Hello - my daughter will be 15 at the time of cruising but only by 1 month :) and I am sure she would love to "talk" with your daughter before the cruise. Our son will turn 13 on the cruise - let me know if you want to get the kids in touch - mine both have emails and cell phones :) We home school and so it will be great for her to meet people on the curise before the cruise.

Krisann

It sounds like the kids will so close in age. I think it would be fun if they communicate before hand. We went on the EB PC and my daughter met a friend before hand so it was lots of fun when they met and hung out. So she wants to do it again. She started a cruise meets forum for our kids on the cruise. So if they can look for it and reply that would get them started.
Thanks for the reply, Crystal

Wow the airfare went up!!! For our family of five plus the grandparents, we saved $3500 by booking that first day. :yay:

I know, it was a good thing for many but some are quite frustrated. It is always hard to think you miss out on a deal...I wish I added it for my MIL...oh well. I think the current rate is still pretty competitive. And I am very grateful Nan turned me on to it to get it for our family of 6.

Hi Michelle - how is your Dad? I think I read on our WB thread that he is doing better?

I'm heading to bed....tired....night.
Lisa

I think we will all walk behind Wilson as he speaks Spanish on our behalf. I just had a thought, you think Sukie & I are bad what about the Sukie and Wilson combo :scared1: I can see them pointing their fingers at each other saying he said to do it he said it was ok blame him not me :rotfl:

But I should be behind them with a camera... :rolleyes1

Welcome and what are your names???

I'm Nan & crusing with me is Wilson my DS 10. We're leaving DH and DD home for this one, just making it a mom & son to Europe cruise ::yes::

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

We also saved over $3000 for our family of 7! Apparently there was a glitch in the reservation system that has now been corrected.

Hi Crystal! We are also booked for this cruise. Just off the WB Panama and for the first time had a Inside Cat 10. I was really not feeling the inside cabin for 15 nights thing, but ship was sold out and I really wanted to go! We had a great time and we barely spent anytime in the room. When we did, we did not miss not having an outside room like I thought we would.
Matter of fact, we booked the exact same cat 10 roomfor this EB TA cruise!
I hope we have our same room steward. Clifford was awesome and he would be soooo surprised to see us!

I actually thought about 2 connecting Cat 11 but it seems our airfare thru DCL would go up, so Im leaving it alone!

We were on the EB Panama but had a window.I thought I'll never know if I can handle a inside unless I try it. It makes me feel better that you booked it again a second time. It gives me hope. I'm the kind of person who always has to have the windows open( so I can see light ) at home.I guess I can always go to deck 4.My husband wants to save the 1200. extra it would cost for the window so I'm stuck right now.I got the great airfare too so I don't want to make any changes.
Just happy if I can go on this cruise. Hoping the kids cans miss school ...7th and 8th grade might be hard to miss. Anybody else pull there kids out of school for 2 weeks of vacation at this age.My kids are already stressing about the make up work.

Congrats to you too.:cool1: We saved $1920 on airfare for the 4 of us!!! Makes me feel like we are surposed to go on this cruise.:yay:

Lisa - no one missed a "deal". DCL had a defect in the system and mispriced the airfare. Yesterday, I tried to change the flights to arrive the evening before (I'm scared of flying out of O'Hare on the day of the cruise), and the fare nearly doubled. They would not let the travel agent reinstate the booking the way it was.

We just have to watch what DCL does and if they honor the mistakes.

Nan - you're going to have to tell Wilson that I'm going to plan an "Edwardian Night" on board. I understand he likes to dress up.

Hi all! We were on the EB PC and it truly was the TOAL. We are looking forward to the TOAL Part 2. Our daughter will be 11 and our son will be 7. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Coming from the EB PC, I really liked the Pirates theme for our group. How about "Pirates of the Spanish Main" ??

The Spanish Main was the mainland coast of the Spanish Empire and it included Florida as well as parts of the Caribbean. I figured this is very fitting.

We are in too.

Hi there, i'm so excited, we have booked the EB TA.
We are Yvet 32 years old and my DH Emiel 42 years old.
We live in The Netherlands and are going one week before the cruise to WDW and then the cruise back to Europe and we fly from Barcelona back home.

We have done the 7 night Western cruise last May and May 2009 we go on the Podcast cruise.

It's going to be a really fun cruise.

welcome to all the new people!

Is anyone keeping "a list" of who is going to post at the front like we did for the WB PC?

Krisann

Hi
We will hopefully will be joining you all as long as school says its OK for kids to miss and make up work.
The price we were thrilled about $ 6429.48 for 4 with a Cat 11 with airfare and pre hotel and transfers included. So we booked it! (includes our 10% off)
I have never stayed in an inside room ,so concerned about that. Can anyone tell me how it is? Do you feel like your in a closet?
Its me Dh, DD Cassidi (14) and DS Austin (13) ages are at time of cruising.
My daughter really wants to make friends with other kids before we cruise so she started a kids meets forum. So far no one has replied.

