"I am partial to margaritas and mojitos, as well as a good bahama mama.
But I also love patron XO cafe and a good scotch.
The options are limitless really!"

You know, I've never tried the xo cafe. I'll have to look for it -we love tequila, had a shot of patron last night as a matter of fact. Also had a real nice MaiTai last night ..looking for something tropical. Whatever you decide, good cheer to you and your husband. I settle in with a bourbon tonight in your honor....

It's amazing if you love coffee!
I may or may not have drank an entire bottle plus shots and cocktails at my little sister's hens day...

Awww I'm thinking of everyone that is snowed in and hoping you stay safe. I'm so glad that we haven't gotten any of the snow. Last year we had over 100 inches. People are dancing around here because we escaped this storm. At the beginning of the week it was looking like we may get it but it stayed south. Yippie! (O.k. the ski resorts aren't happy.)There is one good that can come of all the shoveling. It is a great way to burn calories. So if you needed a mid January boost to your exercise program go shovel snow or walk laps around your living room like Pete. :worship:

Hey, you all are making the news down here.
I realize it's quite dangerous and not exactly a great situation, but it looks so beautiful. All that snow just looks like a dream to a little ol' Melbourne girl like me.

It ended for us last night, just about 30 hours and 29 inches here. We had a plow do most of our driveway, but it took me a few hours to shovel my truck out. I will be spending the night working on my wife's car after work. Today we are still dealing with winds that are making snow drifts on the roads. Luckily we never lost power.

It's pretty to look at but that's about it. Many areas got as much as 30 inches of snow which is crippling. Cities are pretty much shut down: Washington, Philadelphia, New York, etc. and the cold extends far south. Right now, it is 36° F in Orlando. But if you want to build a snowman, come on over.

I'm probably in the minority here, but ... I'm with you. I love it. I'll take all the snow I can get!
Yes, the two feet of snow under which our cars are currently buried won't be fun to clean up. But we're in NYC, and this is a city that can deal with almost anything. The travel ban was lifted, mass transit is starting to run again, and the city will be almost entirely back to normal by the start of the work week tomorrow. So for now ... I just want to make a cup of hot cocoa and stare at the snow.
Which isn't to say that we weren't inconvenienced by the snow. I haven't been out of the house in over 36 hours (which includes skipping my run this morning because I figured people hadn't shoveled and the park where I run probably hasn't been cleaned up yet), my parents had to cancel their vacation because their flight was cancelled (and it was just too much hassle to reschedule everything), and my brother had to be out in the cold snow for an hour yesterday shoveling. But snow is something that's always going to happen here, so I just try to enjoy it.

The only good thing about this storm is that it hit on Saturday. Had it occurred on Monday instead, it would have easily cost me well over $1,000 in lost income by having to close the office for a couple of days. So I'm grateful for that.

Glad everybody is pretty okay. Hope we hear from CapbellzSoup soon (thanx for remembering about him being in NYC, Sam, how thoughtful of you!). About 20-24" here, but thank goodness never lost power, which was my big concern. I thank goodness I'm not helping any neighbors shovel this year, or having to "pretty up" our front stoop/stairs/sidewalk at my complex, so I can stay in. Again - glad all are okay, and we all have each other, thank you for that!!

Just saw a post from CampellzSoup in the topic of who would you vote for to hang out with at 8:29 last night, so he was okay as of then. :)

Round 3 of shoveling. Both of us spent an hour out there. Got my car dug out and cleaned off and made some progress getting DW's car dug out. That'll be round 4 a little later.

Ugh... I feel your pain -not from this storm, but from memories of last year. Good idea to break it up...

Can ya come here when you're done, Sam? Please????? :duck::rotfl2:
Hah! This could get dangerous. The whole Board will be asking me to show up with my little cleaning bucket. Nooo! :-) ps we have time of use power in Ontario. Cheaper consumption rates for home owners on the weekends and after 7pm weekdays. So weekends are laundry, vacuuming, running dishwasher and all those power hog activities. Makes for a boring, bummer of a weekend. Also hard & $ for families with kids who have to run laundry and appliances on peak times during the week.

Ok. We're done shoveling. As done as we're going to be. Both cars are cleared off and can be used. We can't get to our garage but we'll just have to live without it for a bit. And I got out on the roof to shovel off the flat section over our family room. It's not good to have all of that heavy snow up there.

I'll definitely go into the office in the morning. Whether or not the office will actually be open remains to be determined but I'll at least go do messages and paperwork for a few hours.
