Elisabeth Hasselbeck annoys me!

Elisabeth is no "poor little Elisabeth". I've seen her on cable news shows, she is very well spoken and knowledgable about current political issues, as well as being attractive. Pretty doesnt equal dumb.

I think we all care deeply that innocent Iraqi's have died. But we are fighting an enemy that would sooner die than let us live, and will disguise themselves as innocent people to accomplish that. Rosie's comments were unamerican IMO.

I agree :thumbsup2 Rosie is crazy but don't want to get into that flame throwing issue again :rotfl2: I like Elizabeth and have also seen her on other political talk shows and seems to stay in tune with what is going on. She is no apponent for Rosie because Rosie walks all over her and totaly insults her. Elizabeth gets very flustered and so pissed at Rosie, makes me want to go through the TV and tell Rosie to shut up and listen for a minute.

This show is heading for a crash and burn again. I stopped watching after a few shows with Rosie. Could not listen to her.

Access Hollywood is doing a feature on this mess right now. It also seems like Donald Trump has hit out at both EH and Roise.

I guess I'm the weird one, I like Rosie AND Elizabeth. Joy too. The only one who annoys me on that show is Barbara.

I didn't see the episode in question though.

I am shocked to read that Elizabeth was on Survivor. I had no idea. That actually makes me like her even a little more...I thought she was a dainty little thing, had no idea she was so tough! Good for her. She's my polar opposite politically, but I think she is a pretty smart cookie just the same.

Rosie I've always loved. I like people who aren't afraid to stand up for what they believe in. And goodness knows she has taken the heat for it. I don't think what she is saying is overboard at all, I think she is saying what many people are thinking. Many AMERICANS who LOVE this country feel the same way as Rosie does, believe it or not.

Don't waste your respect. She hooked herself onto a older male survivor and didn't do much on her own but be 'eye candy'...:rolleyes1 She reminds me of the kind of little girl who always runs to Daddy for help... not being strong on her own.

Like I said before I could have her for lunch  , she's a punk.

Bring on someone with a backbone! Come on, View, there's got to be someone out there!

Many AMERICANS who LOVE this country and our TROOPS feel the same way. Being spitting mad at our current administration and supporting our hard working troops are not mutually exclusive.
:

OT: OMG, I miss the chicken sandwiches at MOS burger so much.

I can't believe that Rosie or anyone else on here is worried about how many Iraqis have been killed when American soldiers continue to die on a daily basis.

First, the 600,000 Iraqi civilian death toll number has been debunked many times for being way too high.

Second, we went to war with Iraq. Of course Iraqis are going to die. In WWII, we went to war against all Germans, not just those in the Nazi party. Did any of you care how many Germans died in WWII that were not in the Nazi party? I doubt it. You cannot fight a war against a country and try to distinguish between the bad and good people living there. It is impossible. We do not target civilians but sometimes there is collateral damage. That is war. Terrorists specifically target civilians, that is why they are different.

Third, since the Iraqi government was overthrown, Iraqi deaths have been largely due to islamic terrorist groups, not Americans.

But isn't there is a huge difference between WWII and this war? Germany as a nation was attacking from many angles. Not some militant group who happened to share a religion. And a large group of nations banded together, in agreement, to fight. And I'm sure even then that some people still hated the fact that innocent German civilans, those who didn't support the regime or their plan, were dying despite the fact that war obviously means innocents die.

Iraq did not attack. Terrorists did. And most being Saudis. And their leader last seen in Afghanistan not Iraq. It's been put out by those in the know that Bin Laden and Hussein were hardly in tandem. To the absolute contrary. And if we look at the atrocities that Saddam did as one of the reasons to become involved. Fine. A noble cause to stop atrocities in the world if that was any of the intent. Sarcasm about intent yes. Then what about the Sudan? What about North Korea? What about Rwanda? What about so many other countries in the world? Just questions. And don't post about no connection with these countries to 9/11. Cause apparently there is none in Iraq either.

I like listening to your former President Carter. I have a lot of respect for his words. And he has been very frank about he feels this, these choices, will affect the future. I know in stating this I'm going to get the "Canadians sit back" argument (despite WWI US/Can history and work in Afghanistan). Okay. Fine. Sitting back and doing nothing was not an option for many countries who did not support the Iraqi war. It was not so black and white. So all or nothing. Our PM at the time had another plan given as a secondary option. Let's give the UN an utimatum, a strict concise timeline, to do its job. And if in a set amount of time, agreed by a tremendous amount of nations, if the UN does not follow its own guidelines then as a large contigent we'll look at going in together. There were other options. But President Bush, and PM Blair, were determined not to wait for any set amount of time.

And I do think in this situation that one can care about the death of soldiers who are sacrificing everything. And their families that are under so much stress. So brave. So noble. And care that innocent Iraqis are dying too. I personally don't see those thoughts as incongruent.

Hate/love Rosie...hate/love Elisabeth. It's made a lot of people think about more than celebrity gossip.

Honestly, I don't like either one of them. They're like two spoiled children trying to scream over one another that their way is the "right" way. There never seems to be any rational, adult conversation between the two and one of them always resorts to cheap shots. Rosie is one of those "it's my way or no way" people who thinks that unless you believe exactly what she does, you're an ignorant and uninformed clod. She expects you to respect her opinions but refuses to bestow the same courtesy on others. I'll echo the sentiments of a previous poster who likened her to someone who posts a controversial topic on the DIS, gets their say in, and as soon as people challenge them on it they bail out. Elizabeth reminds me of the puny kid on the playground who wants to play with the bigger kids but at the first sign of confrontation gets scared and runs off to play alone.

They're both ridiculous, IMO.

Totally agree. I'm not a Rosie fan or an Elisabeth fan.

I just saw todays show. It was so fake and contrived in my opinion Rosie will not come back. I wouldn't.

Waaaa waaaaaaa, looks like Rosie is going to take her ball and go home......good! I am glad Elisabeth stood up to her and refused to interpret her thoughts for her. Rosie was just incensed that "sweet little Elisabeth" grew a back bone and refused to be backed into a corner by her. She could not bend Elisabeth to her will and demand she answer in a way that was satisfactory to her....

People mistake Elisabeth's calm demeanor and sweet temperment for "weak or stupid". No, it is called class people - something Rosie will never understand.

BTW - WHY does Rosie post on her blog like a 10 year old?

I don't think I mistook it at all. If it looks like a duck, acts like a duck and walks like a duck... you know the rest.

I admire and respect "class"... something I definitely do not go to the View for. Class remains still, does not shriek and whine or continually debate it's point. Class makes the other person look like a fool, while she sits with dignity. What I saw yesterday was not "class"... on either side.

I'm still putting my money on Rosie not going back.

This was posted on her blog a few hours ago:

Q: Is there any possibility you will be staying on with the view?
A:
when painting
there is a point
u must step away from the canvas
as the work
is done

anymore would take away