Welcome aboard!! It looks like we'll have a whole bunch of kids onboard :)
We've always cruised in an inside cabin on DCL, because I need to save money for shore excursions and souveniers! I don't mind it, and I actually like how you can block out all the daylight if you want to sleep (I'll have a 16 month old on this cruise, and that will help for nap purposes). It's easy enough to leave the cabin and walk up onto one of the decks if you're missing the outdoors and there's a station on the TV that will advise you about the weather without leaving the cabin.

Thrilled to be on the EB repo with all of you. You certainly sound like a fun group. We are all booked (DH and myself) and even though I am sailing two times before this cruise I am thrilled to do a 14 day cruise with my husband. It will be a early 5th anniversary present to each other. The longest cruise I have done to date is a 7 day so this will be thrilling. We booked a catagory 11 so we have more $ to spend at the ports and ended up with everything included even flights for $3805 so I think we got a good deal too. I have to say one of the best things I ever did is find a great TA!! Can't wait to meet you all.

Welcome!

I wouldn't stress too much about the missed work. DSis missed two weeks of 12th grade this year, including her advanced placement courses, to go on the WB PC cruise. We gave the teachers plenty of notice that we'd be leaving and they did a good job of prepping the kids early so that they could get some of the work done before we left on vacation and some of the work done when we got back from vacation and they DID bring some homework on the cruise, but nothing too crazy. My other sister will be in 6th grade when we go on the TA, but I'm not expecting any problems.

You know Ian... we might have to pack flannel if we're going to sit out at night and watch movies...
Yikes! How cold will it be??

We won't tell our kids until maybe a year out....so much can happen on our end that might interfere with the cruise. Once we tell them, I'll tell them about the chat forum!

Yesterday, I tried to change the flights to arrive the evening before (I'm scared of flying out of O'Hare on the day of the cruise), and the fare nearly doubled. We just have to watch what DCL does and if they honor the mistakes.
So your TA was inquiring about changing it, and then couldn't change it back? Where I see DCL did wrong in that is they should have warned the TA that doing anything to this reservation could jeopardize the current rate. I talked at length to the air travel dept at Disney yesterday and they said that anyone that didn't get the rate, can't get it - they said they had people that where on the phone booking, booked half of their party on the mispriced fare, then the fare got fixed, and the rest of their party couldn't get the error price. I tried to make the arguement that DCL was suppose to add air for everyone on my party - but they said they would not fix a mistake by adding another mistake. (i.e. DCL agent made a mistake not adding it, but they won't fix that be adding it at the mispriced rate).

The whole thing is a bit of a mess. I'm hoping it doesn't deter those from coming - that was all I was trying to say about missing a deal and being frustrated. Your situation sounds pretty unique and they really should give you the booking as it was....good luck.
Lisa

I was wondering that too, but I don't think the original poster has checked back in.

Count us in for this one! It will be me (46 at the time), DH (45 a-t-t) and DS (15 a-t-t). DD will not be able to come with us as she is in college and the timing is bad. As a consolation she will get one week at WDW that summer with a girlfriend. She's sad about missing the cruise, but happy about the WDW week so it's all okay.

We were supposed to be on the EB Panama Canal cruise last August but DH broke his leg in July and we had to cancel. We're so excited to do a repositioning cruise...and one to Europe, where we've never been.

I am happy to be the list keeper, if nobody else has volunteered. If everyone PMs me with their names, group members, home states (or countries), stateroom numbers and dining times I can compile a list. If we want to do a Secret Mickey "thing" I'd be happy to help with that too!

Can't wait!

Michele

Wow, that's nice of you! I will PM you my info! Thanks, Lisa

My boys missed the first 2 weeks of school for the EB Panama. We registered them late when we got back. 2 weeks later the middle school bumped my 6th grader to Honors Math, Science and English. Report cards came out this week and they are both on A & B Honor Roll. I chose this cruise because it is at the end of the year after all their testing for promotion is completed. They will be in 7th and 5th Grade and I understand that taking kids out of school is a very personal decision, but you know more than anyone what your kids can handle. I took some flack, but I know what I am providing to my family and I can take it:wizard:

We are going to take Spanish lessons over the next year as a family, so I am excited!:wizard:

Okay, so I had some free time. What do you think?
http://www.freewebs.com/spanishinquisition/

We can use it to keep track of planning (Secret Mickeys, group activities, meets, etc.) and for information on each port. They had one for the Eastbound Panama Canal cruise and it was a great way to keep track of all the information without having to wade through the Cruise Meet thread.

Disclaimer...I had some free time and was just playing around. If somebody else is already doing this I apologize.
