Easywdw vs. Touringplans.com

You will find fans of both sites here. I've been using touringplans.com for 4 years. Their website has lots of information and I think the Lines app itself is worth the small yearly subscription. I'm also a big fan of their cheat sheets. They were really helpful on my first few trips.

I have signed up to TP for the touring (using easyWDW for the days)

Whare are their cheat sheets? :confused3

Why not both?

TP sub is worth it for their app IMO, and I like getting the Unofficial Guide to peruse even if I don't go that year (and it allows for a discount on the TP subscription).

I have used both for the past 3 trips. Easywdw has been more accurate on the crowd predictions.

I've subscribed to TP before and like it only for the Lines app. The app is the only one, as far as I know or have seen, that shows Fast Pass statuses such as current wait times, whether its gone, current return times, etc. However, once the new FP+ fully rolls out, that information might not be necessary.

For $11 or $12 bucks (or whatever the cost is), it is a negligible one for a year long subscription. It does have good info, and I like to check out as many sources as I can.

I've sued Easy for a number of trips now. Always puts me in the low crowd park/s. I like it.

I hope you do mean that you've USED easy...not SUED, lol.
I'm pretty sure Josh would just give you a refund without you needing to sue...

Agree, the Lines App is what makes TP worth a purchase.

Exact 'plans' are not as powerful as they once were IMO, but having updated and user-submitted wait information is.

Josh's comments and explanations are indeed very good. Read and understand those, then apply them to what you encounter in real time.

Eh, what diff does it make FP+ will make every tourist an expert...waiting is a thing of the past!

another vote for both - easywdw for crowd calendar/picking which days at which parks and touring plans for, well, the touring plans during the days easywdw said were the best to visit....easywdw and touring plans tend to contradict which days are best to visit, but with having used both sites in the past, we've found easywdw is spot on for the days.

Yes, easywdw is free, but touring plans is only $12 for a year, so not bad.

Enjoy your planning, and enjoy your trip :goodvibes

I subscribe to TP for the lines app. It's great to know that Space Mountain is down when you're standing at Splash Mountain. It saves a long, wasted walk across the MK. I also like TP's cheat sheets. I bought the eVersion of the Unofficial Guide which gives a discount on the app -- I think I paid less than $8 for the app. So for both the app and the book, it's probably less than a CS meal at Disney;) Both the app and the book have saved me time and money.

For crowds, I put both TP and EasyWDW's recommended parks and predicted crowd levels on my planning pages. I probably give the edge to EasyWDW for crowds. I also like Josh's long descriptions of his reasoning for his park recommendations.

I like both and don't see any reason to pick one or the other. They both have great information.

I have and do use both. I use my TP subscription for the Lines app. But, for everything else, I use easywdw. Josh does an amazing job with the crowd levels/which park to go to. And, he gives you a very good explanation (sometimes a REALLY long paragraph) on just exactly why you should or should not go to a certain park. And he gives this explanation for EVERY DAY of the year. For free! I'm really not sure how he does the whole thing for free, but whatever, that's another thread for another time. :) The easywdw site has a wealth of info that I've found to be spot on. But, I still keep my TP subscription for the Lines app.

Very litigious...... :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Haha, too funny. :scratchin I noted as so.

I do this also, use Easy, plus, once in a park, use Lines.

I mostly use Easy WDW for picking which park for that day, and Touring Plans to get an idea of the crowd patterns for various rides. But I believe I've seen both Josh and the Unofficial Guide guys say it's more important to have a good touring plan than to hit a park on the perfect day. And getting there early is a secret that will never "get out," because such a high percentage of people who know it's wise still don't (or won't) do it.

Last May was our first trip to the world..ever. We used EasyWDW to help with touring plans and I was stunned beyond belief when Josh was spot on about EVERYTHING. I would definitely use his information to plan park time on our next trip. It was flawless. We were clueless and using his information, we only waited in line for a long time once and that was during Star Wars Weekend so it was beyond packed in HS and we got a late start that day. His site and the forum there are soo helpful too.

I use EasyWDW to plan which parks on what day. If I want a detailed "Go to ride A and then Ride B" kind of plan, Touring Plans is good for that.

Put me down as uses both but leans toward EasyWDW!

As I see it, Touring Plans is heavily statistic based and easyWDW is behavioral based. From my perspective over the last few trips, easyWDW has the edge. It will be interesting with all of the FP+ stuff coming how this all holds up over time.

I'm pretty sure Josh actually lives at Cava De Tequila...
JK...but he is in the parks almost every day. So, when any new policy goes into effect, I am sure he will check it out and come up with the best way to incorporate it into your plan.

Another vote for easywdw!

Easywdw is spot on! TP didn't match up at all my last trip.

Thanks! This is what I need to know. My plans that I made on my own resemble mostly what easywdw says, but touringplans not as much and undercovertourist completely contricts both!

No doubt!
