EBPC December 9, 2012!!! PART 2

I was looking at the hotel for restaurants close by (in case we're not interested in eating at the hotel), and realized they had dropped the price on rooms at the Doubletree the night before our cruise. I rebooked the room and saved over $45! So I checked our Embassy Suites reservation for after the cruise, and for the two nights I saved $54! So by just rebooking both I saved over $100. I can't believe it!

Google MVP rates for Corporate discount codes that give you the best rates (even better than prepaid).

We bought some really nice plastic bottles at Menards, or all places. I had gotten some tin ones at Kohls, but they were $10. The plastic ones were 3. They seal and lock so that they won't leak. I figure if we don't have room to pack them we can leave them. They also had a key chain hanger.
You still have to use a paper cup to fill them, but it's so much easier to carry them around.

You're making me nervous! (staying at the doubletree)

Cartagena private tour I just had a last minute cancellation. If you would like to go and have a party of 3 or fewer please pm.

I don't know where the DoubleTree is but I do know where the Vagabond and San Pedro Inn Suites are. Like any area, you must always be aware of your surroundings.

We stayed at the Crowne in September, and I would not venture out after dark. I'm staying there again next weekend. I said it! NEXT WEEKEND ::yes::. We did go to the CVS for an adult beverage run and yes, my alert signals were on high. We would have stayed at the Vagabond or the San Pedro Inn Suites except we had a large object stored in our car and we did not care for the parking arrangements at these hotels. We much preferred the underground, video monitored parking at the Crowne.

I'm staying at the Crowne this time because I am not traveling with my dh, I've been very pleased in the past with the shuttle service and the close proximately to port.

Linda...sent you a PM for more info on Cartagena tour. We are now a party of 2.

Linda D.

Very nice calendar. Sometimes the best things are the simple things. I use TripIt on the web. It syncs my calendar with my phone, Gmail, and work.
:thumbsup2 Way too techie for me! I'm definitely a "google and print it out" type of girl.

I've not been on at all (obviously) because of some not-so-good times here at the house of skoi, but have been following up/clarifying the arrangements for the brunch and tour.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Julie
Good to see you back...hope things are better at the house of skoi .

As far as the time for M&G, either 2:30 or 3 is fine; however there is usually an open-house at the spa at 2:30 (where they raffle off free services!) and a lot of people are just getting into their cabins, making dining res./changes, or checking out the kids clubs. Just throwin' it out there!

Tomorrow will be haircut, final shopping, and packing day. Next week this time, we'll be in the land of Mickey!!!:banana::banana:

Thank you to everyone for the good wishes. :) Today I am flying to LA, then have two days to see my friend (which was originally a 9 day visit) and then I fly back to the UK. Lots of flying! This thread is making me so jealous though, I would love to be packing my fish extender and formal wear...

We don't fly out until Saturday, sadly. I wanted to fly out Friday at the latest, to let the kids' schedules adjust before getting on board, but I don't have the vacation time. Plus, reporting is due on the 5th working day of the month, so I'll probably be working late Friday, right before our 6:30 am flight Saturday morning.

I can't remember who mentioned your coworkers dropping off & picking you up - but you sure have some nice coworkers! We're spending about $250 round trip on cabs to the airport in Newark. One of our neighbors offered, but I didn't want to pull her out of bed at 3:30 am. :surfweb:

Does anyone have the names and cabin numbers of the 9 and 11 year old girls with birthdays handy? I looked through the posts and couldn't find them, probably missed them when scrolling!
TIA:thumbsup2

So my DH said the 'Bota Box' box wine is quite good for dinner. He has only tried the Zin and Cab. One box equals about three bottles of wine.

Thanks! I saw that one last night at Safeway when I picked up a Black Box Cab to try. I have to say it was not bad! What was so cool is how small and light the box is :cool1:

Funny I did the same thing before remembering it was an email thread.
I'll PM you the room number I know (the other one was still GTY last I looked) as I don't want to put the girls names and room number on the public site without mama's permission.

Good Job! I was going to suggest checking the FE list.

Off to check the Doubletree rates and see if I can save some more!:thumbsup2

Yeah!!! Got it- thanks so much!!!! :goodvibes

We are flying into Longbeach on Saturday night and staying at the Hyatt Pike. It looked close. Anyone familiar with the area? We were going to walk on Saturday morning to get some wine as there were stores nearby that looked close. Hope that area is ok. Sherry:cool1:

Thank you for the info. So now I'm concerned .... is the Vagabond okay for two nights?
Judy, there will be four of us staying at the Vagabond on Saturday night. We stayed there last December and had no problem. We left the car there for a week, with no issues, either. It's not the world's greatest hotel, but the rooms are okay and they started taking us to the ship around 9 am. Breakfast was donuts and/or muffins, coffee and tea. Worked for us.

That's a perfect area for staying prior to the cruise! :thumbsup2

It is done! Please check it - I am not above transposing numbers.

Also, I added the "White Rabbit" group tab onto the regular FE worksheet so it's all together.

Regarding the girls, recall that Linda's (adnil50) daughter is no longer going on the cruise. I've updated the FE list to reflect that as well.

Since we have decided to stay two nights we want to be able to get out and walk around the area and go out to eat. So that said....

Can you change it? That area is really, really not a good area. Down at the Doubletree, near the water is much better.

Thank you for the information. We have changed our reservations to the Doubletree. Got a really good rate.

Not long now!!!!! :dance3:
