Love it or hate it, just back from the grocery store and it is on the shelves. Seems to come earlier every year.
Of course, I was in Ace Hardware yesterday and they were already starting to mark down prices on their unsold Christmas decorations.

I’ve seen egg nog in supermarkets for several weeks now.

As for Xmas decor, many places put them on “sale” on the first day of display. Mark them up 200% so they have them on “sale” for 30% off.

the stuff sold commercially is NASTY. i only ever bought the fresh (no artificial flavors added) glass bottled stuff stornetta's dairy in sonoma ca used to sell. homemade is good as well-none of that nasty fake alcohol flavoring or over sweetening.

Had it for the first time last year and surprisingly like it. I am sure I will get some to enjoy this year. But not until Christmas week.

Yum, but I'm still into Pumpkin Spice right now I don't get any until Thanksgiving & like the So Co one well enough for a glass or two.

Suspect it shows up early because lots of people enjoy it in their coffee throughout the holidays.

I don’t mind that early, but I hate the decor b/c I don’t want to buy that early & it’s sold out by the time I do actually decorate for Christmas!

I saw it appearing in stores near me about a week ago and when I went shopping today, every kind was sold out except for the dairy free versions. They'll keep putting it out this early if people keep buying it, I guess. I haven't bought any yet because I haven't seen the brand I prefer (Turkey Hill). I love eggnog with some whisky - yum!

You've complained about this before. If you really want to get worked up, check out a craft store--they start putting out the Christmas stuff at the beginning of July. Of course, crafters need a lead time to make everything (or, more likely, to PLAN to make everything, then run out of time, put it aside for next year, and forget where it is, but I digress...).

No one is being forced to purchase, consume, or decorate any earlier than they want to.

I like it but usually can't drink very much because it's so rich. And I usually get sick of it before I finish the carton.

I think my store usually sells at least one kind of egg nog all year long but during Christmas they bring in other brands.

And I was in Meijer today and they have a LOT of Christmas stuff out. It happens earlier every year because stores need the sales and if they don't put it out, somebody else will and get the sales.

I like it if it isn't too strong with the fake flavor. I just like a real subtle eggnog taste. About 20 years ago, Safeway used to sell their own brand of Safeway Gourmet and Gourmet Light egg nog. It was really good for a commercial eggnog. Very on point with the flavor and not too fake tasting. The really enjoyed the light version over the regular version. Of course, while they still make it (carton looks different and I think it just uses "Lucerne" now instead of the Safeway logo), it definitely not the same stuff and I've tried brand after brand trying to find it again somehow, but it no longer exists apparently.

Yes!! The problem is, I'll buy it, and forget it's in the fridge for 3 weeks, haha.

I make an eggnog pound cake and eggnog ice cream, and I can only do it once a year., because they are so rich, and heavy with bourbon.
