in January - card wasn't due to run out till June. Wasn't happy at the price we had to pay as everybody else was getting prorated. Received the new card very quickly HOWEVER we stopped getting the coupons. Phoned last month to be told that for some reason my credit card company declined my transaction (No idea why as it working here fine). So they took my details again. It wasn't till I was off the phone that I suddenly realised that I had paid till June so should have been getting the coupons till then.
Got an email welcoming me back but everytime I try and sign in I get an unathorised page. Yes I could phone but it costs a fortune and I find it so much easier to email. We'll wait and see if I get a reply.

Well, I contacted Freeserve about the problem, as suggested (twice !) by Disney Club. They say that Disney must be bouncing my emails deliberately !! They haven't replied to my query about the cost and I'm reading reports on the US boards that its costing them between $14-$19 to renew - and that's from people whose membership has already expired - mine still runs to June

Think I've been 'done' -AND I've only had 2 disney magazines in 2years of membership

Tracey, what is the DC e-mail address. I've looked and looked at the website but can't seem to find it (it's probably staring me in the face!)
I'm going to try e-mailing them, from what you say it sounds as if we've been over charged (to say the least!).
Does anyone know whether we are ever going to allowed to have a crack at the Disney club replacement, the credit card! If it didn't cost all that much and offered good discounts, it might be worth it?
Ian

Great news Tracey, I've just e-mailed them, we'll have to wait quite a while probably for a response. Incidentally, I think I may have been charged extra for a second card. The woman asked me whether I wanted it again (didn't mention there would be a charge) and I said without thinking, 'yes'. I seem to remember from last year that they charge you an extra $10(understandably), I'm not sure that it's really worth it for only part of a year. In fact if we only have one between us, dw can't wander off in World of Disney and spend a fortune (at least not without me!)
Ian

Just e-mailed them, got exactly the same response you did Tracey, it was bounced back! We're with Freeserve (broadband) and it definitely isn't anything to do with them, so far they've been very reliable!
Ian

Freeserve tell me that Disney are either bouncing my address or Freeserve addresses in general, they also say to try an fsmail account and ...
Please let us know what happens and in the mean time I will try to find out if any of the Freeserve addresses are being blocked by Disney.

- have you got an 'fslife' address or one of the others ? Maybe you could email freeserve as well to let them know ?

Has anyone else had any similar problems ?

We will get to the bottom of this !!

Mines fsnet, whatever that means! It seems amazing that permanent e-mail addresses can't get through to them, but a free one like hotmail can. It's a funny world isn't it!!!
