I'm a good 3 1/2 hr drive East of Toronto. For the rest of Ontario, Toronto is a real mixed bag. Sort of what NY City is to upstate New York. All of the issues and baggage and provincial political power resentments. However, glad you had great visits to T.O. ps loved how in the movie Argo, the Americans were taught to pronounce Toronto correctly. The second t is silent. So phonetically, "Toe - Ron - Oh."

ps edited to add: Ontarians are thrilled to have our American visitors/cousins come to see us, wherever they visit, and however they choose to pronounce our city names. Given our low dollar, we are a big bargain right now! But personally, I'd recommend you visit us in the summer when we have temps in the mid 70sF and you don't have to pull on a parka
