EB games is in my town, do you buy from them and how is the quailty? I am considering games and maybe a used player, but I am a bit hesitant on the player part because it would be used? Anyone have any good or bad experiences? Thanks!

I have not bought any game systems from them but have bought games. You can pay extra to get a 1 year warranty from them on that game. It is $1 or $2. We have never had any problems with the games and I think they told me I have so many days to bring it back if it did not work. We have been happy with what we bought from them.

The problem with EB is the annoying/crowded atmosphere, especially this time of year. But I wouldn't hesitate to buy used stuff from them. As long as you have your receipt, they are great at replacing anything used that has a problem.

We bought some used DVD's from them. I really thought it was interesting ecause we got a Gangs of New York that was meant for Academy members to view for voting purposes!!

My DS's have bought from them and have had very good luck. They have bought both games and systems.

They are owned by GameStop now - if that makes you feel more comfortable. I believe the two stores still have different policies for purchases/returns.

EB Games has always treated us fairly. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.

We've bought used games and used game boy colors (a few years ago) from both EBgames and Gamestop and we've never had any problems with them.

I buy from there all of the time and even bought my refurb Nintendo DS from there. I've never had anything but positive experiences with the staff and the products (the crowd are a whole separate story- why do they make the traffic areas so small in that store?)

Have bought in both EBGames and GameStop:
GameBoy games used and new (reliable for reservations)
Used Nintendo GameCube - 2 years and still going strong
Used Ninentendo DS - was virtually untouched

Have traded in many games and gotten great deals. EBGames is harder to deal with because they cater to teenage boys (and I have a DD12) but both stores are very reliable. They do have different policies re trade in, reservations, etc., so feel free to compare prices. We have both in the same mall on different floors.

I love GameStop and EB Games. I've never had a problem with anything I've bought from there and the staff and always been extremely helpful and knowledgeable! Once I was looking for a particular GB game and the clerk called five different stores for me and when he found one that had it, had them hold it for me.

I hate paying full price for games, they are so expensive when they first come out and then go do sometimes by half in just a couple months!

I've never had a problem with service or quality on the itmes I've purchased but one word of advice: Know what the game or video costs new (both retail price and the best price you can score elsewhere) before buying used from them. Our store very frequently sells games for just a couple of dollars below new retail prices. I can often get cheaper new copies from Amazon or another online retailer, particularly if I have a coupon. Sometimes our store even sells used copies for more than new in the store. This usally happens on older titles where EB is selling it for a percentage off retail, but stores like Target or WalMart have already moved it to the cheapie bin. I don't know if all their stores are like ours, but just do your comparison shopping and you should be fine.
