Earrings On Old Men

Earrings on Steven Tyler = Sexy:lovestruc
Earrings on Bruce Jenner = :scared1::scared1::scared1:
Earrings on my DH = :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm not particularly fond of earings on men of any age. That being said, a small cuff doesn't seem that bad. I really dislike seeing diamond studs in both ears on men. Just strikes me as odd.

I like earrings on both men and women of any age; I'm not sure why age would make jewelry creepy? Maybe because I'm older.

My husband and 2 oldest sons do not wear earrings. Youngest son, 30, wears gauges.

Earrings on old men don't bother me. I think they're much more attractive than tattoos and long hair on older men.

Depends on the man. I find earrings on Harrison Ford and Morgan Freeman sexy. On someone like Wilford Brimley or Regis Philbin, not so much. Small little loop or gold stud? Great. Big drop earrings or guages? Ick.

Source?
Presupposing the person who found them didn't just steal the earring. I'd think that was far more common than using it pay for a stranger's funeral. Especially in a subsistence economy, which has been most of the world through most of human history.

400 years of history and experience are source enough.:thumbsup2.
We have the earring from my husbands great grandfather still in our possession.
My husband comes from a family whit hundreds years of sailing history.

In those long gone days the oldest son inherited the ship and the others got a golden earring as they went working whit other captains. If the father was not very rich it was a silver one.
Stealing of the dead was not common in those days. To day it is almost normal but back than? No way.

I'm really indifferent to such things. I think that if the man is comfortable and happy with it then that's all that matters.

I don't like earrings, chains, rings...on a man. A wedding ring, a watch, a wristband, a class ring is fine. Anything else creeps me out. JMO

Depends on the earring....A huge diamond stud or an ear that has been gauged, not so much. A small stud, not a big deal IMO.

My dad has worn a small stud in his ear for 15-20 years now, not many people even notice he has it in. In fact, my 19 year old niece noticed it for the first time yesterday and asked him when he got his ear pierced. She sees him frequently and he has had it most of her life (if not all of it) so it can't be too big of a distraction :rotfl:

An interesting fact is that young people become old people. Whatever you do now will be there always.

I don't think a man should stop wearing an earring if he always has. Anything IN style is eventually going to be OUT of style. The time will come when most guys with earrings will be old, and young men won't touch them with a ten foot pole. Same with tattoos.

Like in their 60's and 70's.
No poll, just seeing Morgan Freeman on the Today Show and thought I'd ask.
Comments?
A turnoff?
Cool?
Case by case basis?

As long as the old guy is also sporting an eye patch, pegleg and tricorn along with the earring...pirate:

I dislike earring on ANY man young or old. I don't think ear jewelry is meant for guys. It looks very tacky and immature to me. It's about as stupid as a grown man with a ponytail.

A tasteful earring on a male of any legal age doesn't bother me. Piercings of the face, eyebrow, tongue, nose and lip OTOH are a turn off on either sex IMHO. And the "gauges" make me sick. I find them difficult to even look at.:scared1:

Don't get me started on tattoos on aging skin.:goodvibes Not a good look for either sex.

I'm old. Well, I'm 60, which is at least close enough. I had "normal length" hair until about a year ago, other than a couple of brief episodes where I grew it out over my ears just because I could. Now, I sport a grey ponytail, and I don't know if it's cool or not, but I like it and Mrs. Tex doesn't mind. I grew it because it struck me that I'd never be able to do it any younger, and eventually I wouldn't have enough hair to even try.

So nyah, nyah, nyah about ponytails on old guys!:cool1:

As for earrings on men in general, I'm completely neutral about 'em. I don't have any piercings at all, but if I could talk Mrs. Tex into getting a matching piercing, I'd love something up high on my ear, and I'd wear a stud with her initial on it. (She'd wear mine, of course. I hope!) She's OK with me getting it, but she's not going to match me, so I guess I'm just outta luck.
