EBPC December 9, 2012!!! PART 2

I donated blood last week after the 1 year wait after my last Cozumel visit. But they told me that Cozomel is off the bad list (I think it was malaria) and now no restrictions on donating blood after visiting. Are any of our other Mexican ports on the bad list? Or Columbia?:confused3

I'm guessing Colombia might be on the list, or maybe the Panama Canal?

Hi Everyone!

I am completely out of the loop as I haven't been following the thread in a while. What pertinent facts should I know, any scheduled meets that I need to my calendar?

Now is the time to panic!

PANIC!!!!:scared::scared: We leave tomorrow morning and I haven't put anything in my suitcase yet. No sleep for me tonight. :hourglass

Alright! Another packing procrastinator! :wave2:

I just finished up my door magnets so that's marked off the list. ::yes::

I remember the first time I went to Colorado and we couldn't buy alcohol on Sunday. I didn't understand why we didn't just go to the grocery store. When we went the next day I was again surprised that you had to go to a "Liquor Store" to buy liquor and that the beer in the grocery store was different than the beer in a liquor store. So the experts in those areas just make sure they have plenty on stock so it's never an issue.

! :drinking1

Cathy

You can now buy liquor on Sundays in Colorado. However, you either need to go to a liquor store (which sells nothing but liquor -no chips, produce, groceries) or know where the one store of a chain like Target/Kroger/Walmart has their ONE store in the state where they can sell liquor. Every chain that has a pharmacy license can have one designated store to sell liquor.

Or you can just go to Wyoming like we did in college.

I ran up to the outlets outside of Houston this morning and I ran into the Disney Store. I picked up some great bargains. I also picked up a scrapbook kit from Disneyland. I am not a scrapbooker but I thought I would bring it to your scrapbook meet so those of you who went to Disneyland before the cruise could share the kit. :santa: Sherry

I would love to take advantage of that offer! I went to DL earlier this year but picked up no "stuff" for scrapbook.

OK, so I think there was general agreement that it would be good to have a little game associated with the stateroom crawl. I've thought about several things that have pros/cons associated with them. What I think would work and be simple would be to have a prize(s) in each stateroom. Ahead of time, a particular number is assigned to each prize and that is displayed with the prize in the stateroom. At the start, crawl participants are given slips of paper with a number written on it and they compare their paper to what is on the prize as they do the tour. If they match, they win the prize and take it with them.

Sound simple enough?

Susan and I bought some NASA items in our Center gift shop that we will bring as prizes. If others would like to bring something too, that would be appreciated. Just let me know (post/PM/email).
I can pick up some local treats that will be a fun prize!
Thanks again Jeff for all your hard work- we really appreciate it!!:cheer2:

Colorado is no longer a "dry state" on Sundays!!! We always had to plan accordingly and never when the mood hit you:)

I sell plasma twice a week and none of our stops are on the "wait a year" list:cool1: I can keep paying for this trip!

Box Wine Question

Don't laugh too hard but can anyone recommend a brand of box wine to buy? I usually drink red wines like Syrah or Cabernet.

I like blush wine, so no help. :dance3:
That or so sweet it's like grape juice.

Another fan here for Malibu Rum! But I add mine to pineapple juice...make it a fuity drink for me. When we were in concierge on a mexican riviera cruise, at the reception, that is what I drank, but they didn't have a name for it, so my DS named it the Crazy Porcupine...the name has stuck so whenever we are with our friends who were with us, we always have some Crazy Porcupines! I will be bringing some of that with me this cruise. But I will have to try it with Diet Coke...never crossed my mind before, so I am excited to try it.

Malibu and pineapple juice is my drink of choice too! i've also added a splash of sprite to jazz it up.
