I won't try it until Sat., but it's at tasteofhome.com (Stacked Chicken Cordon Bleu). It's a members only recipe, but it's free to sign up.

Hope it helps.:)

GREAT thanks - I love that website!!!!

This is a great idea! We've been dining out a lot lately (although I LOVE to cook, stress/depression has made dining out really convenient), and despite the delicious foods, we really could be saving that money for something worthwhile.

Tonight is typically pizza night in our house, because it's Cub Scouts night and we are a stone's throw from a really great pizza parlor. However, we aren't attending Scouts because of school conferences, so I'm making dinner.

It's a bit tricky, though, because I'm in the middle of a 24-hour experiment: No sugar, pasta, added salt, etc. ... I found a few things in the kitchen that should be okay:

Baked Chicken
Green Beans
Mashed Potatoes

that i saw on here with the 2 can of tomatoe soup in the crockpot and it was soooo good!! i will make that again. having easy burritos tonight!

Changed our plans a little from last night
I still had pancakes - apple cinnamon - and bacon
Hubs had a pastrami sandwich and chips
DS had 2 egg and cheese sandwichs, monkey bread and bacon
DD had french toast, grapefruit, bacon and sausage patty

Tonight is Turkey cutlets in gravy in the crockpot, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, stuffing and cranberry sauce.

Looking for the Arroz con pollo recipe that was posted here with a link to the recipe within the last week or two. I tried the search but nothing comes up. Can anyone help me find this recipe please?

Tonight we are having homemade baked macaroni and cheese with spinach salad.

We were going to have fish tonight (My first time trying it since I was a kid) but could not get into the right mindset to try it.

WOOHOO!!! :cool1: You will have to tell me how you like it. Which plan did you get?

Hi again! I decided to go with the family plan/any store. I figured it offered the most meals (7) vs. the plan for 2 (5 meals). It's me, DH, and DD, other DD is off to college. DD is picky and I knew that I had a better chance of finding something she'd eat with 7 meals vs. the 5 meal plan. I can adjust the portions accordingly.

I have a job interview in about an hour so I am totally nervous and have no clue yet what we are having for dinner.

Last night we ended up having the tortellini w/ sausage, & salad, as we were all running in different directions. Remember I said it was 60 degrees out a few days ago?, today a blizzard is coming through, that's Nebraska for you! Tonight will be the chicken sausage w/ peppers & cheesy potatoes. Good luck on the interview Charming!

Well, no kids tonight so I am making DH take me out to dinner. :rotfl: Either O'Charley's with a $10 coupon or Chili's 2 for $20...YUM!

Thanks for all the well wishes. I think the interview went very well. I will find out sometime next week if I am called in for a second interview.

Tonight for dinner we are having The pioneer woman's bbq grilled chicken and pineapple quesadillas with Spanish rice and sauteed veggies.

Back from Costco and the grocery store. This week we are trying all new recipes! Here's the menu, in no particular order-

-crispy cheddar chicken, rice, corn casserole
-crock pot baked potato soup, pretzel rolls
-crispy southwest chicken wraps
-ranch house crock pot pork chops, mashed potatoes
-Costco take and bake pizza, salad
-Superbowl- wings, brats, raw veggies/dip, cheese ball/crackers

I was just reading back through some posts I missed. Have you posted this recipe?

No, I had not. It is an easy one. Here ya go:

8 oz. fresh button mushrooms
2 tsp. oil
1 lg onion coursely chopped
2 Tbsp dry sherry (optional, I use cooking sherry)
1 can chicken broth or 2 cups homemade broth
1 can cream of mush soup
1 box fast cooking long grain and wild rice blend
Salt and pepper to taste

Rinse, pat dry and slice mushrooms, removing and discarding tough stems. Set aside.
Heat oil in a 4 1/2 cup dutch oven or soup pot over med high heat. Cook onions for about a minute, then add mushrooms and sherry. Cook, stirring occasionally, until mushroom release their liquid, about 3 mins.
Add the broth, cream of mush, and 2 cups of water (I usually use more chicken broth). Add the rice and about 1/2 of the seasoning packet from it. Stir well, cover the pot, and raise the heat to high. Bring the soup to a boil. Reduce heat to low and stir well. Cover and simmer until the rice is tender, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
