Here's our menu for the next 6 days. I have found that if I write it down where my entire family can see it, it really helps us stick to it. The kids know what to expect and look forward to the meal and my DH can start it if he gets free from work before I get home.

Sunday: Stuffed peppers, corn and load potatoes;
Monday: Beans w/ham bone, cornbread, turnip greens and mashed potatoes;
Tuesday: Farfella w/ ham and broccoli alfredo and ceasar salad;
Wednesday: Salmon patties, beans, mac n tomato;

I have created a new infatuation in my kids for OLD Disney flicks from the library. We have watched The Swiss Family Robinson, and this past weekend we watched Heidi. They are SOOOO GOOOD! Anyone have suggestions for others we would enjoy? Even if our local library doesn't have one in stock they can usually get them from another branch. I look foward to everyone's ideas!

OHHHH LOVE LOVE LOVE Swiss Family Robinson. Here are some others, Apple Dumpling Gang, Blackbierd, (obviously the originals that have been redone recently such as Herby, The Parent Trap, That Darn Cat, etc) For my money the originals blow the remake out of the water!

Tonight is grilled cheese with tomato soup. I wanted something simple and easy since my allergies are going crazy.

This is a great idea! We really really need to cut back on eating out! It will definitely help us save some money to put towards Disney :goodvibes I always make a list for each week and we try to stick to it but a lot of times it doesnt work out when we just want something quick to eat and none of us wants to cook. This is our plan for the next week:

Monday - Lemon Oregano Chicken Breast with Mashed Potatoes & Veggies
Tuesday - Chicken Pot Pie
Wednesday - Fish Sticks with Rice & Veggies
Thursday - Chicken Pot Pie
Friday - Pasta with a Garlic Olive Oil Sauce & Salad
Saturday - Pancakes & Turkey Bacon
Sunday - Roast with Potatoes, Gravy & Veggies

If anybody wants any of these recipes just let me know in a PM!

Monday- BLT'S

Tuesday- Greek Salad with grilled chicken and grilled pita bread

Wed- Black bean and beef chili with cheese quesadillas

Thurs- Tandoori Chicken with rice and gilled pita bread

Fri - Hubby chooses

Sat- ?

Here's our choices for the week. If I at least write down the choices then I can pick one and take something out of the freezer to thaw.

Chicken enchiladas, mexican rice
Tortellini, sausage and marinara sauce
Ribs, shells and cheese, corn and rolls
Tacos and beans
Fish, salad and ?
Breaded Chicken tenders, brocolli, suddenly salad
Orange chicken, rice, stir fry veggies and fortune cookies

I am so glad to be back on! After 52 hours we just got back power! I am so sick of take out! Spaghetti for diner tonight

We've been off schedule a bit but mostly still eating at home. We had taco soup the night we were supposed to have biscuits and gravy, then yesterday I went to the store for milk and lunch meat and found some frozen pizzas on sale so I bought four and a box of garlic toast. My son and husband had a three meat and a buffalo chicken pizza for dinner. I bought two four cheese pizzzas for the girls and I and added artichoke hearts to one. So that was last night. Today DH and I accidently went to his dr.s a day early so since we had some time on our hands we went out for sushi for lunch. For dinner tonight we finally had the biscuits and Gravy w/scrambled eggs and fried potatos. Tommorrow I plan on Baked Salmon filets with Pesto for the girls and I and a Terryaki pork loin for the boys. We will probably have mashed potatos andveggies with this and I might make a cake for dessert if I have time.

I'm going to try to get back on track. We've finally finished (mostly) with the renovations on our rental house. I'm just not organized (or to be honest) energetic enough to menu plan when I have to work in an unairconditioned house all day and never know just how many we'll have for dinner. I know one thing-I'm really, really, really sick of pizza!

Tonight is from the freezer:
Tacos
Refried Beans
Mexican rice
Cantaloupe

I have my fingers crossed that I'll be able to get back to weekly planning next week.

I hope all of you up in the Northeast have recovered from Irene! No power in August is awful! We were out for two weeks in 2008 and I wouldn't wish that on anyone :grouphug:
